Ill never forget the time that Kane showed up at my prom when noone would go with me. We danced the night away together. Ill never forget. Thank you Kane
R.I.P KANE! I was wrongfully convicted of murder and the Tanaka's were the only people in my corner. Kane got her law degree at age 109 and my conviction was over turned on her 115th birthday! 🙏
I remember when I was a kid Kane was my school bus driver . She always had a beautiful smile in the wee morning . There were these kids that used too bully me on the bus and I would always see Kane looking thru the rear view mirror observing . One day it got really out of hand with these chumps and Kane slammed on the brakes , stopped the bus , and watched towards me. Put her sweet little hand on my shoulder , put her hand in her pocket and threw salt in all the bully’s eyes . They were left permanently blind . She was MY hero ❤️ #RIPKANE #KANECELLED #legend

Fellow St. Louis resident, who got to meet her in Staten Island. I’ve heard this tale before... just wish I could have been down @ the landing, to cheer her on, as she swam by.
I started watching this on my lunch in work, and laughed so hard at the opening remembrance montage that my manager had to do the heimlich! Me and Kane almost met because of chicken pasta & hey babe
I’ll never forget the day Kane and I were playing tennis at the Billie Jean King Stadium and she was helping me practice for the U.S. Open. I confided in her of course because she trained the Williams sisters to get where they are today. And in the last match I was down love 40 and she let me win. This gave me the confidence to go on and become the US open champion the next year.
Honestly I’ve gotta say, my favorite Kane Tanaka story is probably when I was 4 or 5 and at the knicks game with my dad. We had floor seats. I’ll never forget watching Kane steal the ball with 4 seconds left in the game, sprint down the court and jumped from the beginning of the paint to land an amazing dunk to win the game. Right after she came right up to me and signed my hat. What a great day
Kane was like my guardian angel and I have been blessed to witness her greatness during those times when i needed her most. I'll never forget that one time while on vacation in Puerto Rico that she surprised me by flying out to spend the week with me. We drank heinekens all day, swam with sharks, and at night we hunted (and caught) chupacabras. I'd never have been brave enough to do any of these things by myself but I knew Kaynita (as I called her affectionately) always had my back. My condolences to anyone mourning her loss. We are in this together 💜
This is what I needed. I woke up this morning, laying in my bed waiting to get up, turn my alarm off and I see Kane had passed. I was so upset and just couldn’t control my tears. Got dressed and balled my eyes out the whole way to work. Then I hear my phone notification go off and what do I see? This episode title pop up and right then and there I knew I f****ing knew Kane was looking down at me and telling me it was going to be alright and that Hey Babe was going to take it from here. Thanks guys!
One time I was abducted by aliens and they were about to probe me when i brought out a picture of Kane. They’d never seen anything like her. They were fangirling and discussing how advanced she probably is. They dropped me back off, crying and hugging me from appreciation. They left to seek Kane sightings. She didn’t disappoint them
unbelievable...you said it was 98 when kane came to be your moms girlfriend....well in 97, she was here in oregon, after rowing from japan..she loved her row boat. She was only here for a few days, as she was headed east, on foot to reverse walk the Orgeon trail since her mom actually dated Lewis of Lewis & Clark fame(as you know). Its nice to hear what happened after she left the west coast. R.I.P
We didn’t have the best relationship. Kane was convinced that I had had a “fling” with her great great great grandson. She didn’t believe that I was happily married and loved my wife. Unfortunately she was right. I feel bad that I never told her the truth. Forgive me
Kane was amazing! I met her in my travels to Japan and I had just gotten mugged by some crazies outside Nishiki Market. She came to me as I lay there beaten to within an inch of my life and incessantly was asking me who did it? I managed to see a couple of they guys down the road and summoned up enough strength to point them out. She told me she would be right back and I watched her speak to the guys. After awhile, they came over and gave all my belongings back to me and walked away. I asked Kane, "How did you do that" and she replied ever so gently "This has been Hey Babe". #TanakaStrong
I met Kane when I was taking the bus one day to work. We talked for a while, she said she was new to the states. After some chatting she asked if I knew where to make some cash. Long story short she became the biggest Cartel leader in Miami at the time. Ruthless that one. Beautiful spirit but absolutely ruthless. Rest Up Kane. Gone but never forgotten.
