I love how you knew what every item was when you took it out of the box. I spent like an hour trying to figure out all the mounts and still didnt know what half of them were untill you explained it!!! Thanks!!!
Your video is far and away superior and informative to the instructions that comes with this camera. I did quite a bit of research prior to making this purchase as a 2016 Christmas gift for the wife, and your video was the deciding factor. That said, this camera is an amazing value and all of its accessories are fully compatible with the GoPro. I purchased an accessory mount kit that includes a full scuba diver's package; bicycle/motorcycle mount; helmet mount; dashboard mount; multiple sticky base mounts; and a versatile sturdy close-pin style clip mount - all of which when added with the cost of the camera was still less than 1/2 the cost of the GoPro alone. I fully agree with your evaluation and endorsement and recommend this product to anyone looking for quality action camera.

I watched your video when I bought my Akaso. The video is perfect. I haven't used the camera in a few months and forgot so much about it. I just watched your video again and it restored my memory. In your clips, I noticed the distortion that is typical of these cameras, especially on the masts of the boats. I use Cyberlink PowerDirector as my video editor and it has a nice feature that fixes the distortion. Even though the Akaso is not listed on the drop down menu in the editor, I select the GoPro settings and the distortion is gone. One more thing, I lost my wrist remote. I bought another brand of remote from Amazon but it does not work with Akaso even though it looks exactly the same. I cannot find a replacement that works. Any suggestions? Thanks again for a great tutorial.
Interesting to hear about distortion correction. Thanks. Pretty sure remotes are specific to certain cameras unless you are talking SJCams, GitUp. etc. Do Akaso sell them? I guess you tried that?
@@bobflyman Thanks for your response. I just looked again for a replacement wrist remote for Akaso. I cannot find any. Using the cell phone app is a substitute but certainly not as user friendly. Ride safely.

