I'd credit Niel Cicierega or DJ Cummerbund as the trendsetter, but that's not to discount Bill McClintock or William Maracini's contributions to the genre. If you've never heard of the others, go check them out too! All magnificent!

So wonderful to see Smokey and Van Halen together once more! I was worried their very publicized breakup wouldn't allow them to ever see eye to eye again.
These songs fit so well together, i bet if you played this for someone who hasn't heard both songs, they'd believe this is a real song and not 2 mixed together.

DUDE! I was thoroughly enjoying this but when EVH came in it took it to a whole other level! You can never go wrong using Motown in a mashup. Thanks for sharing your awesome talent!
At the very beginning, I was thinking Bill has finally made a clanger, and then came in the Straits, and the song started groovin'. Bonus points for the seamless EVH solo and footage of that guitar. Yet another soul-metal classic. Thankyou Bill!
These are so good that I can't listen to the originals without thinking of your remakes. And to be honest, I think you make some of the originals better. Well done.
*It amazes me how Bill keeps the grooves so solid and swinging..., and everything harmonizing so perfectly... The groove nails the pocket to the stage floor... Seriously...*
Almost every time you post a video, Bill, I read the title and think, "How the hell are those two bands/songs going to fit together?!" Then I listen, and they wind up fitting together so seamlessly that it's hard for me to imagine them any other way. Your mashups are especially magical in that way. :-)
It blows my mind how precise your mashup game is. You never really have to edit the tempo for any of the isolated tracks to make them fit like I notice with other mashup artists. Nor do you auto tune vocals to match harmonies. It’s a shame copyright laws prohibit you from getting money for your hard work
I have to thank you, Bill. Every time I listen to a new upload I get the biggest grin on my face when the vocals come in and mesh with the music. The brilliance of it always makes me giddy like a child on Christmas morning, quickly followed by the whole-body sensation of smoking weed for the first time and experiencing the highest high of your life. Yes, it's true - your work turns me into an eight year old pothead. Without a doubt, you have a very special gift and I can't thank you enough for sharing it with all of us. Please don't ever stop being incredible. (Someday we need to hook up and talk shop about music in general - I've played guitar and bass for 35 years and have written my fair share of original tunes.)
I discovered this guy yesterday morning and I have just finished listening to nearly every song on his channel, guys at work could not believe how it is possible to do this. Fantastic work
So beautiful... These fine works of art you come up with baffle the very psyches of almost 100,000 people across this world. I will tell everyone I know about this.
Absolute genius. I'm happy to see that people appreciate this and there isn't any "you ruined both of these songs I like the original and you're an ass for ruining my favorite song".

I'm always nervous about people fucking up Dire Straits for me, but goddamn this has changed my world.
Knopfler needs to see this, he would love it!
That was awesome

Too bad it can’t happen for real now. RIP Eddie. Sorry for your loss McClintock, I know you loved his work.

Tin Tizzy Whoah.....scary stuff!
@Tin Tizzy Nope. You need to have a sense of the scales being used and how they fit together. It requires talent and a bit of musical education.
