That's the bassmen's duty and the fine thing for us: we have to play an exact, clean and cool line along with the drums without flurry that nobody listens to. But everybody misses us when we are not there!
Bernard Edwards is the person who made me want to play bass and I grew up with Graham and Collins but Bernard style drew me in because it's funky and smooth at the same time.thanks you nailed it

Great cover! My favorite song of theirs. Saw them, Chic, back in 1980 and they were Amazing. The whole damn band was incredible. Rip Bernard, Tony Thompson.

@@kayvancooten4657 I have been listening to some isolated bass tracks from James Jamerson's studio recordings to try to see why some call him the greatest. He was clearly a top notch player and a great innovator who inspired many others but for me (and its a matter of personal taste) Bernard Edwards' genius compositions and musicality make him my number one.
This bass line is singing a song all it's own...And you nailed it! Great job!
That's a great way to describe it. In a lot of Chic songs the bassline is a second melody accompanying the vocals.
Will listen to this over and over again. This sound is magic. Bernard Edward was and indeed is a creator

Hands down young chess piece you not only have it down, you made it look sleek and professional, an academic for a beginning electric broom sweeper,, meaning a four stringer starting out could pick it apart, study then learn it. If you ever noticed bernard Edwards was additionally a sleek sharp well dressed often quiet, shy businessman, never tried to be a front man or take charge just held his place, that's why he was so classy, maybe you are.
Now I am confused between you and Edwards .You are great brother.
Bernard Edwards is one of my favorite bass player, more and likely it's the clarity of the basslines that I liked it is very clear.

That's a very good rendition you deed. Bernard Edwards was no doubt in the top 3 all time great bassist. He created so many outstanding bass grooves that's been copied or sampled all over the place. What a iconic bassist. RIP Bernard you left this world a great legacy of music for generations to enjoy and groove to .
