Flown into and out of Hong Kong a few times. Cathay Pacific 777-300ER and Dragon Air Airbus A320 or 21’s But whatever airline I fly, I do my best to get the Boeing Triple 7. I love the Triple 7 ER. Great airplane. Miss it with this damned Covid lockdown crap.

Really beautiful takeoff... scenery is extraordinary. My brother-in-law flew Cathay on many trips and said it was the best.

The 777 sure has a smooth wing, like even smoother than those of other planes.

It’s a real shame that Cathay Pacific never stood up for democracy in #HongKong with HK going down the drain now.
HK and Cathay are off my list now.

I got about 42 seconds from moving off and about 50 seconds from standing still to take off! Considering it said "heavy" i assume the aircraft was full of humans and luggage, obviously lol but it said "heavy" anyways, so it is obvious that the engines are highly powerful to take the aircraft that is heavy from standstill to take off in around 50 seconds or so.... or maybe the engines are highly shit, perhaps? Hmm, i wonder

Actually they’re pretty strong; in fact they’re the most powerful engines in the world: GE-90-115B. That’s 115,000 pounds of thrust per engine. You’re right, here you can really see how well engineered the engines and wing system are and respond to heavy conditions and operate in situations of little to no room for error. Impressive!

Large Wide-bodied jets like the 777, 747, 787, A330, A350, etc., are generally referred to on the radio comms as “heavies” regardless of payload. Nevertheless, those engines are the largest and most powerful engines ever made for a passenger aircraft.
