I'm in an interracial relationship, my family white and hers black, and both of our families were over the moon when we all met. We love them, they love us, we do holidays together. Never once has either one of us experienced even an inkling of racism from either side of the family. Most of time it’s out of hate, jealousy, or (believe it or not) love. Also this does have something to do with their lives. I support interracial couples as a Mexican/black, but I don’t like double standards, so to elaborate your argument is like saying not to vote on the president due to your vote being minuscule compared to millions of other people and thus seeming useless or a waste of time, but it has a big impact. Like Ryan said 2050 comes and most people will be interracial this will then affect their lives, they are just attacking the root not the branches but it still hurts the tree, if you get what I’m saying
It def stems from jealousy…and also moreover what I found out, ppl will hold back because their PARENTS or the way their family culture is may be against dating interracially
I think part of the reason these guys don’t have a similar experience when thinking about how their parents would react with them bringing a different race home is because they are all mixed themselves so their parents would easily already be more open to it. It would be interesting to see how their parent’s experienced the situation with their own families in bringing another race home. Great video overall tho!
Oooh I wanna hear that, they should ask their parents, get the story, ask if they could share, and then share it with us in a video! I would watch that.
Interestingly, I’m also mixed, but my parents both prefer me to date their own race. It’s not a huge argument, but they definitely make it clear I can only date my mom’s or my dad’s race- nothing beyond that.

@@imanigordon6803 I think it's all races tbh. My parents were fine and just wanted to know that the guy would treat me right, but I have aunts/uncles that have made their disdain for other races clear behind closed doors but they'll be nice if they're speaking directly to the person.
@@thegoldthatglitters Black Americans engage in stereotyping as a black man I can acknowledge that but the thing is black Americans can acknowledge when are stereotyping is harmful or racist because we have that historical empathy. I'm Black (mixed) and i prefer white/hispanic woman. I live in Brazil so interracial relationships is a pretty common thing here, no one bats an eye. I actually think most of ppl here doesn't even know about the term 'interracial'☠️ The fact you can get judged for loving is so outrageous, ppl need to stop w this bs
Ye you see it depends which part of the world you live in or which household you in maybe you are ignorant of the concept interracial but I bet if you did some form of research you would discover it’s more of a problem than you think in your area.
I can't speak for traditional Asian families, but I dated a Chinese girl last year that never wanted to take me around her parents. We cut things short before we got to that point, but it really felt like she was almost hiding me or something. Felt a bit of second hand embarrassment from it. So this video kind of puts things into perspective for me
Personally from what I've seen, parents from South/East Asian families are fine with interracial relationships as long as it's with a white person but never really with a black person. I have extended family members who are even married to white people, but I have yet to hear of anyone being in a relationship with someone who is black. And yeah, definitely a LOT of racism in these households.
I had a Korean girlfriend once and I never seen her mother even once the 9 months we dated. She would always peak out the window when I was there to pick up my ex
Honestly as someone who's mom is jamaican and dad is Irish I feel like I got really lucky because both sides of my family love eachother. At the same time I'm dating a latina girl and she tells me that her aunts discriminate against people like me
I had a friend who liked this Indian guy and he finally told her they couldn't go further because she's black and his parents would disapprove which was sad for me to see her get upset. My ex was mixed(White & Jamaican) & I'm also mixed(AA, Caribbean-Danish) myself but was darker than him and I was nervous of meeting his mom because she was white, but I ended up loving her and she did as well. I don't mind dating other ethnicities of men because I tend to learn alot from them and just enjoy meeting people from different walks of life.
There’s definitely some family issues. i’m black, and I typically prefer white/hispanic women. I also live in the south. I dated a white woman for 3 years and her dad never met me once. I met everyone else in her family. ( including grandparents ) My family have never encouraged me to bring home a Black woman, they just want it to be a GOOD woman.
10:53 I'm in an interracial relationship, my family is white and I've dated black and Hispanic people. Not sure if having racist parents is common, but it's not rare. My mom is totally fine w my interracial relationship, but my dad legit freaked out abt it n thinks it's "wrong" 😮💨 Makes it tough bc I can't even introduce my partner without him having a meltdown. Other than him, there are 2 other people in my family who have problems with my racial preferences, they're both very old. Everyone else in my family, especially the younger generations, fully support my choices n honestly don't give af about race. In my experience, its usually older generations that are racist. When the 2 other family members I'm talking about were young, interracial marriage wasn't even legal. And back in my dad's day it was extremely uncommon. I'm not giving them an excuse to be racist, there's no excuse for having such a terrible mindset and I hate that they're like that. I'm pointing out that's most likely the reason they feel that way, bc things were very different back then n it obviously had a negative effect on them, some of the older people at least.
i´m not korean and im not saying that every korean person follows these standards but one of the Korean beauty standards is "pale skin" witch pretty much says it all.

