I think what made Selene truly special is the fact that she grew up as an American and eventually dove into making Hispanic music. It’s a beautiful blend of two cultures which made her sound very unique. Her heavy inspirations were actually American singers like Madonna and when you add in the flair of Hispanic music, you get what Selena was

It's a fun, fast-paced song that's a fusion of several different genres from several different cultures. A couple of good Selena songs that are a mix of Spanish and English lyrics are God's Child (Baila Conmigo) and Wherever You Are (Donde Quiera Que Estes.) I think you'd like both of those a lot. God's Child has a heavy bongo beat that I have a feeling Jay would be into.
I still want to cry every time I see her in this, her last concert. My God, what a loss to the entire country and world! I was there at the Astrodome for that show during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She, like all the other musical artists was brought into the arena aboard a white carriage. She ascended the revolving circular stage and performed to a record sized audience. She beat out acrs like Elvis, Barry Manilow and George Strait! After all thise shows it was common for fireworks to be activated INSIDE the Adtrodome! As she departed the stage, she again boarded the long white, horse drawn, carriage and paraded around the grounds again before finally leaving so the rodeo could continue and finish. It is a common misconception that was her last concert. It was her last BIG show but she performed several small club shows afterwards. Two weeks after the big show, being a Houston area deputy Constable, I was assigned to her protection detail at another local club concert. It was drizzly and cold that night and I placed my patrol jacket because as we walked from her bus around the back of the to a service service, she shivered in her typical close fitting costume. Afterwards she gave me an autographed photo. She was murdered just two weeks later. My favorite song of hers is "No me queda más." It is a song of heartbreak and she filmed in the classic Mexican fashion while wearing an evening gown and with her hair up. She was a truly a classic beauty. I hope y'all will watch the video I suggest.

I got four tickets from my mom's work for the rodeo on this night. I do not speak Spanish ,my boyfriend does not speak Spanish but my neighbors do and we were really good friends with them, so we all four went. I didn't understand half of what was said that night but it was an awesome concert. The screaming you hear, that was done the whole entire time she was out there it was so loud you could not hear someone talking that was next to you but I'm so glad I got to go that night because that was her last one. She was just awesome, she had everyone in that building that night in the palm of her hand it was really magical to see!
I only discovered her just over a year ago. I first listened to the live CD, which includes this song, then I watched the special, along with a couple of interviews with her, then the movie of her life, "Selena," starring Jennifer Lopez. She was a beautiful, sweet woman with a great voice, and the way her life ended (just over a month after this performance) was tragic.
I discovered Selena from Spanish speaking TV around 1991 or 92 even though I don't speak Spanish. What a stunning beautiful woman and what a voice. What a loss due to her thieving fan club director. I am surprised Texas didn't give that woman the death penalty. If she is ever paroled she probably won't last long.
I've never seen a reaction to Selena before, and now I know why. I cried the whole time. One of the most amazing things about Selena was how she touched you personally. I always felt part of her family thanks to the movie and her music. Her fans were front and foremost her #1 priority outside of her blood family. The fact that someone that she thought was a friend, stole money from her fans was the most hurtful thing to her and she paid the ultimate price for calling Yolanda out for it. She will be sorely missed buy her fans (including this old white woman from Oklahoma). Selena was a pure heart and a pure spirit and this world is less without her. RIP Selena💔 Jennifer Lopez did a phenomenal job portraying the beautiful young lady❤
I was just thinking of her the other day. I can’t understand how someone can do what they did to her. She was on the path to even bigger stardom. It’s so unbelievably sad.
La Reina de Cumbia. This was her last concert before her death. I remember it all she was a year older than me. So I was enchanted like most others by her at a time when race still played a role and she helped to start breaking it down
This so sad and heartbreaking… Her beautiful life was cut so short, by such a senseless tragedy. I can just imagine how far she would’ve gone in her singing career! So so sad. I was very fortunate to see her in person several times. Even at the Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio, Tx in 1995, when she won several awards. She was fenomenal, so sweet and so humble♥️🌹🕊️
Stunning! She was absolutely beautiful! That smile of hers was so captivating, and her laughter was infectious! So down to earth. Humble, sweet and a wonderful human being. Tragically her life was cut short, way too soon…💔🙏✝️🌹🕊️
It still makes my heart ache to see her in old videos. She truly was an icon, and a beautiful person. She LOVED her fans and appreciated everything that came her way. She changed the way that Americans viewed Hispanic music. I can only imagine where life would've taken her :(