My #kanecelled story… It was 2002 I was 5 yrs old in Times Square attending a parade when out of the sky a green goblin on a flying saucer pillaged the event and a deflated parade balloon was falling and going to take me out when out of nowhere Kane Tanaka webbed herself and swooped down and saved me. She placed me down on the ground and said “everybody gets one kid”. Legend
I met Kane Tanaka back in '06 (2006) when we were both hiking the Appalachian Trail. She was only 103 at the time and a lot more active. Complete sweetheart, was making sticky rice for all the hikers. We enjoyed each other's company, said our goodbyes. Fast forward to 2017, I'm traveling in Budapest, I'm doing some shopping in a bazaar, and I feel someone grab my shoulder to turn me around. You guessed it - Kane Tanaka. She remembered me and just happened to be traveling in the same place at the same time. What a wild coincidence. We shared a chuckle. #Kanecelled #RIPKaneTanaka

Ah my late father met Kane Tanaka about 60 years ago in a long distance marathon, I think she had just turned 62 and was starting a keto diet. They had a fling for a few weeks before her youngest - if I recall he was 50 years old - died from complications with MS, AIDS and aggressive rectal cancer. When my father unfortunately died from sepsis 50 years later, in 2014, Kane cancelled her parasailing expedition in the Bahamas and rerouted her latest cross country marathon so that she could make the service before her Lacrosse tournament started, she even took our family out for golf and pushups after. She was so kind.
I got lost at the mall when I was like 7 years old it was the most scared I had ever been I ended up just hiding in the Macy's when suddenly a sweet old lady took my hand and told me everything was going to be alright, and stayed with me till I found my mom. RIP Kane Tanaka ill never forget you.
#kanecelled My favorite Kane memory is the day she saw me on the side of the road and helped with me fix my flat tire. She lifted up the car with ease stating that she was only using 1% of her power anyway. When she drove away I realized her car was a Flintstones car and it was foot powered……she truly is a survivor😫
#kanecelled I was born on 1.19.1981 and Kane was the nurse who delivered me, because she decided that year for the entire month of her birthday she would deliver all the babies in that hospital personally...cause that's just who she was. For my 19th birthday my mother gave me a note, from Kane, that said "I promise to stay alive until 119 to honor your birthday because you were the only baby that month who didn't cry once while I was in the room with you." I still can't believe she kept her promise. What a legend.
I'll never forget the time I went deep sea shark cage diving and my instructor forgot to lock the cage before I went under. As ten hungry sharks entered my cage, out of the deep Blue depths of the ocean appeared Kane. One by one she fought the sharks and pulled me out of the cage and then as quick as she showed up she was gone..I owe my life to you. R.I.P Kane.
Once upon a time, I was canoeing with some friends in Alaska and when the current got strong, all of my friends coasted ahead of me while I got stuck on a huge rock. I truly thought I was going to die, as there was a huge hungry bear approaching me. OUT OF NOWHERE, Kane Tanaka waddled out of the thick Alaskan forest, dove into the water, then popped up like a navy seal in between the bear and I. Kane proceeded to Chris Brown this bear like it was Rihanna in 2009! I sat in shock and began to thank her when she hushed me, and with one swift push, freed me from the rock in the river. The current started to pull me away and as I looked back and thanked her, she said “Everybody gets one. Tanaka out”, and bowed. Also just wanted to note, “WAP” by Cardi B was actually inspired by Mrs. Tanaka as she coined the term “Wapanese” long ago.
I first met Kane during the failed Fiala-Ziegler Expedition of 1903. Those cold nights we all huddled for warmth were burned into my memory. When we were rescued we numbered less than what we started with… All that remained of those brave men were the teriyaki stains on all of our teeth. What an inspiring life she led.