I'm 100% Ethiopian I moved to America when I was 3 years old and my parents are pretty traditional. They are in no way racist but I know they would like me to marry someone who is Ethiopian. It's like they have a ethnic preference for me. I know I wouldn't be the disowned or anything if I dated outside my ethnicity but there's definitely sent a pressure and I would definitely catch some slack from some family members back home.
Damnnnnn I'm 100% Kenyan my parents definitely traditional as well they be concerned about the race and the tribe I be dating ... they're more worried about the culture of others not worrying about their own ...we be chilling but damn
There’s nothing wrong with having a preference which is the case with your Ethiopian family. It’s only a problem when a family says derogatory things about other countries or races.
as a white person it's so embarrassing when your family is racist to your potential partners, i brought a guy home who happened to be hispanic and one of the first things they asked him is if he was "legal"
@@user-hz4sd1zi9lSo glad my parents aren’t like this, even though they have their weird biases they know it’s inappropriate to do shit like that. I can’t say that for my bf’s friends tho or his family
It’s not horrible. It’s a cultural thing. I’m Indian and dating before marriage is prohibited and an actual sin. Even if I dated someone in my same race it’s not allowed to show off your relationship unless you are married. It’s frowned upon in the Indian community to have premarital relationship and it’s even worse to advertise it. My husband understand our culture and the first time he met my parents was when we got married and first time I posted him was when we were engaged and we got married the same week as our engagement
More power to you but I personally don't want to be in a relationship with someone who isn't ready for one. If your culture is telling you "no dating" and you're doing something else you need to figure out what you want in life before forcing your problems onto somebody else.
@@NoName-1239 did they say their family was Indian like yours? no. stop trying to undermine their experience when it is a simple race problem regardless of culture
I’m in an interracial relationship. I’m black (born and raised in England) and my partner he is half Indian and half English. His family weren’t necessarily racist but when visiting their hometown (a quiet town in England), I got a lot of stares from people. In my city (London) it’s pretty diverse and so we don’t get stares here. Just the odd comment that we are a cute couple. Most don’t comment on the race aspect but a few have.
I'm biracial, and i don't have a racial preference, but when it comes to Arab and East Asian families, it's known that they're anti black, and i personally couldn't be in a relationship where my partner's family is racist.
I’m black I feel like staying on your own kind and culture feels good because I can relate with music, dances and have home cooked meals that is the same or different that I don’t have to look crazy for somebody else cooking for a different culture respectably. But it’s interesting of mix culture side of things but pure culture always seems easier because you don’t have to worry about too fit in on each side of the family. Which this video proves how they struggling to fit in with other types of cultures families.
I remember this one time this girl who was Hispanic and white told me she didn’t think her parents would want us together. Then they told her to break up with me when we met them and I was respectful and kind to them.
I'm a 18 yr old Black man and I've only ever had 2 girlfriends, both of them being Hispanic. one is my ex from some years ago her mom liked me and didn't really mind me being black, as far as I remember she never even brought it up, she was accepting from the jump. And the second one me and her really aren't supposed to be talking because her mom doesn't like me, but we still talk. And I'm very grateful that even though her mom has a certain opinion on me, she still talks to me. Gotta lotta love for this one
In a interracial relationship here. I’m dating a mixed woman but more on the black side. I come from a Hispanic family. My parents aren’t disrespectful or rude towards her but they’ll at times believe certain stereotypes of black people that are pretty much racist. I’m not sure if it was easier to introduce her to the family because she’s mixed, but they’ve always said that I can date whoever I want. On my mother’s side though, they’re purely Mexican. Everyone was surprised to hear that I was dating a black woman. Either way, there wasn’t any major conflicts in the beginning stages. Anyways, good topic to make a video on. Keep up the good work guys 👍
After reading all these comments I have to a conclusion that all races hate specifically black people because of their colour. All I know is that God would always love me because he created me in his image and likeness.