I just received this camara. Thank you for the instructions, made it a lot easier to figure out. The GOLDEN HIND!!! Ohhh my favorite ship design of ALL ship designs. I'm a professional model ship builder, past 30 years. I'm halfway through building this model, diffrent colors tho. Captain Francis Drake sailed this little rascal around the World in 1578-80. The first English ship in the Pacific! Fighting the Spanish and seizing their Gold, ( that they stole from the locals.) Of five ships that left England in 1578 this is the only one that went all the way around. Drake returned to England FULL of gold and silver. So much , he payed all of the investors in full and replenished Queen Elizabeth the 1st treasury. Thats why and when Captain Francis Drake was Knighted Sir Francis Drake. This replica ship is where Drake began his voyage. That's why this ship is where it is today. Sorry for the history lesson, from South Carolina (named after a English woman,) USA. Thank you.
Amazing history lesson and I'm glad you found my video useful. Sorry to have to tell you about that particular Golden Hind. It hasn't sailed anywhere mate 😫. It's a replica built around an old steel barge. 😥. I knew one of the guys who helped construct it. From Google ... The original Golden Hind, an English galleon captained by Sir Francis Drake, was broken up after rotting away for nearly 70 years on display in Deptford, London: After Drake's return from his circumnavigation of the globe between 1577 and 1580, the Golden Hind was displayed in Deptford as the first maritime museum. Deterioration The ship was exposed to the elements and eventually disintegrated. Disposal The majority of the wood was buried in Convoy's Wharf, an old Tudor shipyard. Preserved itemsA . Av feww pieces of timber were used to make a chair that was donated to Oxford University's Bodleian Library. A table in the Middle Temple Hall in London is also thought to have been made from the Golden Hind's wood. A full-size replica of the Golden Hind was built in Appledore, Torridge, North Devon. Uk. and has been on display to the public for most of its life.
@@bobflyman Aye, I knew the original rotted away but I didnt know this one is built on an old barge... Gezzz that's sad. I thought this replica was built in the 1960's and sailed around the world! Anyway, it's not important, thank you for explaining it to me. Now getting back to the original subject, the camara, my sisters sent me one so I can send them videos on my motorcycles. I was confused about a few of the screens, I couldn't find them, I had to press the on off button to get to them. Also thank you for showing how the clip on attaches to the skeletal frame, I didnt know that. Take care Sir, stay safe and thank you again. Your friend has a wonderful model shop.
Lol , im not but was on amazon looking at gopro's and thought for a minute it said $34 but then i saw it said $394 lol and saw this on for $94 and was very skeptical so hit youtube for a review and footage seems pretty dam decent , i would still like to get a gopro in future but most defiantly will get this till i have the extra cash for a gopro , XD
I wanted and got a blow up doll, but I can't find the explosives. Although it does say something about supplying my own dynamite, which cheapens the experience!!??
Great review! I’ve just got one of these as I want to record some of my treks on my motorbike and it looks decent quality. Many thanks (new subscriber🙂)
The screen turns off after a few seconds. So You press record with the screen on and then the screen turn off but the recorder remains recording and the light blinks. When you ready to turn off the video, you press the button to turn the screen on then press it again to stop recording. After you leave it alone for a few seconds the screen turns off again.
Sully Films it really is a beast. It record almost the exact same as the gopro hero 5 and it’s only like 70 dollars now. Plus you can get every mount for only 18 dollars. It is a 100% steal
2 Questions, is it clean & Unlimited runtime? I plan to use a Camlink, and run it as a webcam, but i need toi know if you can hide the overlay (numbers/battery sign/etc), and also, if it never turns off the screen when plugged into a computer.
Was thinking about this for my 10 year old daughter. We are going to Santorini on holiday soon and she has been begging us for some kind of action camera. I think this will be a good purchase for that kind of thing. Your review has been helpful and you’ve gained a subscriber buddy! Thank you 😊
Thank you, excellent tutorial. Have just purchased one and grateful for all the information which is sometimes hard to find included. Ride safe my friend.
I made a PVC pipe based underwater camera rig for the akaso 7000 and it is awesome. Also built an underwater rob for this camera just need the motors now. Remember your microsd card speed will determine resolution and fps so make sure you get a class 10 card. For the price this is a very nice sports cam.
interesting unboxing video... nice shots of the video samples, thanks for that. I have 2 of the gopro units. When buying a gopro, all you get is a single mount, the camera and the charging usb cord... that is it. This one has a very impressive selection of accessory items included, including the waterproof case. I'm just not a fan of the distorted fisheye look of any action cam lens. Every single action cam uses a wide-angle lens, and the wide angle distortion must always be removed in post, which never really quite works and almost never looks right. Everything that is included with this device must all be purchased separately with gopro, and their stuff is expensive. The waterproof case and the added second battery are very nice touches. I've since stopped using gopro cameras mostly because I hate the wide-angle distortion from the lens. Cameras these days can be made without a "Wide angle fisheye lens," so I don't know why the action cam companies insist on using them.
Check out my Firefly 8s video, that one is 090 degs. The 8SE that I tested is 170 which is most common as you say. You can have type lens with the Firefly models
Reading your channel description . I see paraglider - para sailing is the main focus . As I live Florida I ran across what I first thought to be a parasail . I came upon it on the side on the road by what in the UK I believe is called a Rubbish bin . In American speak it is the dumpster . There was boxes and a lot of stuff beside it one night before trash pick up . I looked it over and brought it home . After so googling I found it to be a surf kite . It was in overall good condition . Although after research I found it needed a bladder . I understand they fill the bladders with gas the lighten and get lift . I just sold it on craigslist a month ago. After it had been stored away in a closet for 1.5 years . I asked 75.00and got it . I more so was happy to see someone that was going to gain enjoyment from it . That otherwise couldn't afford the sport . Well that is the closest story I have to parasailing . Have a pleasant day .
Excellent presentation. I really enjoyed it all and in particular the attention to detail, explanation of the various functions and so clearly spoken and described. Thanks.
One of the neat things about this camera is that you can 180-degree the image (via settings), so you can mount upside-down -- say, under a bike saddle -- and still record the right way up!

I have now turned off loop recording and got a class ten and it is still only doing ten minutes at a time. Any more ideas? Wondering whether mine might have something wrong with it?
Weird? Sounds like there might be something wrong. What happens after 10 mins? Just shuts down? You could try going into the menu and restoring factory defaults I guess?
Thanks mate. I have shown the way I mount on my helmet on some videos, can't recall which! I stick the pad on the side and use two stand offs to connect the slide in bracket thing to the camera. That gives it a 90 deg twist and keeps it an inch or two clear of the helmet. You'll figure it!

