Oof, that whiplash from gay tragedy to creepy uncle... Definitely an interesting life! As for the two-parter, I personally don't mind either way, I'm just happy to watch videos about music history ^^ Looking forwards to more videos from you!
Thank you for this video. Tchaikovsky has always fascinated me. Not that I knew much about him, I did not. I knew his music, however I had literally no knowledge of him except that he was a Russian. It wasn't until a film was made many years ago now that depicted a little of his life, that I realised he was not only a great musician, but he was also gay. The film was called "The Music Lovers". You have shown some of the scenes in that film in part1 of your videos. From your videos it sounds like he was probably a very troubled man. Your videos on this very talented composer were most informative actually, and I certainly loved all the old photographs of his area and of his family and friends. Nicely done, many thanks.
Joe that was so much fun and informative too. You’re gas (funny in Irish slang) and so damn cute too! Keep them coming. (Must search if you have any videos on queer Irish men and women) we have a lot of them!
@@zer-mela oh sorry no, i meant the music at the very beginning of the video, i know thats from a suite called 'the seasons' aka 'die jarezieten' (forgive my spelling) but i cant remember which piece (season) it is. If it happens to be june then, by accident or not, thats pretty cool
Tchaikovsky didn't marry just to stop the rumors about his sexuality. That was just a theory. Tchaikovsky misses his nephew, but not in a sexual way. Just because he misses his nephew does not mean he loves his nephew
Tchaikovsky did marry to stop the rumors about his homosexuality, he said him itself in his correspondance... But it was very sucessless. What's your problem with that ? 😘
"Historians today widely believe that he was gay" "He likely was bisexual" "He likely was homosexual" "Many presumed his marriage at the age of 40 was undertaken to bolster his public image" "His marriage was designed to stop people gossiping about his love life" "He is thought to have been homosexual because of the company he kept" Yeah, very convincing!
In this one - you're reading in so much into the Zach thing. He has a close male relationship, and dedicates music to him , wants to help out his friend and see him, and you say he's gay? Thats not proof, that's just you reading your sexual attitudes into his life. Then his close friend dies, trues to comfort his mother, and feels grief and remembers his friends grace and awesome smile, and truly loves his friend. And you read sexuality into it. So base and low. Then he feels a responsibility to get married, to carry his family name , despite his timid, and self professed neuroticism. He was effeminate in his own estimation as a result, and saw a lack in himself as a husband, which is why his marriage failed. Read his letters again. That's part of the nature he refers to, as well as more than one hint at a gambling problem. That's where his relationship with Nadezhda von Meck comes in, she gave him money because he was broke and in debt. He viewed his nature, his gambling addiction and neuroticism, as flaws that made him unable to be a head of a household. He did not want to pass on the instability of his childhood. He makes this clear in his writings. Davidoff - he loves his nephew, and no evidence of sex, again, just reading in your attitudes. I keep contact with my nephew on the opposite coast of the US, I miss him dearly. Does that make me gay? You are perverting everything about this. None of Tchaikovsky's gayness is documented. Its all speculation. Quit perpetuating it as fact - speculate if you must, but presenting it as fact is total unacademic nonsense.
Hello, you're wrong, Tchaikovsky's homosexuality is fully documented by all "academical biographies". Tchaikovsky's correspondance and diaries as well as Modest's autobiography, among other things, are completely clear about that fact. Your post is completely uninformed, that's a pity. 😉
There's no need to "speculate" : Tchaikovsky's own uncensored writings are unambiguous about his love life. And frankly, even the biographer Nina Berberova, who met some of T's relatives in the 1930's, dealt with that subject in his work. So just shut up 😃😃😃
One of my uncle is a pianist, and he never married, and always lived alone. He must be gay! I can't imagine anything else, that must be it. That's it! Let's celebrate him!

I loved your 2 videos. Your sense of humor adds quality to your exquisite language. Gracias
That's right
So he had a creepy uncle villain arc...
Please keep uploading for us here.
My Favorit Ballet of Tshaikowski is Romeo and Juliet and swan lake
Interesting documentary but I cannot understand the inclusion of other composers' music (e.g Satie) in the soundtrack
love your videos! the scandal that Debussy went through when he got with Emma Bardac could be an interesting little subject....
Glad to see new content!
I’ve just watched these 2 parts (which i think is way batter than one long video, yes) and loved it
11:49 I would actually love to learn more! This was great!
I just found your channel! What a great job on Tchaikovsky‘s gay life! Keep up the good work
Could you also make a video about Chopin and his sexuality? some say he had some sexy times with male friends back in Warsaw.
Chopin was a straight hetero womanizer.
Most historical gay figures is just us reading our modern attitudes into old stories.
Good idea
@@0hn0haha Maybe he was bisexual
@@0hn0haha The totality of historical gay figures are gay by definition. Your post is just nonsense 😘
I did no chycoski was a homosexual. Interesting..
Please make them into one video no matter how long 😀
(the wait is).
Thanks for making me laugh !
Very interesting. Very good channel.

Love this video!
Please name of the composition at the beginning?🥰🙏
It's an arrangement of Tchaikovsky's The Seasons - November (op. 37) that I put together quickly for this video :)
@@zer-mela Its great, thanks!!😉😊🥰😇
Will you do a video about Poulenc and his life? I really want to know more about his struggle between his religion and his sexuality.
Poulenc's gay life's a really Well documented too
I love the video, but why Beethoven Music??
Is that tchaikowsky seasons June at the beginning? Or july I can't remember.
If you mean Pride season, that's the month of June. This two parter was meant to come out then but I missed the deadline haha.

but he's lying to himself if he's gay and marries a woman? How could that go well? if he never has true feelings for women?
Absolutely he lied to himself in a first time but finally accepted his true nature.
Good content,.....horrible attitude/onscreen persona. Just butch it up. And why the contemporary imagery? That is not cool. But keep at it.
Hell will freeze over before I turn butch 💅💅
The contemporary imagery adds to the fun!

Tchaikovsky's homosexuality is entirely, scholarly and archivisticaly proven. Next now 😁
