I think that's a breather pipe from the rocker cover which takes the fumes of oil and reuses them into the intake and they go back into the engine so it is normal to have a bit of oil on those pipes.
I helped my brother in law do his. I can confirm it was definitely a pain in the arse. Week after we did the rocker cover and gasket and that was way worse 😂😭
I see so many M140i bmw car for sale here it's insane, idk why or how i could easily get one in new condition but sadly insurance will be more expensive compared to my 328i.
so this happened to my Mini Cooper s turbo car and was replacing the intake and a load of oil was in the pipes turns out the turbo fans had failed So just get someone to double check
Awesome Brett. Father Christmas arrives in 9 weeks so you could get your new tools then?!?! How did you keep your white t shirt so clean! Working on your stunning bmw?
Have you smoke tested this to 100% ensure no boost leaks? I’ve got a VRSF one and it’s absolutely pathetic, pissing smoke out and I’ve had it in for 3 months, absolutely no DME codes just thought I would check and it’s horrible
@@BrettBarnesYT Maybe you can consider installing an oil catch can, that oil is coming from the head of the engine in form of vapour. Oil catch cans are tipically installed on diesel engines because the problem is much more evident, but nothing stops them to be used also on petrol engines
They are my grandads dads I believe so extremely old 😂. I’ve only been into cars for a couple years so I’m still building my own tools. I’m thinking of buying the Halfords advanced 200 piece tool kit which will have most things I’ll need. At the moment I take about an hour to find a tool I need from my dads, grandads or my grandads dads toolbox which is very annoying 😂😂.
It's the M135 charge pipe that cracks not the M140 Charge pipe. The box from the intake pipe is a resonator not a filter. Fair play to you having the car and wanting to do stuff but it's obviously companies just sending you free stuff to get advertising. Please hurry up and get the Halfords tool box as seeing you use those chocolate tools is just embarrasing. lol
If you wanted the video properly you would’ve heard many times that I mentioned that it’s the N55 engine that has the problems however it’s still a worthwhile upgrade for better airflow, reliability and appearance. I know it’s a resonator… but thanks for the info anyway. I’ve only been into cars for a couple years so not invested in tools. I’ve been using my dads, grandads and my grandads dads tools for the timing being which do the job. Lol
Nice work mate. Added the MST intake a couple of weeks ago and the noise is amazing, sounds faster even if it isn't!
Thanks mate! Yeah I bet 😂, nice man

Ah okay! Thanks for letting me know 😊
@@BrettBarnesYT yeah, I presume somebody creates a catch can system. The viscosity of that oil looks way too high to be from the filter
The oil is definitely not from the air filter no need to worry about that it's exactly as this person says.
love you and your car, it's been my favorite car since I found you
❤❤❤
Yeah him, Bimmer Belgium and Hampshire are my fav M140i's on RUclips
Waiting on another backroad POV drive. One of the best sounding a UK M140is imo

Look forward to more content from you 👍🏻
Thanks Martin!! More coming soon, should be atleast weekly now ;)
Did you ever have trouble with the air filter getting dirty or wet?
Charge pipe went on my n55 m135i last week was a ball ache to fit
I helped my brother in law do his. I can confirm it was definitely a pain in the arse. Week after we did the rocker cover and gasket and that was way worse 😂😭
Your car needs the oil catch can, like mine too.
Anyway I like a lot the air forcing duct, but I am afraid it could be obstructed after a while.
I’ll keep an eye out bud! Thanks for watching 😊
6:18 isn't that also to keep the engine warm? 🤔
Nice mate doing a grand job 😎👌👍
Just stumbled on this channel, hats off you don't even look 18 driving some serious whips
Haha thanks for watching mate! I’m 21 btw 😂
It’s normal to find oil there btw
Most auto electricians should be able to fix and repin the OBD port. Just ask about for one with a decent reputation.
Looks great, rides great ! 😍
❤️❤️❤️
Mint motor fella love the car looks gorgeous
Thank you mate! ❤
Great video
Hi was there no gasket on the inside of the intake turbo elbow part or did you not transfer the one over from your old elbow to the new one?
I see so many M140i bmw car for sale here it's insane, idk why or how i could easily get one in new condition but sadly insurance will be more expensive compared to my 328i.
What about getting an open cone filter.
Trying to avoid heat soak if possible
OK bud the 140i looks 👌
Thank you!
How significantly have your insurance premiums gone up by mate?
Magic rain scoop..😂
Yeah but think about how many people have their cone filter in behind the grilles… 🤣

Not a clue how I kept it clean 😅! Thanks mate

Have you had any issues with the warm climate intake mod? (water/snow during the winter)
No mate, nothing at all 😊
@@BrettBarnesYT that's good to hear.
I'm considering getting one but was concerned when we have our UK weather lol
Oil is normal to find there .
Ah okay, it was just a little amount but was still a bit worried 😂

What’s happening with that interior video, you said you had something that would change the interior orange light to something else?
It’s already out mate, my previous video
No excuses now lad. 😁😂
single slat grills>double slat grills
100%😊
that’s your turbo gone mate
Had it checked and it’s completely normal 😊
Chargepipe ‘Upgrade’ is not needed on B58
I know, watch the video
I did not understand why you sold this car wtf
damn you keep your tools submerged in saltwater or what

@@BrettBarnesYT good idea. I have the advanced kit. Does all i need and they rrplace stuff with no quibble if you break something. Good investment.