Thanks this helped me out I'm getting one of these to film horse riding videos and I was hoping it wasn't going to be to hard to use
I want one for multiple things but the biggest push is im getting into music and want to make good quality music vids , but will also use for off-roading and other stuff , maybe ill where it an run and tumble down a hill for the fuck of it lol
Saint Legna I just got mine about three weeks ago and it's awesome I totally recommend it!
Saint Legna .
Emilie C does the sticker leave a mark on ur helmet??
Thanks for the vid...my camera just arrived today from amazon and I followed your out the box instructions to set it up
I watched your video when I bought my Akaso.
@@stemmlerd Thanks mate.
Incredibly well explained even after 6yrs later, I can consider this cam to my normal moto blogging ... Thank you Sir keep bringing best reviews, also can you tell me di you still have this cam & is it still working this well?
Thanks. It's a good camera, though I don't have it now as I gave it to a friend, it is still working. Have fun!
@@bobflyman i have ordered it as i was getting it for $30 in a deal, let's see how it performs, BTW it will be my 1st moto blogging action cam, you are 🤗 welcome

Wow, excellent.
Does it still work? I want to use 128 as well

Just got it for christmas it is awsome
Nathan Sauve me too!

The original Golden Hind, an English galleon captained by Sir Francis Drake, was broken up after rotting away for nearly 70 years on display in Deptford, London:
After Drake's return from his circumnavigation of the globe between 1577 and 1580, the Golden Hind was displayed in Deptford as the first maritime museum.
Deterioration
The ship was exposed to the elements and eventually disintegrated.
Disposal
The majority of the wood was buried in Convoy's Wharf, an old Tudor shipyard.
Preserved itemsA
.
Your friend has a wonderful model shop.
this was REALLY helpful. no joke!
Great review, wasn’t sure about getting one, now I defiantly am. Very detailed review, thanks
Who else is watching this because they want it for Christmas?
John Beckerley hahaha i bought it for my dad... i hope its good
Lol , im not but was on amazon looking at gopro's and thought for a minute it said $34 but then i saw it said $394 lol and saw this on for $94 and was very skeptical so hit youtube for a review and footage seems pretty dam decent , i would still like to get a gopro in future but most defiantly will get this till i have the extra cash for a gopro , XD
Getting it for my birthday hopefully (thanks dad)
I wanted and got a blow up doll, but I can't find the explosives. Although it does say something about supplying my own dynamite, which cheapens the experience!!??
Great review! I’ve just got one of these as I want to record some of my treks on my motorbike and it looks decent quality. Many thanks (new subscriber🙂)
Ride safe mate!
Is there a way for the lcd screen to remain turned off and record videos ?
Also how to get rid of time stamp like in first test clip (at bottom right corner)?
DerCennectPen yes in the settings but don't expect this camera to be a beast it's 50 bucks on amazon
DerCennectPen no
The screen turns off after a few seconds.
Just got one! The price is awesome and the quality is good as a GoPro..!
The video is speeded up in places - THAT'S WHY MY HANDS LOOK SHAKEY! ok ;)
2 Questions, is it clean & Unlimited runtime? I plan to use a Camlink, and run it as a webcam, but i need toi know if you can hide the overlay (numbers/battery sign/etc), and also, if it never turns off the screen when plugged into a computer.
Wow 1024res I'd really had thought that was 4k.
@@RAWAYyt sorry didn't experiment with it as a webcam.
@@bobflyman I bought one for my twitch setup, it's perfect, its clean, thanks anyways :)
Was thinking about this for my 10 year old daughter. We are going to Santorini on holiday soon and she has been begging us for some kind of action camera. I think this will be a good purchase for that kind of thing. Your review has been helpful and you’ve gained a subscriber buddy! Thank you 😊
You're welcome mate, have a good holiday!