RIP my girl Kane! I’ll never forget when she delivered my first born child when I couldn’t make it to the hospital on the side of a busy highway. I was terrified but she kept me focused while telling me to push. She blessed the child then walked off into the sunset. That’s the last time I saw her…
My mother grew up on (not for nothin') S.I. in the 1950s. Mom was really into wrestling and went to many of the shows. She used to tell me stories of when Kane visited S.I. in the 50s, and Mom saw her at Weissglass Stadium several times at different matches. Kane obviously enjoyed wrestling as well. It's cool that you guys met Kane so many times on S.I. too!!
I remember when I got a flat tire and my girl Kane came straight to Texas, jacked my car and changed my tire. We went out to Korean bbq and I treated her to some bubble tea after. Kane was always there when you needed her. #Kanecelled #RIPKane
I remember when Kane was my kindergarten teacher. She was my absolute favorite teacher that I ever had! She is actually the one who taught me how to read AND write. Kane would also always sing us to sleep when it was nap time ☺️ She even provided the snacks for snack time from her bakery. #ripkane #kanecelled
I will never forget when Kane helped deliver my twins naturally in the same water as Pearl Harbor, as a sign of new beginnings she called over a dolphin as her assistant it was amazing. She will be missed ❤️
Never miss an ep but this time I wish I did because my heart can't take this loss. My favourite Kane Tanaka memory was from one of her tours to Canada. I bumped into her during the great Iditarod race... Literally bumped into her as her dog team came out of white-out at full speed and into my team cart. She flipped head over feet three times before landing on the snow on her back and as shocked as I was by this, it was nothing compared to my shock when she stood up to check her dogs before turning to me. With a grin on her face (if you know- you know) she told me she would come in second place and allow me to take first. I shit you not, Kane Tanaka didn't need the win as I did so she warded off all other racers and hand to God, I was first and she was second. She was just like that. #TanakaStrong #TanakavsEveryone #Kanecelled
Playing Elden Ring I had finally beaten one of those tree bosses and low on health I couldn’t make it much further and just then I saw those golden streams, I rushed towards to find them emanating from Kane Tanaka herself where I rested and leveled up, pure Grace
How could I forget Kane Tanaka she was my first sergeant when I got to my unit, she kept us all alive and well when we deployed to Iraq at the tender age of 105 RIP
A totally captivating, honest and respectful ode to Our Lady Of The Ages. This was the saddest and revealing memorial service I’ve ever been privileged to witness. She deserves a place on Lincoln’s lap. RIP.
27:33... I was visiting Staten Island, back in 2003, & I had the honor of meeting Kane Tanaka. I had just been mugged, & I was explaining the debacle to Kane, when she put her index finger over my mouth, said, “not today Satan”... She back flipped away from me, & returned a few minutes later, with a bag that had a $ on it, & a severed head under her arm. She asked, “is this the man that mugged you, Honey?” I said “Yes Kane, that’s him”. She put her hand up through his neck (like a puppet) & manipulated the mouth to say, “I’m sorry”, in a baby voice, then she drop kicked the head, into a trash can, that was about halfway down the block. #Kanecelled.
Sweet Kane 🖤 I remember the day my daughter was born vividly. My wife and I were flying from nyc to seattle when she realized that her water just broke. I was terrified as we were 35k feet up in the air. I yelled “is anyone a doctor here?” and to my suprise Kane stood up and offered to deliver the baby (she had been a practicing medical professional since her 89th year). Thanks to Kanes good nature and expertise, my daughter was born safely up in air. To this day I still believe Kane was a Angel sent from the heavens, may she Rest In Peace. 🙏🏻
For sure 😂😂🤣I completely lost it during the chihuahua story. Right after sal smacked his hands together. uncontrollable tears i kept having to rewind the pod i was laughing so loud
I was actually the driver of the truck that hit Kane. I was crying because I was so scared to hit that little dog but I couldn’t slow down in time so when Kane sacrificed herself I was shook. After I got out to check on Kane and ran to catch up to her body that flew 50 ft away I couldn’t believe that she was still alive. Goes to show how strong of a woman she is. She was so forgiving of me and even gave me a bowl of udon noodles. They were so delicious and now every time I eat udon I think of how heroic Kane was that day.
