- With showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premiering worldwide on Prime Video this Friday, I recently got to speak with Morfydd Clark (Galadriel) and Charlie Vickers (Halbrand) about making the highly anticipated series. During the interview, they talked about what they’re most excited for people to see in the series, their characters‘ relationship, what LOTR fans would be surprised to learn about the making of The Rings of Power, their favorite Season 1 episode, and their favorite moment from the original Lord of the Rings movies. In addition, they talked about filming the Sundering Seas sequence and how they pulled it off. While the rest of the year has some big shows set to premiere, Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was my most anticipated series. I actually got to watch the first two episodes, and they’re incredible. Everything from the cinematography to the costumes to the movie quality sets. And, of course, the cast. They seem like decent, honest people. Very glad they’re involved in this series. Also both are insanely hot and they have incredible chemistry together.
It's so wonderful seeing two actors so humble and respectful to each other working on a big production. They have such an incredible balance-chemistry both on and off screen I genuinely cannot wait to see more of them

And I’ve been somewhat defender of this show , somethings are interesting it’s nice to see Númenor & Khazad-dûm , Lindon & Eregion , but the characters are all wrong Galadriel is powerful buts she was never a warrior ( I’ve got nothing against the actress , this video made me like her more )
I just hope with the second season the stick more to what was written, though there is NO full narrative story set in the 2nd Age like LOTR was for the 3rd & Children of Hurin was for the 1st , there is still plenty of “Historical moments “they have either disregarded or changed in a way the is unforgivable to those who live and breathe Middle earth lore

Genuine question… have you read the Silmarillion?
If you haven’t what is it about the show that you love ?
Because many who’ve read all the Legendarium really dislike the show , I know we have our biases but shouldn’t a show like this cater to us and not those who are new or “casual” fans of LOTR by way of the Peter Jackson movies

@@SpecialOrder935 I have read all the legendarium. The Silmarillion twice. As far as being catered to, I could care less. It's not exactly my vision but at least it's being made. I could talk for hours about it, scene by scene, likes and dislikes but overall they've done a brilliant job creating something that stands with the legendarium rather than on it's own completely.
@@SpecialOrder935 Strike that. I don't think i've read The Fall of Gondolin. I've read about it in lost tales, unfinished tales, Children of Hurin etc but I don't think i've read the novel. It kinda seems like a money grab but I may check it out anyway.
@@SpecialOrder935 I have read the Silmarillion, Beren and Luthien, The Fall of Gondolin, The Hobbit and the entire trilogy of the Lord of The Rings and I still think this series was very enjoyable

Both seem pretty egoless, particularly Charlie because a lot of male actors can come across as being overly proud of themselves

Season 1 has these faults but also qualities on the visual level this series crushes by far House of Dragon but I do not compare what is not comparable! Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne the showrunners would be replaced by more experienced screenwriters for Season 2 Wait and see

Morfydd is the worst cast character in a very poorly cast show. Charlie was alright and a few others. Hard to tell though with how horrible the writing was. Pacino would of looked boring and dumb with that writing.
Make up a better false account name than ralph malph. And just go away. If you can't use your real names, your baseless claims mean nothing.
@@garycharboneau4219 except this is the acct i started on yt when it started and it woulsnt bother you so much if it wasnt painfully obvious the acting and writing is terrible. If someone posted that Michael Jordan sucked.... i wouldn't bother responding because he clearly doesn't. This show sucks by any metric.
Now you can still like it because taste vary. But you having bad taste doesn't make that show good.

This was not sold as an adaptation, this was sold as "Tolkien" remember, the showrunners in February 2022, Vanity Fair? Comic-con: "back to the books, back to the books, back to the books?" Having standards is not stubborn, it's normal, but have provided the key quotes from you, if you chose to release yourself from "rings of power". Peace be too you.
The heresy is all you Trolls that are fake accounts on youtube trying to take down Rings of Power. Like the movie Lord of the Rings, this series will cut and destroy the countless idiotic cartoon caricature websites. They will lose 80 to 50% of the money they now make. Too bad. A real person acting on Rings of Power is MUCH more enjoyable listening to boring monologs with stupid drawings that don't move or talk. And young kids and old kids will be introduced to 80 year old Tolkien stories described in modern terms.
Get a life guys! Video will kill the cartoon drawings of Middle Earth, just like Peter Jackson's movies did. Welcome to streaming video in the modern world.
@@garycharboneau4219 well there are bigger issues with streaming now, as they are now creating a decentralised environment that is ultimately gonna collapse the system. ROP is different because its a corporate machine Theyocracy spending a billion that wasn't faith to the lore and spirit of the text...so much was lost...oh well.
Heresy is a religous word. It doesn't apply. Cutting down a much desired Lord of the Rings series in my opinion is wrong. WTH are you trying to prove? What do you want to happen? Show cancellation?
