    Mate, great vid with the live commentary. I like the idea of trying new and scary things every sesh. I've got a twin tail VX deck waiting for the current deck to die. Had to set it up any way for a bit and immediately loved it. Props on those axel stalls

      Thanks for tuning in man yeah trying those rock fakie a every session is getting me more comfortable with them for sure which is progress. I’ll have to find something else scary soon haha. That vx sounds nice 👌

    Thanks so much for taking the time out to put this all together. For me I like the idea of the Razor's Edge top as well as the H3roin Egg shape. I'm considering it more now as I do have Venture 6.1s that would be a go on this deck I think. The grip job I think will be the hardest for me as I don't have the patience. I may wuss out and have the dude at my local store grip the deck.

    • @iamlazyskater
      @iamlazyskater  Год назад

      Yeah that was tricky especially as I got 9” grip with my 9.5 deck! That made it even more of a puzzle. The deck feels great though. Really enjoyed that session 🙌

    got an egg recently after a long hiatus from skating, last board i was skating was 8.125, didn't want to go crazy was too intimidated to go with such a large size so i got the friend egg which is a 8.9 (8.5 across trucks) but after the initial adjustment it now feels quite small and cramped. it's the nose and tail that are the biggest issue, due to the size of the board and the taper the end up feeling quite small and almost unskatable. like it works but it just feels like i still have a 8.125 under my feet.
    was ready to quit the egg shape and just go for a 8.5 popsicle but im gonna give it one last try with this 9.5 symmetrical egg since that seems to really be the sweet spot for most people.

    Never seen anyone use a knife for the grip. I guess if it works right? My next deck is definitely gonna be an ultrawide popsicle or fishtail, one for tricks and one for cruising. Made the same mistake you made with getting too small of a deck. Most recent purchase was a Polar Oski popsicle w/ wheel wells at 8.5 x 32.125" meant to replace my Sector 9 Fishtail cruiser w/ wheel wells at 8.375 x 30.5" that was run over. I knew I needed a larger deck right when I pulled it out of the box. Don't get me wrong, its fun as hell with risers and some 78a 61mm Nineballs. It's just not the same after having ridden a 9.75 x 30" Alien Workshop Visitor fishtail cruiser prebuilt with similar wheels and risers for years. Probably gonna sell it and build another setup. Thanks for the inspiration.

      From my experience a knife works perfectly fine as long as its nice and sharp yeah. A craft knife/blade would obviously be better but it still gets the job done. Yeah I won't be skating narrower decks for a while I don't think, sticking to the big-boy stuff for now

    Yo dude, I’m about to get the symmetrical 8.75 egg so was good to watch this.
    Just a quick tip on the axel stalls - go a bit faster and lean more into the ramp. If you want to cross lock them, visualise in your head getting that wheel under your heel just over the coping, and put your weight on it. Should allow the front truck to naturally be placed wherever you want it. Hope that helps

    • @iamlazyskater
      @iamlazyskater  Год назад

      Cheers man I'll try that! Keeping the weight inside the ramp is definitely something I don't do properly

    So did you end up liking the 8.5 trucks on it? I’m waiting for the same board to come in but not 100% sure what size trucks to get. Thinking of putting some Ace’s on it.

    • @iamlazyskater
      @iamlazyskater  Год назад

      They work ok yeah, no complaints really. I'm not a purist when it comes to that kind of thing, I can roll so im happy. I'll maybe upgrade to a slightly wider hollow truck when I've got some cash but I'm skating perfectly fine with this setup 👍

    • @IXIII-IXIII
      @IXIII-IXIII Год назад

      @iamlazyskater hello sir!! I too have a question regarding the trucks. Firstly I really like the symmetrical grip with the gap each side so I would say that was a blessing in disguise lol. Nice video, you down south?
      So I have the symmetrical 10inch double shovel - it too tapers like the egg, but not all the way and is slightly wider at the trucks I think. I personally like wide trucks, on old school decks I like tonsee a bit of the wheel and on my Welcome Popsicle inspired shapes I go as wide as the widest point over the trucks... obviously that's different with these. I want to buy the 10 inch 215s (I've read a lot that they come up a bit shorter than 10 inches anyway. More like 9.8 apparently) do you think having wide trucks will take away from the experience, or could it possibly add to it as you still have the shortish wheelbase 14.1 (usually skate 15, 15+") so the extra bit of stability might be welcomed and I want to skate curbs a lot with it. My other option is the 9.5 aces, however I've only ever skated indys and love everything about them, even the stage 4s. I'm lean8ng towards the wide 215s and having a bit of wheel visible from above rather than having a new truck feel completely. Any input considering you used super narrow ones imo lol?

    spend a few times skating my fried egg 3.0 (non symmetrical, 8.9 wide) and the size of the nose and tail are completely throwing me off.
    I agree that the shove its and kickflips feels amazing on it, but there's something so strange and weird about it that is throwing me off. i have it set up with thunder trucks and i usually ride indy trucks so perhaps this is what is causing it so soon i'll swap out the trucks for indys and give it another go but i dont think that shape is really a good shape for me.
    i then went and got a 8.5 setup off someone and used that and it immediately felt a lot more familiar and comfortable even though it's an even bigger wheel base and length. i do love how the egg looks but im glad im not completely in love because it would suck to have to only ride eggs from now on since it's such a unique shape

    I use either santa cruz rails or OJs 😊 tried pig and they were weird n skinny, couldn't get on with them...I looked at creature rails but immediately changed my mind when I saw they are very similar to pig rails lol 😅 I'm interested in the razor edge you mentioned, is that a Heroin skateboards technology? Great video, enjoyed the raw experience and your comments/talking as you were skating 😊 felt like I was there IRL he he 😃👊🔥

    • @iamlazyskater
      @iamlazyskater  Год назад

      The creature 'bat wing' type rails that I bought felt awful compared to these. You get a lot more stability with the Santa Cruz ones so I'm going to order another set for my Mandy Rain dog deck! Razor edge is something Heroin claim they introduced yeah. I'm really into it. Glad you like the content too, hopefully plenty more to come 🙌

    When u kf in a bank, u might want to do it a bit later. U should flick the moment you are in point zero (not going up nor down), u seem to do it while still going up. Just a thought.

      Ideally you'd want 169s as its 9.125 width over the trucks. 169s are that exact width when you include the axle too. I will most likely get 159 as I don't mind mine being a bit narrower if it means saving a bit of weight. I'll be getting hollows too.
