DownieLive is a canadian behind-the-scenes adventure channel, hosted by me, Michael Downie. Thanks for watching (and reading all the way to the bottom). As always, I don't know where I'm going next, but I know I want you there with me.
See you in the next one.

What is your favourite part of Granville Island? Have you been before?
I have never been but it sounds and looks really amazing
Yeah boi! My family loved their maple syrup from the market!
The market for sure, that's were I get my fresh oysters. And cheese. And pepperoni. And...
My favorite was definitely the market! The vibe you got with all the different food and people from different cultures was really cool!! Also we got a lot of fresh fruits and veggies for our hotel to snack on!
DownieLive Lee’s donuts hands down
Thanks for making this! I used to live in Vancouver and I’m back there this weekend for a twenty year reunion so it was good to remind myself of the layout. Will pop in for lunch on Saturday!
Nice. Welcome back!
I miss Vancouver that view on the deck area around the 3 minute mark looks so peaceful and calming
What a great presentation. Nicely hosted, edited and shot. Very well done! I live in Vancouver myself and have worked on Granville Island. I used to work for Aquabus 🙂 🛥
Oh awesome! I love those things!
Really appreciated this video. We've visiting Vancouver for the first time in May and are staying near Granville Island and wanted to learn more about it. This was super helpful. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
Enjoy your stay!
Love the Buskers, especially Joshua Minsky, love the fruit markets and flower 🌺 market . 👏
Nice to meet you tonight, as brief as it was. Enjoyed this video. Well done
Thanks Gus! It was a pleasure meeting you too! All the best in your adventures.
I've been a thousand times to YVC but never to that island. Be sure the next time over I will pay them a visit. Another great video!!!

I am planning to go see this Granville Island with my family. I recently started my channel and hoping to come up with a nice video as this. Thanks for posting!
❤️ Granville Island … especially the food market! Diggin your new cut on you Mike. Very becoming 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is an older video. I haven't cut my hair yet!
@@DownieLive … welll uuuum time for a summer cut 😂😂😂
Awesome footage - we've added a link to your tour in our app. Keep up the great work!
Wish I'd seen this before I went to Vancouver. I only saw a few things on Granville Island. Definitely saw the market. NICE video !!!
this spot is the woulds best love it
I watch your channel since the pandemic and I loved the way you presented Vancouver. I think you should make a cameo in one of those (international) shows filmed in BC (as an adventurer ? or a gastronomic reporter ?). I mean, you know how to communicate, you have talent, you are not scared of a camera. And you played as a James Bond !
Great video! Granville Island is normally my 1st stop when I’m in Van City. I’ve subscribed to your channel now! 👍🏽
Mark!!! Yes!!
Thanks man!
Cool dude! And you're a vrey good broadcaster; what a vibe! A hug from Brasil
Wonderful😊 Thank you 🙏
Awesome video, I love vancouver and you do a good job.
I'm gonna watch a couple more of your videos then decide if I'll sub...
Tourist trap extraordinaire.
Hope u go big on RUclips!
Cheers buddy!
Great video! I love Vancouver!
1. The balls in the display at 2:00 look like the ones used in the Gastown steam clock, which I love.
2. Once I saw the play "The Number 14" at Granville Island Theater. It's a stage play about social interaction on a #14 Hastings bus. For props they used seats from a 1960s GM New Look bus, with green and blue upholstery. Those are still BC Hydro's colors, the green representing BC's forests and the blue its waters. The letter H of course stands for Hydro.
3. IDKWYGNBIKIBTWY.
I love your videos! 💓👍
Thank you so much!
I've always loved every aspect of GI. Used to have lots of fun "liquid lunches" with a cheese platter on the side, at Bridges in the '80s, lol. More recently, I often will indulge in a piece of Blueberry pie from à La Mode - not sure about the rest of their menu, but the Blueberry pie's not bad (must be served "à la mode" though).
Super well presented with a vlog like feel! Dig it! Subbed.
Thanks James!
Fresh PASSTAAAA !!
Grv lourd la vidéo mon gaté
Kids entrance 😅😅😂😅😂😂
C'est dur!!!!
wow
Is the hammock store called "The Hang Out Place"? I met this old couple, Malcolm and Barbara, at a Dead & Company concert being held at the Gorge Campground in Quincy Washington back in 2018. They gave me there card, and when you mentioned the store I went an dug it out to check the address and sure enough, 1652 Duranleau St. They've been there since 1989!
Thanks for the memories!
Yep! That's them! Wow, small world!
@@DownieLive Nostalgic! I used to have an office way back in 1993-94 at 1650 Duranleau St. The entrance can be in your nice video.
The bratwurst stall at the market is the best
Omg I Love Grandville Island! Did You Try The Boat Ride?
I did!
Did you not watch the video?
Great video, but why so short?!? There's a ton of stuff on GI. Do another video, go look at the toys in the toy shops, meats in the meats shops, the bakeries, the hand made merch, all these have things you can't buy or don't see much anywhere else. And then chats with the owners about what unique stuff they sell.
Actually I think you should do that!
That’s why the video was so short, to show you what’s there so you want to go back and explore it on your own. 😉👍🏼
Hello,
my english teacher gave us listening comprehension on your video as an exercise, so would you have the texts used in your video for me to finish my exercise please ?
(Je suis bon en anglais t'inquiète mais sah j'ai la flemme)
Cordialement
Salut bg,
Tu peux me donner les réponses que tu as donné stp ( je suppose qu’on n’a le même exercice)
Cordialement
The technical name is 'float home'. These are literally homes that float. But, if you would like to move one you would need a tugboat to do so.
Houseboats are also a thing, but these are self-propelled boats that are fitted out like houses (bathrooms, kitchens, etc.).
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.
@@DownieLive No problem. I knew someone who lived on one at one time (different location). That person gave us a tour and told us this type of detail. :D
