Trader Joe's all the way! I also genuinely enjoy shopping there since they really take the time to create fun items and their workers are always friendly!
I will say I have done the juggling between the two and yes Trader Joe’s is so much cheaper BUT there IS a reason! For a lot of products Whole Foods quality is just so much better. I have eaten Trader Joe’s meat for a while and Whole Foods just does taste better. The variety for Whole Foods meat is better. And unfortunately a lot of the produce and bagged veggies at Trader Joe’s goes bad very quickly often times - I ended up wasting money because I mostly eat meat, fruit and veggies and the fruit and veggies I would buy at Trader Joe’s would go bad so quickly so yes it’s cheaper but for me when I am throwing food out because it’s molding that doesn’t always make it worth it. Especially kale and other bagged lettuce - you gotta talk about the date things go bad! If you have to go to TJs 2x per week to have produce that doesn’t go bad the price comparison (for the things I would buy) isn’t that different (at least for the things I’m buying).
I love both, but there’s a reason they call it Whole Paycheck…however, * You can get an Amazon Prime discount at Whole Foods, which narrows the price gap a little. * Whole Foods is a bigger store and offers a much bigger variety, great bakery, deli, hot foods, etc. *Whole Foods has a fabulous bulk foods section. TJ’s, none. Conclusion: Just like Dave says about restaurants, if you’re in Baby Step 2, don’t go to Whole Foods unless you’re working there. 😄
Same I shop at Whole Foods for the produce. Their produce is actually cheaper than Publix, and more sustainable than the organic produce at Walmart, and all of the other competitive grocery stores.. BUT I have a job interview at Trader Joe’s this week . I’ve heard they have good benefits, which I need right now.
Whole Foods all the way! Whole Foods has more fresh ingredients than Trader Joe’s. TJs is 80 percent processed. I also love that Whole Foods has the Amazon prime discount.
I am pregnant and my doctor keeps telling me to shop at Whole Foods and I want to tell him look “i don’t have a doctors salary I can’t afford Whole Foods!” Lol. I am not the only one eating at my house.
I think it should have been Sprouts vs Whole Foods they are more similar in price I would think and products. I don’t know why anyone would think Whole Foods would be less than Trader Joe’s.
TJs of course is cheaper! Whole Foods has been bought out by Amazon though, so if you are an Amazon Prime member you can get some very good discounts!!! Just saying.
Whole foods is by far the better option. When you use your prime credit card the prices really drop. Plus I get it delivered which is actually cheaper for me than the gas and time it would take to go to trader Joe's.
My best friend works at Trader Joe's, and talks about their value ALL the time. Like she said, they are not the hands down, cheapest ever, BUT the quality you get for the money is excellent -- hard to beat! 🥳🔥
I only shop @ Whole Foods for when I want to partake in their hot food & salad bar for lunch. For Trader Joe’s I only get some key items such as their Greek Yogurt, dried fruit, & some of their chocolates (TD PB cups especially). Everything else on my grocery list I get elsewhere.
Publix is just as good as both but I feel like Publix is way cheaper than Whole Foods. I think everyone would like to shop at Whole Foods everyday and for everything but it's just too expensive. Why do you think the buggie carts are so small at Whole Foods lol
Exactly! I feel that Whole Foods is not really an option for the average middle class families. If it was just me eating alone I could probably swing it but if you have multiple mouths to feed a 30% increase in your grocery budget is just not feasible.
Trader Joe’s bagged baby spinach, brocolli slaw, romaine, I don’t get the meat at Trader Joe’s except uncured pepperoni, then I buy some frozen foods, occasionally some snack foods, or seasoning sauces. I never do all my shopping at one store.
Whole Foods isn't much better on most items. I stated above the their meat selection is excellent though. I only buy whatever meat is on sale that day.
neither one in my town. No Aldi either. It's Walmart, Publix, Winn Dixie or Grocery outlet. The local one (grocery outlet) is by far the less expensive. But not healthy at all, unless you only stay in the produce section. If you want any of the others you have to drive at least 25 miles and deal with a lot of crazy traffic.
Our trader joes is in bellingham washington. So we get a lot of Canadians who make trader joes a religion. So for me to go for my first time was not the best experience. But it's funny that I stumbled across this video. I actually shopped at whole foods and then trader joes to see the price difference
Not to mention trader Joe's produce is more original meaning you won't go to another store and find the exact same products from companies. Whole foods is more commercial but they're quality is still good. I'm always down for what's gonna save me money though.
Both are too far from my house to make it worth the trip. However, I prefer Whole Foods cut flowers, which last longer than any grocery store flowers, the bakery, and the hot bar. Trader Joe's is okay but doesn't have the selection Whole Foods has.