My favorite memory of Kane is when she forgot to put on sunblock at the beach in the summer of 88. She got so sun burnt we had to take her to the hospital and while there Woody Harrelson showed up with three of his friends, one of which feel off of his motorcycle with and broke his arm. One of the nurses wouldn’t let woody eat French fries from the cafeteria in the waiting room so Kane told the nurse “go scratch it’s the guy from cheers” and we all had a good laugh.
Back in 69 Me and Kane were tripping Acid at Woodstock when she told me she saw the day when she would die. "April 25th, 2022" she said with a grin on her face. I thought she was nuts since she was 66 at the time. People were mistaking her for my grandmother. Little did they know I had a thing for GILFS. I only flew her out there because I thought she only had a few years left. Now I'm seing it come to fruition. What a Life R.I.P #kanecelled
One time I was at a gas station and this old lady asked me for $10...I barely had enough for my hungry children but I said to myself..let me just help this lady and I handed her my last ten dollar bill..she accepted it then said I just wanted to see if you were kind and generous and now I want to give you $1000..it was Kane..she saved me and my starving children from certain death R.I.P. Kane
What I remember the most about Kane Tanaka is my first day at my MMA Gym. Kane, who was holding pads, stopped, and gave me one of the best sparring rounds of my life. Ush!!! Professor Tanaka...p.s she had one hell of a high kick. She was like Mr. Miyagi in that way..."Kick...the bucket... Kick!!! The Bucket!!!!
I remember Kane used to have a juice stand next to her sticky rice, udon noodle, and dessert business in Brooklyn. Now the neighborhood kids would always come by after school and she would give them all juice, free of charge of course. They all loved her and called her Big Momma Kane and she called them the Juice Crew. One of those kids would always stay and help handing out the juices and they became close. He was kind of small in stature so to boost his confidence, she bestowed on him the name, Big Daddy Kane. He went on to make music or something but he never forgot where it all began. #youwillbemissedKane
I saw Kane tanaka vs undertaker at wrestle mania …Kane really showed perseverance and captivated the crowed, she had a mask on and was about 7 feet tall in her prime . Rest in paradise, god bless you Kane
I was maybe 5 or 6 years old and I used to go out and spend the weekend at my grandmother's house out on the east end of long Island. My grandma would take me out to the park to count the deer and play on the swings and whatnot. One time, I strayed too far from my grandmother down a path and got turned around. I didn't know where my grandma was. I couldn't see her. I was kind of a wimp as a kid. I was very afraid of strangers. But at that moment Kane came out from behind some bush. My usual instinct would be to run, but something about her was just so warming and safe that I didn't run. She saw I had tears in my eyes from fear of being separated from my grandma and she got down on one knee to console me. This was back in like '95 so she was only 92 years old and she was still able bodied enough to take a knee. I was starting to calm down when she grabbed me by the shoulders, looked me dead in the eye and said "not all who wander are lost. The way home is from within" and with that she turned me around to face the direction I had come from at the exact moment my grandmother rounded brush and found me. I was so mystified I turned around to thank her and she was gone! And I shit you not, in her place was a signature Tanaka Treat. I don't know how she did it. I turned back around to run into my grandmother's arms and BAM! There's Kane already over there chatting it up with my grandmother. Turns out they're old book club pals. She called me over and told my grandmother how wonderful and brave I was when I was lost. She embedded into me a confidence that changed my life forever. She was always there to raise you up. It's just what Kane did.