Great reaction video. I miss Selena so much. Continue remembering her. Nothing but tears comes to my eyes when I watch Selena. I was there at the Houston astrodome back in February 26,1995. She broke the attendance record that day over many artists such as George strait and Michael Jackson. I was 15 years old at the time. Truly missed but never forgotten 😢❤😢❤
I was a metal head as a teen and my sister was a huge fan so i was inadvertently exposed to her music. While the genre wasnt my thing, there was no denying her vocal range and musical talent, she skyrocketed in fame in the 90s and became a latino icon who is still beloved to this day. The queen of Tex mex, a shame that her life was cut short by someone she trusted and who was jealous all along. Selena was also a knockout, one of the most beautiful latinas of her time, with the perfect coca cola bottle latina figure. She deserves all the adolation she recieved.
Selena was a HUGE Janet Jackson fan, she even owned and performed in the same leather jacket that JANET performed in at the Grammys in 1987 so she modeled alot of her performances after JANET's stage show and even covered JANET's "Black Cat" and When I Think Of You " in her live performance ❤😢🎉
When I heard about Selena being murdered, I had never even HEARED of her. I'm in the Anglo world. Then I saw a picture of her, and she looked so beautiful. She had done some special on one of the Spanish TV channels, so out of curiosity, I watched it. They were all speaking Spanish, and I had no idea what they were talking about, but Selena seemed very nice and friendly, and when they showed a couple of her song videos, I realized the world had lost someone very talented and special. I wish she were still with us. 😔
Thank you truly appreciating the PHENOMENON that is Selena. The whole world loved Selena and even so I will always scream out how underrated she is. To be that huge at such a young age is almost unheard of, and she had so much more ahead of her. A true definition of a music legend and natural talent. I don’t think I will ever be able to get over her death but I will always be grateful for the life we got to experience from her. So grateful for Selena for ever and always ❤️🌹
I love that performance and Jennifer Lopez absolutely slayed that portrayal in the biopic, And this song was one of my favs. Had the soundtrack on cassette tape. I had just saw an interview and story about her on ET weeks before she was tragically murdered. So sad.

The Queen of Tejano. Pure beauty, pure soul, pure talent. When she died, a little of the pure goodness in the world left with her. Long live the music of La Reigna, you are dearly missed!
What a phenomenol voice! What a tragic ending! She was taken from us far too soon. Had she lived, she would have give Whitney, Celine and some other singers a run for their money. More Selena, please! Have you guys reacted to "Dreaming"? 🎤💕♥️😇
Yes, Selena's voice is incredible, slightly husky and with really crisp modulation, a really nice voice. As well as she speaks and sings in Spanish here, English was her first language when she was a child in Texas and she had to learn to speak Spanish in order to sing the Tejano music her family's band played. Another excellent Spanish singer whose first language was English and who y'all have done before is Linda Ronstadt. Another of Ronstadt's traditional Mexican songs that y'all should do is "La Cigarra."
No lip sync, no AI, no autotune. Just pure TALENT.

No earpiece! She could barely hear herself and there’s obviously a delay in reverb in a place so big. And that show was impeccable. May she rest in peace.

What a stunning beautiful woman and what a voice. What a loss due to her thieving fan club director. I am surprised Texas didn't give that woman the death penalty. If she is ever paroled she probably won't last long.
I just love this song by selena beautiful
I can't wait to watch this reaction when I get home!!❤❤ Love Selena and love y'all!!❤❤
I've never seen a reaction to Selena before, and now I know why.
RIP Selena💔
Jennifer Lopez did a phenomenal job portraying the beautiful young lady❤
I didn't like it, she was super overacted in the Astrodome scene, it seemed like she just wanted to break the stage with her heels.
Awwwww such a loss! She was absolutely amazing
Had such a Crush in the 90s.Such a Beautifull voice .🇨🇦
I was just thinking of her the other day. I can’t understand how someone can do what they did to her. She was on the path to even bigger stardom. It’s so unbelievably sad.
She is not gone yet ...
La Reina de Cumbia. This was her last concert before her death. I remember it all she was a year older than me. So I was enchanted like most others by her at a time when race still played a role and she helped to start breaking it down
This so sad and heartbreaking…
Her beautiful life was cut so short, by such a senseless tragedy.
What was Selena like in person?
Stunning! She was absolutely beautiful! That smile of hers was so captivating, and her laughter was infectious! So down to earth. Humble, sweet and a wonderful human being. Tragically her life was cut short, way too soon…💔🙏✝️🌹🕊️
That lady had a beautiful singing voice.
It still makes my heart ache to see her in old videos. She truly was an icon, and a beautiful person. She LOVED her fans and appreciated everything that came her way. She changed the way that Americans viewed Hispanic music. I can only imagine where life would've taken her :(
Selena nuestra Reina de nosotros los hispanos mexicanos 👍
Selena nuestra Reina de los hispanos mexicanos 👍
Amber & Jay, first of all, Rip To The Queen of Tejano Music, Selena Quintanilla Perez. A life taken away to dam soon. If she was still alive today, she would have been 52 years old n her music would have been crushing today. U guys have to continue to react to Selena's music. Rip Selena!!! Ur music continues to strive for newer generation's. God Bless U upo in Heaven's Tears.
We gringos love Selena, the Queen of Tejano music. Beautiful voice and soul. I am still sad about her murder. 😢