Bulk foods......there's WinCo, Kroger/Fred Meyer, and Sprouts as well.
I shop at Whole Foods for vegetables and fruits only. The quality is unmatched.
Same I shop at Whole Foods for the produce. Their produce is actually cheaper than Publix, and more sustainable than the organic produce at Walmart, and all of the other competitive grocery stores.. The only thing I have ever gotten at Whole Foods is baby food, when you buy 12 they give you % off, which turns out to be cheaper than even Amazon
I started growing veggies and planted my fruit trees. We are starting to be more self sufficient we also bought chickens 🐓 for eggs.
I think it should have been Sprouts vs Whole Foods they are more similar in price I would think and products. I don’t know why anyone would think Whole Foods would be less than Trader Joe’s.
Exactly
I agree, or even Fresh Market vs Whole Foods
this was great!!! thanks I'd love to see a Sprouts vs Trader Joes video
Yes please 🙏🏼
TJs of course is cheaper! Whole Foods has been bought out by Amazon though, so if you are an Amazon Prime member you can get some very good discounts!!! Just saying.
This is awesome! My go to grocery stores, very clean foods at both.
Wow me with stores that are comparable-
Trader Joe’s vs. Aldi
Whole Foods vs. sprouts
These stores are truly comparable to each other. 🙂
Agree
Whole foods is by far the better option. When you use your prime credit card the prices really drop. Plus I get it delivered which is actually cheaper for me than the gas and time it would take to go to trader Joe's.
My best friend works at Trader Joe's, and talks about their value ALL the time. Like she said, they are not the hands down, cheapest ever, BUT the quality you get for the money is excellent -- hard to beat! 🥳🔥
Let's compare more like Sprouts, chain grocers, etc. Also please compare organic produce.
Whole Foods is nice, but there's a reason people call it Whole Paycheck. I'll take Trader Joe's any day!
Half the time I’m not interested in the topic of the video but I still watch because I ❤️ Rachel…………
My only thing about this video is they don't take in account whether it's organic or not.
Pass. Shop at aldi and save more money.
Trader Joe's vs Sprouts pleeez? 😁

Trader Joe’s by far. Whole Foods, I’ll be paying $30 bucks for literally 3 items.
I just got Charged $16 for a bag of grapes $10 for a few avocados and nine dollars for two big red onions at Whole Foods.
Yeah I shop at Winco or Walmart now.
And what about quality?
Whole Foods isn't much better on most items. I stated above the their meat selection is excellent though. I only buy whatever meat is on sale that day.

Will you do a New Walmart vs Aldi food video? New to your channel, love it.
Could you do a comparison with Sprouts?
Our trader joes is in bellingham washington. So we get a lot of Canadians who make trader joes a religion. So for me to go for my first time was not the best experience. But it's funny that I stumbled across this video. I actually shopped at whole foods and then trader joes to see the price difference
The correct answer is ALDI
Not good quality
Not to mention trader Joe's produce is more original meaning you won't go to another store and find the exact same products from companies. Whole foods is more commercial but they're quality is still good. I'm always down for what's gonna save me money though.
Thanks for sharing I’ve actually been wondering about this
Looks like Whole Foods earns the name "Whole Paycheck". Thank you Trader Joe's for keeping prices low.
Aldi is.
Half way through, nuff. Glad we don't have either store in r town. No TJ n da state. Whole Foods > 100 miles away
Which one is healthier?
Whole Foods has a poor internal employee work culture. So Trader Joe’s wins in my book every time.
Trader Joe’s stuff all looked better too. The packaging was on point
Wholefoods is the most expensive market in America. Stay away from it.
Whole THE food!
What everyone expect from Whole Paycheck? Of course it is way more expensive plus it smells. 😅😅😅😅
Rachel
Your traders joes are very inexpensive here in Cali those prices are not that anymore :(
Trader Joe's hands down! I love trader Joe's pizza dough.
“Liquid at the top”…. 🤣🤣🤣 it’s natural oils from the peanuts. So funny.
Uhhh, hands down TJ’s is less expensive than Whole Foods.
Is whole Food Organic products vs Trade Joe NO organic products, maybe that’s why is more money in whole food????? 🛑🛑🛑
No. Whole Foods Carrrys non organic also.
Love TJ!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I don't have either store by me but why would anyone shop at Whole Foods???? 😳
Why people shop at Whole Foods? They want less food, that tastes worse and pay more. 😂😂
@@stevenporter863 I guess so!! 😂
Because…ORGANIC
@@beejensen So that's why the store smells like a dirty public bathroom.
@@beejensen she compared- both were organic…
Will you ever make Everydollar available outside USA?
I was surprised to see this was even a video. I thought it was common knowledge that Whole Foods is overpriced.
Of course Trader Joe's. It's owned by Aldi!
Both are too far from my house to make it worth the trip. However, I prefer Whole Foods cut flowers, which last longer than any grocery store flowers, the bakery, and the hot bar. Trader Joe's is okay but doesn't have the selection Whole Foods has.
Dollar Tree
I will give neither my $$
I shop at aldi lol
Whole foods is trippin