It's pretty much the same thing if your African. I'm Nigerian so my parents really want all their children to marry Nigerians. And because of tribes it even goes further where it should be Igbo as I'm Igbo. My parents though have warmed up to the idea that their children may marry out of the race. I believe with a lot of countries that are more traditional It's more so values. Some cultures have different ways in which they act and values they hold that at times It's seen as getting with another person outside this system may hurt the relationship. As they may not be able to understand or accommodate these values as well. It really depends some parents get more free as time progresses. It took my parents a while but they warmed up because we've been here for 15 years. I'm not speaking for all Africans but a vast majority of them do want their children to marry within the ethnicity if not the tribe.
i’m 100% congolese and so is my 24 year old sister. my sister dated a ghanian man for 5 years and my mom tried to sabotage their relationship the entire time because she wants us to marry a congolese man only. she promised to not be in her children’s lives, to not show up to the wedding, the list goes on. it doesn’t even matter if you’re black. if you’re not congolese she won’t like u. my dad doesn’t care about interracial dating but he doesn’t have a mind of his own so whatever my mom says goes. i’m talking to a ghanian man as well and i’m never introducing him to my mom lol
interracial relationship here im indian my GF is mexican Yea, I could say my parents were fairly just closed minded and just flat out racist about it, hers were actually fairly progressive nothing too too out of the ordinary. mines know about her and love her, and hers have come to like me as well, it is what i would say just more of a time thing especially as an Indian growing up you are told multiple times you are only allowed to marry other Indians. As most things there are adjusting periods, but in todays day most things are accepted
I’m black and in my early 20’s and I don’t believe in dating outside of race for practical reasons. So yes it is still common to not be okay with intersticial dating. You 3 are very uncommon
Korean Beauty standard is to be fair and perfect. Being Fair = Beautiful. My korean friends was joking saying that if you look ugly or bit a dark skinned , they should forget about jobs idk. They have high beauty standards. (Please do correct if I'm wrong , sorry If it was offensive)
My grandma on my dad’s side is racist she tells me and my sisters all the time our kids won’t have any culture if we date outside of our race or that we can’t bring our significant other to any family function if she’s there cause she won’t let him in. I honestly just ignore her because my dad was married to my mom and some point and she’s biracial
So my mom is a sort of traditional half korean mom and yes it is somewhat true about them wanting their kids to date a korean person. But it is most of the time the first born child. Its mostly yeah older folks and more modern korean families accept everyone.
I’m in an interracial relationship, but I’m also mixed and my sister is also in an interracial relationship and was worried about introducing him to our grandmother and other family members on my dads side (Guyanese) bc almost everyone else is with someone thats brown, except my dad and there might’ve used to be problems with my mom but there aren’t anymore and so when my sister and I introduced our bfs to them it went so much better than we thought, idk about her bf but mine even got a hug from my grandmother and she was happy to meet him and said ofc to treat me right and all that, and my sisters bf’s family got along well with all our relatives which was surprising Idk how it was for my parents or my half sisters mom when she was with my dad but at least for me and my siblings, my family has been really great One cousin has issues within her family regarding her parents feelings about her interracial relationship she was in but that’s their own thing going on
My Korean mother in law HATED me, not only did her son move to America to be with me But I also was White. like it was so bad she stopped talking to him until his dad told her to get over it. (There's still a bit of bad blood between us but I just hope she treats our kids like she would if they were fully Korean) (Also his grandma cried (Not out of joy) because our kids were going to be mixed) my parents/family Didn't give a fuck..... There's Multiple Mixed race couples in my family and I had only ever dated None white guys so it wasn't surprising to anyone that I didn't end up with the same race
I'm native, and my boyfriend is from Nigeria. He has met most of my immediate family. But we've talked about introducing me to his family once we're married. His family is christian and has nothing but good intentions. In his culture though, you are supposed to ask for a blessing. Since we're in British Columbia (Canada), we think it's best to continue going to church together and keep praying for patience, kindness, and strength from the Lord. I know you guys aren't Christian but your honesty and jokes always make me laugh and come back for more. please keep up the good work:)