Remember she was from Texas so English was her first language and she had to learn Spanish.
Taken too soon from the world . I still cry. 😢
Selena was a tremendous talent. I think had the tragedy not struck, she would have been the biggest star in the world. That's about all...
I agree
I recently moved to San Antonio and I can’t speak or know any Spanish but I always listen the Tejano music stations here.
Im from the uk i love selena love her music
I was a metal head as a teen and my sister was a huge fan so i was inadvertently exposed to her music. While the genre wasnt my thing, there was no denying her vocal range and musical talent, she skyrocketed in fame in the 90s and became a latino icon who is still beloved to this day. The queen of Tex mex, a shame that her life was cut short by someone she trusted and who was jealous all along. Selena was also a knockout, one of the most beautiful latinas of her time, with the perfect coca cola bottle latina figure. She deserves all the adolation she recieved.
She was the Queen of Tejano music.
We miss her very much, she was blessed.
You should hear her rendition of Tu Solo Tu, a ranchera song, she delivers 110% emotion.
One of my favorites! 🎉
O tal vez a "No me queda más"
Or maybe to "No me queda más"
This is how it’s done, actual LIVE performance, no lip syncing to your own songs with the mic off.
Dude I just cry when I listen to her.. I don't know why.. she's just phenomenal and sadly gone too soon
Y'all need to play Baila Esta Cumbia! Love that song!
She was away ahead of her time. A queen 👑👑👑👑
I love that performance and Jennifer Lopez absolutely slayed that portrayal in the biopic, And this song was one of my favs. Had the soundtrack on cassette tape. I had just saw an interview and story about her on ET weeks before she was tragically murdered. So sad.
"I could fall in love with you." That's my Selena fave.
I guess it's like Opera in a foreign language. You can appreciate the voice, the tone, the feeling, without having to understand all of the words =)
Check out some old school selena "ENAMORADA DE TI " "MISSING MY BABY" "SI LA QUIERES" are some of my faves!! She was pure talent and could do it ALL!! The queen of tejano right there!! Sending love from Texas!! 💜
You can see why people loved her. When she smiles, she makes you want to smile.
I saw her live in 92-ish when i lived in Austin, TX. Such an awesome performer! It was before she went so mainstream. ❤ Yall should do the movie reaction.
What was Selena like in person?
I remember being in middle school and friends talking about and finding out that woman was going to be free, I forget...I think a couple years from that point. I still get chills from Selena
The Queen of Tejano. Pure beauty, pure soul, pure talent. When she died, a little of the pure goodness in the world left with her. Long live the music of La Reigna, you are dearly missed!
Every time I see a live Selena performance I tear up. Thank you for reacting to this. Please do More ❤
What a phenomenol voice! What a tragic ending! She was taken from us far too soon. Had she lived, she would have give Whitney, Celine and some other singers a run for their money. More Selena, please! Have you guys reacted to "Dreaming"? 🎤💕♥️😇
When singers could dance was amazing! However, when entertainers could sing, dance, act, and entertain was priceless!!!
I got chills! An amazing performer gone too soon, RIP
RIP Selena...Queen of Tejano music! She accomplished so much in such a short time of her life. Rest In Peace. 🙏🏼
Thanks Brother’s for supporting my people, God bless you, Selena the best always.
This song made the top ten on the tejano music charts, thanks guys
I was lucky enough to see Selena at the Acapulco Festival in 93
The woman that murdered Selena is the most hated woman in Texas, and one of the most hated women in the western word.
