The deeper click on the white owls is what sells me on them. This all but confirms that those are the ones I'll eventually end up getting. This is the sound comparison I needed!
these two sound very similar to me but my understanding is that they solve the sluggish upstroke of the jades while being more tactile than box white's and less heavy than navies. good value proposition, so hard to choose between this and the jade's...
These two don't compare very well honestly, the jade's are a much lighter switch so feel very different. The owls should really be stacked against the navy.
The problem with Kalih clickbars are that they are well above the actuation point, so the click has no link to the actuation of the switch. Much like with tactile switches, you are relying on the force to overcome the tactility being higher than the actuation force. Unlike (most) tactile switches, the clickbars have quite a lot of resistance, which IMHO defeats the point of having a clicky switch in the first place. It basically forces you to bottom out the switch anyway to overcome the clickbar resistance, at which point why have a clicky switch at all. Say what you will about cherry style click jackets but its much better tied to the actuation - it "sandwiches" the actuation point between the audible click and then subsequent tactile bump: you know when you have actuated your switch and its much, much easier to reliably type without bottoming out.
Awesome production quality. Would recommend the Shure A81WS wind screen for the SM57 if you want to transform it into a god-tier cardioid. I prefer the SM57 + A81WS sound over the SM7B which is hilarious considering the price difference.
I'm pretrty much only into linears, but the sound of the White OWL switches with the MT3 keycaps would be ideal for someone looking to recreate an old school keyboard sound. It kind of makes me want to get a new keyboard and build it with these switches, I really like the MT3 style caps and this would be great to annoy people with.
White owls or arctic fox? Both seem to be one of the best click bars. I own jades and pinks. Pinks are really nice but i need new switches for a keeb and thinking either the white owl or the arctic fox...
Do the original White Owls have south facing RGB problem? I was about to order the White Owl V2s until I read the "Pls pay attention: Switch only, White Owl can't support south-facing LED." Seems they mounted it so the RGB is coming from the north side of the switch vs the south :(
Artic Fox have his own sound and feel, you like it or not... I personally love it! Sound glassy... White owl and pink have a more standad click bar sound and feel. Sharper click, more define... White owl is more tactile than the pink
Hi! That's the weird thing... I also saw some mentions on White Owl V1 and V2 on different website, but on the website of Kailh, there is no mention of versions... If there is a v1 v2, the difference should be minor... Sorry I could not help you more than this...
Yeah exactly! I have reached out to kailh as well they couldn't confirm about V2 version. So I'm guessing the one u have reviewed in the video are V1's right?
@@ClickandThock Also do u think the white owl has the same thick click bar like Jades , Navys ? When I reached out to kailh, the customer care didn't answer about click bars at all.
Absolutely, Navy switches are closer to this switch than the Jade. But many people where asking me to compare these two, so I want to give it to them the soonest possible! But don't worry, Navy will be compare to these next week in the full sound test compilation!
These switches sound no where near the same in this video as they do in person. The sound is way more absorbed here. Unless you have this exact setup you will be disappointed.
Slightly annoyed at the sound test when you press and almost stab the white switches much faster than the jades instead of feeling out that double click like you did with the jades, hard to make a 1-1 comparison.

The more I use them, the more I love them! :)
They sound better like this on their own, but they ping so much when in the board that it ruins it for me. The owls are also much heavier actuation.
@@long-long. What you mean with ping?
Thank you for such a high quality and straight-forward video. Definitely decided on the White Owl.

Thanks for making this video!
I really have to try those White Owl ones.
If they feel as nice as they sound it will be amazing.
They feel really nice!
@@ClickandThock Already ordered couple for testing (:
Hey, sir! Very high quality video! Thank you!
Hey! Thank you, that's really appreciated! :)
Thanks for sharing. Finding the right switch for my mechanical keyboard definitely been interesting. Right now I'm using the Jades.
A great choice for sure! Thank you!
Dang~~ it is so hard to choose between these two!!! thanks for making the video!
😊

@@long-long. navy too heavy. just mod the springs to get the feel you want
@@EmpressHsiao is there a spring you can buy standalone that works well to make the navies lighther? or do you have to harvest from another switch?

I did it. NCR80 case is in. waiting for switches and white on black MT3 keycaps.
The video we needed ❤

I ordered set of white owls some time ago. Can't wait to test :) I currently have pinks
Pink are great too! But I way prefer white owls! ;) let me know how you like it when you’ll receive them!
No one has yet to ask about their scratchiness: which of the two is more smoother? Thanks brother
I feel like the light pipe makes it sound deeper

Both are great! But White Owl are more on the tactile side, and Arctic Fox have the most distinctive sound! That's up to your preferences!
Do jades work with north LEDs and cherry profile, I've heard of something that they are long-pole?
Great video!
Thanks!!
is it true that the white owls v2 don't support south facing led?
Thank you for posting this!!!!!!!
My pleasure! :)
Do any of these switches require lube at all? Have white owl switches on the way and have not lubed switches yet. Thanks in advanced!
clickys usually don't suggest to be lubed
Some lube the springs on BOX switches, but it is risky on clickies... Personally I would not lube them.
My white Owls came in. I love them! Thanks for the reply back

Could not tell sorry...
Is the White Owl really heavier than the Jades? They're recorded as needed less actuation force, and they also just feel lighter(to me).
To me too, but it is are to tell with switches with so much tactility... But yeah, the specs rate them with these springs weight...
How would you describe the differences between the White Owl, the Artic Fox, and the Box Pinks?

I really like my White Owls.
Among my favorite clicky switch!
What is the difference between White OWL and White?
Owl's are more tactile and bit deeper sound than white.
Could the White Owls just be a recolored Box White v2? Having a hard time finding the difference between them.
No, they feel notably different. The White Owl are heavier and more tactile than the White V2.
