Tohru is one of the most broken but happy anime characters ever, all she does it put up a front and help people no matter what mood she's in.. thats what makes her my biggest comfort ever.
Yeah tohru is one of the pure hearted female character who I really love she is my baby my little girl I swear to God I would do anything to protect that pure soul
I just love how Rin opened up herself to Tohru. How she allowed Tohru to see her vulnerable side. Like at this point shouldn’t it be Tohru who’s loved by all the zodiacs and not Akito
Akito is by no means loved, he's feard, he use his rank as god, the zodiac member's trauma and painful experiences as a means to pull them into his pitch black world if he ever see a sign of anyone of them in a happier moment than he could ever be from what I know about Tohru, she is someone they can both rely and be relied on, the events that accures between her and the zodiacs are like a sun slowly rising in that pitch black world dus creathing a conflict between God's selfish bond and the rise of a happy end where the somas breaks free and even trancend the happiness that was once lost
Awwwhhh poor rin I love her so much, the scene where Akito pushed her off killed me , she's been through so much and seeing her crawl into tohrus lap like that legit made me tear up 😭❤
i think this part where she describes how she wants to run and lie in her lap and just be spoilt really made me cry like a child. this scene really breaks me T.T
Tohru honda is like the sun; she has a sunny disposition and a warm heart. Not only does she brightens up a person's darkest day, she brightens up a person's darkest soul.❤😭😢
I love this part so much, this is exactly how I feel just wanting to lie in someones lap, and whine about my problems, weakness. Everyone is broken, lonely, in the anime then tohru comes the hope, the light shining through a closed door, akito changed, everything worked out in the end, I can't explain how much I love this anime, that I just want season after season a 10 hr movie maybe longer than that, I'll watch it, and never get bored.
i love this scene a lot too.. and i also wont get tired of rewatching fruits basket. i was actually introduced to it by a friend not long ago and i fell in love
This might sound pathetic but when I was a kid I used to reread Tohru's lines in the manga and pretend she was talking to me bc I always wished I had a friend like her 😭
Tohru’s wise quotes or analogies are so powerful to the point this became my comfort anime of all. Although for the whole season 1, introducing of Sohma family only gives pain, yet she balances it with something about her that is very unexplainable, making me feel at ease. I wanted to be like her, I wanted to reach and connect with other people like she does.
I kind of got the feeling from Rin's backstory that her parents were sort of a "stay together for the kid" situation. They hated each other, but couldn't say it out loud, so they lashed out at Rin.
i feel so bad for tohru. she's so sweet, yet she quietly deals with her own struggles every other day. despite all that, she never has complained about her life once. instead of savoring more, she appreciates what she already has. most people think tohru is an annoying mc due to her high-pitched voice. and honestly, i can see that. but, i don't really see her as that annoying character.
It's too bad this clip is so chopped up -the music for this scene is beautiful and used beautifully. Every time this piece of music popped up in "Fruits Basket" i knew I was going to end up crying! It's "Spring Will Come When the Snow Melts Away."
As much as I love Rin, I don't get what exactly is she punishing herself about, why exactly does she say "people like me yearn for kindness"! Literally her worst line ever, Haru is JUST like her, there are so many zodiacs who went through exactly the same thing Rin did, she's literally taking everything on her own for no reason. I get that she had good intentions but the way she treated everything like its ONLY her problem was incredibly selfish of her, very unnecessary and being harsh to the others as an excuse was also stupid. But then again, every character has their flaws, and I enjoy seeing them, just wish we had gotten to see more of Rin having normal moments with Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, Kagura or Momiji without the whole load of the curse, cus even by the end she seemed so disconnected from everyone except Tohru and Haru. Her relationship with Kagura could have been explored more too, or Momiji due to similar trauma, or maybe she could have found common ground with Kureno too since she seemed so hostile towards him. She was literally only there on moments regarding the curse. Big waste of a character imo.
You clearly didn’t understand the character There is a reason why she pushed everyone away and why she was punishing herself It’s all because she regretted asking her parents that question that changed everything She took the punishment and abuse from them because she thought she deserved it, she also genuinely believed that she seduced Haru (even though he did it first ) The reason why Rin said “people like me take advantage of kind people” is because she viewed herself as a horrible and worthless person, that Haru, Tohru and Hiro were too good for her She is not selfish at all, she is the opposite and only acted rude and cold to make other characters hate her it was painful seeing others so happy with their parents because they reminded her of what she had and lost which is why she never warmed up to Kagura And she is definitely not a waste of character as she was the one zodiac who was trying to break the curse (other than Shigure) she was there to connect Akito and Ren and remind each one of the other and is the one character who couldn’t forgive Akito so we got to see a different perspective from her Just because Rin didn’t end up being completely happy like the rest and was still traumatized and wasn’t friends with anyone as you wanted her to be except with Haru and Tohru doesn’t mean that she was a waste of character as her journey of healing is a life one unlike Yuki And she definitely became friends with Momiji
@@azliee9865 I didn't say she was a waste of a character because she was so disconnected from the cast or because of her role in the story, but because we literally never saw her EXCEPT the moments about the curse. It's like her entire character was based on that one thing, when I believe she had so much more to offer than just that. Also, I get that she regretted asking the question that ruined her life, but I still never got what made her think she's a horrible person, if she felt guilty for the pain she brought her parents for being who she is, then what made her think she seduced someone who was exactly like her and went through the same things she did, she literally lied to Akito herself but then suddenly believed whatever crap she said to her. And Rin making every character hate her, never did and never will make sense to me. That's just my opinion. You're right, maybe I don't get much of her character but how was ignoring Haru and acting by herself not selfish? Honestly the thought that only one person has to bear the brunt of everything and hurting others as a pass is incredibly selfish, regardless of the intention.
@@Mysticist6641 well thats the thing about trauma and abuse, it warps your perception of reality and ruins your self worth. haru was really the first person to ever take a stand for her, and given how much of a shock of her parent's abuse and specifically the unhappiness they'd been hiding, it makes sense she would have trouble discerning true kindness from an act- when ren tells her to go into akito's room rin just... trusts her, because despite hating rin she always put up a kind front to her. haru didnt have anything to gain from standing up to her parents for her in the hospital, and she'd never had anything like that happen before so he's the main one to really stick until tohru. she isnt breaking the curse for herself but for haru's happiness and future. and not because she wants to be a hero or reunite with him but because she thinks she's disposable. she thinks she's a burden to others and is dragging them down, so she cuts them off and chases them away. kind people should live in their kind world and to rin, part of that is removing herself from that world entirely. beyond being a zodiac she is told by akito that she's uniquely disgusting and unwanted. she's taking advantage of haru because he's kind enough to see value in and waste his time on her. there are some people who say rin is as bad as akito and while i think they both hurt people and are still both victims, rin at least had good intentions. even if she turned over a new leaf, akito cut down other victims to keep herself afloat, mutilated and psychologically tortured them as a crutch to her own ego. rin is introduced in full mental breakdown mode and puts the full force of herself into protecting others, even if that intention is warped by her trauma and drives her to hurt them.