She never told her parents about me I dont think cause she wouldnt kow if they approved. She got to know some of my family members and they liked her. I think Interracial dating should def be normal by now to us and the younger generation. Also they said a lot of things I was already thinking about in the video so shout out to Noah, Ryan and Rob.
with me (being black) and my bf (him being indian), unfortunately we did have to take that into consideration despite wanting to believe especially in this day and age that race wouldn't be the main focus or issues.
Parents wanting there children to have a partner of the same race is definitely still a thing. My first real girlfriend was white and when I told my mom the first thing she asked was is she black and would make comments while on the phone with my aunties who would also ask the same first question. It was the same with my current gf who is Hispanic and the first thing my mom and aunties say when I tell them is “Ik she not black” as of there’s a problem
i mean something you gotta remember is that america really is special in terms of being exposed to different races and cultures. countries like korea used to exclusively have koreans not that long ago so it’s not something most koreans are used to. as a korean american though i can say that even my parents have different opinions on the topic. my older dad isn’t as open about dating other races but my younger mom is completely fine with it. i find it hard to believe everytime i see it but there’s plenty of koreans who have never met or even spoken to a non-korean person. also korea’s relations aren’t too good with places like japan so maybe that also makes koreans want dating to be exclusive to koreans? not sure about that but in the end i do still believe korean parents have biases towards koreans when it comes to dating.
I think for me I have Taiwanese parents and my dad is not as racist as my mom and I think it’s because my dad went to high school and college in California. My mom on the other hand moved here when she was about 50 so she tends to lean toward the stereotypical beliefs about black and Indians.
My parents (black)are open and ok with my boyfriend who is white. My dad loves him and it was the biggest moment of my life. I asked my dad if he likes james and he said he had no problems because he was a very respectful man. He said as long as i am happy he doesn’t care
Is it really the stereotypical or socialized version of the "big booty" if it results from you being overweight🤔 isn't it safe to presume that with a heavier weight will come a big butt...🤷🏾♂️
From most of the Asians I dated, the parents and older family members be the ones that are straight up openly racist. They are ok with interracial dating if you’re complexion is lighter than theirs, otherwise you’re probably not seeing anyone from the fam/ gonna last long

I have extended family members who are even married to white people, but I have yet to hear of anyone being in a relationship with someone who is black. And yeah, definitely a LOT of racism in these households.

I'm not speaking for all Africans but a vast majority of them do want their children to marry within the ethnicity if not the tribe.

i mean something you gotta remember is that america really is special in terms of being exposed to different races and cultures. countries like korea used to exclusively have koreans not that long ago so it’s not something most koreans are used to. as a korean american though i can say that even my parents have different opinions on the topic. my older dad isn’t as open about dating other races but my younger mom is completely fine with it. i find it hard to believe everytime i see it but there’s plenty of koreans who have never met or even spoken to a non-korean person. also korea’s relations aren’t too good with places like japan so maybe that also makes koreans want dating to be exclusive to koreans? not sure about that but in the end i do still believe korean parents have biases towards koreans when it comes to dating.
