- A U.S Submarine Captain is feeling the pressure from his command for his failure to sink any ships . . . He's returned to port too many times with a full cache of torpedoes. The Captain hopes to sink just one ship, but he must be careful what he wishes for! - While he's hunting for Japanese ships, they're hunting him down and dropping depth charges! Based on a true story.

Great Radio Play - clearly written by a WW2 submarine - absolutely authentic. CDR Uehlinger, USNR ret.
The creators of Escape (and Suspense) prided themselves in authenticity. My dad served during WWII (USN) Most of his buddies died in the Pacific. THANK YOU for serving our country! BTW There's a couple more Escape episodes featuring subs: "Up Periscope" and "Captain's Final Log"

The narration of the story reminds me of an episode of Broadway is my beat. Another wonderful old time radio show!
@@jeremybear573 Another really good cop show is "The Lineup." In the future, that's one of the series I'm gonna add to this channel. Many of the episodes feature an orchestra for theme and background music, but a lot have only a keyboard. Others have posted The Lineup, so it's easy to find on YooToob. Somehow, I knew you'd like this Escape episode!
@@SuspenseESCAPEremastered I'm surprised I haven't found this episode in the past. I just recently looked at your playlists and seen that you had a World War cold war-era list and found that I have not listen to a lot of them in there. Show your playlist just make it easy for me now to find what I am in the mood for! And I seem to enjoy Escape episodes much more than suspense here lately. But yes I will look into the lineup and also Broadway is my beat with Larry Thor just puts me in a trance with the writing and the descriptive storytelling. Really captures that time. I believe are from what I have heard and makes me feel like I am walking in New York City during that time when I listen. Very descriptive

I'm the only channel to combine certain themes of stories or feature specific actors that way. I've listened to many episodes of "Broadway is my beat," and liked it.