One time about 7 years ago, when Kane was 111 years old i believe, we were practicing backflips on our harleys before a big event in vegas, and i was mid air and i was about to under rotate the flip, she came up beside me, stopped time in mid air to give me a motivational speach, got off her full dresser roadking and literally pushed my back tire to help me go the rest of the way, and land it 100% successfully. She got back on her bike, also landed her own backflip, ghost rode that bitch right to a homeless man and said "keep it" and then, no word of a lie, cripp walked right into a dunks and bought us both ice coffees and a couple blueberry muffins. You know why? Cuz thats what Kane does.. GOD BLESS 🙏

I'll never forget when Kane Tanaka took up pro wrestling as a hobby and debuted at Badd Blood: In Your House to confront the Undertaker
25:06 is one of the greatest sequences in Hey Babe history
i completely lost it during that story 🤣
It's cool that you guys met Kane so many times on S.I. too!!
so are we just gonna ignore Sal’s fresh cut?!😮
Haaaaaaaandsome!
She was a saint on Earth
Ten minutes in and I am genuinely crying with laughter. Oh god...
My great grandfather's grandmother's aunt was best friends with Kane Tanakas grandson's nephew. It was an honor for my family.
“If Kane’s on her bullshit, it’s gonna be a night.” 😂😂😂
Rip Kane. The best memories from both you two is fucking hilarious...... Just like 911 We Will Never Forget Kane Tanaka. April 25th Kane Tanaka day.
911 is 119 backward, what was Kane's involvement with Bin Laden? We may never find out the truth now with her gone.

I've missed you two babes together! What a great day! ❤✌🙂
You two are pure Joy!
THANK GOD! CRISSY IS BACK, THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOU!

RIP.
I’m so sad I missed this episode! Kane bailed me out of busy baking weekends so many time 😇 💖
RIP to the most beloved babe❤️ she would’ve loved this eppy
You two kill me 🤣🤣🤣. Love you guys so much. Ima go get some merch rt now‼️
Support the babes✊❤️😘
FYI loving the haircut Sal!!
I will never forget my high school graduation. Our class speaker was Kane and her speech was so moving. She has inspired me every since that day ♥️

Sal looking fresh to death with the haircut 💇♂️ love it babe!
Probably the funniest podcast I’ve ever watched
No not Kane! The babes will remember you!!
This is the best podcast in the world
These Kane stories are helping me get through this dark time without her 🕊🙏
Best podcast so far 😂😂😂 RIP Kane, we will celebrate you every day of our lives.
Babes are looking GOOOD!! 😍 RIP KANE T 🤧 God bless! 🤍
SALLYY WITH THE FRESH CUT
Kane Tanaka is Tonka Jahari’s great great grandma
One time I was at a gas station and this old lady asked me for $10...I barely had enough for my hungry children but I said to myself..let me just help this lady and I handed her my last ten dollar bill..she accepted it then said I just wanted to see if you were kind and generous and now I want to give you $1000..it was Kane..she saved me and my starving children from certain death
R.I.P. Kane
The babes look so good! loving Sal's hair
Kane taught me how to deadlift properly and also crochet. Love you Kane, rip!
I remember having my first drink ever with Kane, what a monumental moment. Will forever live on, we love you Kane. Rest In Peace
Wow I completely forgot about the Kane bar fight story, thanks for sharing the good times sally babe!
Instantly thought of the babes when I heard the news RIP
I remember Kane used to have a juice stand next to her sticky rice, udon noodle, and dessert business in Brooklyn. Now the neighborhood kids would always come by after school and she would give them all juice, free of charge of course. They all loved her and called her Big Momma Kane and she called them the Juice Crew. One of those kids would always stay and help handing out the juices and they became close. He was kind of small in stature so to boost his confidence, she bestowed on him the name, Big Daddy Kane. He went on to make music or something but he never forgot where it all began. #youwillbemissedKane
My favorite hey babe intro song. So heartwarming
I saw Kane tanaka vs undertaker at wrestle mania …Kane really showed perseverance and captivated the crowed, she had a mask on and was about 7 feet tall in her prime . Rest in paradise, god bless you Kane

RIP Kane. Genuinely saddened by the news of the passing of our sweet Kane.
GOD BLESS 🙏
Rip a true babe