great video Bob I have just ordered one from Amazon thanks a lot for a great review
i didn't even know i could connect the camera to my phone - super helpful video! thanks!!
I haven't tried it but saw on another video say you can with an app and OTG lead?
Nice review of the product. Thanks for making it Bob
yeah thanks Bob helped me make an informed decision. Bought it it's on it's way.
Great video, it did help me to set up mine.
Thank you, excellent tutorial. Have just purchased one and grateful for all the information which is sometimes hard to find included. Ride safe my friend.
Thanks buddy, you too!
the best tutorial for this camera, i love you calm nature and detailed presentation about everything. Thank you Sir
Thks buddy, glad you found it useful. Have fun!
Great video kind sir!
You're welcome buddy!
Awesome tutorial Mr. Bob Moore! Thank you. Now I can travel to the Philippines with my family and put this AKASO camera to good use.
have fun!
Haven't tried kite surfing though it looks great. Water is a lot colder here than in Florida. Have fun.
Thank you!!! Watched all others and couldn't figure out how to format my go pro. Your video helped a lot.
You're welcome mate, format is very useful for clearing everything off a card!
Excellent presentation. I really enjoyed it all and in particular the attention to detail, explanation of the various functions and so clearly spoken and described. Thanks.
I just got one today and thank you for posting this great informational video! Glad I subbed your channel!
really good review bro! I'll definitely buy this camera right now!
Very helpful & informative as I wasn't sure about the mounts. Thanks.
One of the neat things about this camera is that you can 180-degree the image (via settings), so you can mount upside-down -- say, under a bike saddle -- and still record the right way up!
Or if you want to use as a dashcam!
This is a great video and very explanatory. Also great how you edit during the accessories quickly no unneeded long segments..to the point!
thanks mate!
This is a great video and has helped me alot as recieved this camera at christmas for mountain biking.... thank you
Hey, that's great. Enjoy!
you can long press the shutter button so you don't have to press and press to go to settings or other modes
Sorry, don't understand your point?
Thank for this review, I bought one of these off Amazon on a whim, and I have been worried I made a mistake. Gets here tomorrow and now I am Jazzed, Excited to get my hands on it.
Nice one mate! Have fun. I trust you've ordered a microcard? Decent class 10 U3 or something as well?
@@bobflyman Yes pkg deal w/64GB Micro, trust its correct as pkg deal. Thx again

Very helpful video, helped me get my new Akaso set up and ready to go... was enjoying the video and the suddenly saw my home turf! (Brixham myself) - cool to see quality of video around harbour etc, knowing how it looks in real life! Thanks :)
Great place to live! I've been here 31 years now. Rubbish getting in and out of town in the summer though, but small price to pay I guess!
extremely helpful. got me up to speed in no time (well 22 1/2 minutes actually)
Good news! You're most welcome. ;)
The quality isn't that bad for considering the price point and the accessories it comes with. I am trying to find something to take with me to a convention to just do a vlog with as I don't want to carry my large DSLR. This may do :)
for those wondering, like I was.. after many hours of searching.. the AKASO EK7000 is actually just a re-branded version of EKEN H9! They are literally the exact same camera.. take a peak at 13:02 and you will see for yourself! Hope this helps :)
Jere Wall your right there definitely the H9
Thank you so much for this video! This is my first camera of this kind and I was feeling VERY overwhelmed with all the stuff it came with -- so helpful to know what I need for my beginner use and what I can tuck away for future endeavors :)
My pleasure!
Your review was awesome. Thanks for the time you spent on it.
thank you!! i’m going to nassau bahamas on the 17th of this month and this video helped set this up in time
Great. Can I come with you pleeeease? 😍

Thank you very much for your comment Bob - I really appreciate you getting back to me and for the video you posted without which I would be totally lost on how to use the camera!
Thank you so much for showing all of the mounts that come with this pack.
You're welcome mate
thanks - this was so helpful for working out how to use the camera before our ski trip.
Thanks a million Bob....quick and easy to the point. Helped me out tremendously.
no worries mate, glad it was useful
Amazing professional review. Just purchased one for use on the crash helmet now time to figure out how to attach it.
@@bobflyman sweet thanks for the tip. Ill be filming at the isle of man this year anyway ride safe :)
Nice one. I've never been but see some good video from there. Guy Martin. And read his books. Nutter! But good bloke. Yea, ride safe! @@nickgandy3
