Your an overload of information and I love it. You videos are always understandable. Let me ask yo, can I put ECO preservative in body butters and scrubs?
I've pretty much watched all your videos. Your change is amazing. I did make this deep conditioner but added oatmeal, Vitamin b5, hydrolyzed Silk protein, honey powder and banana powder and btms 25. It turned out amazing
@@bundlesbeans2747 When you buy the powder the website should tell you or can google the powder & its usage rate. Then the rest is experimental. You may want more or less of it within the confines of the usage rate percentage.
Amazing tutorial! Your formulation is spot on but just as a tip, Hydrolyzed proteins of any kind are heat sensitive and need to be added in the cool down phase. Other than that, amazing job and I cannot wait to see more formulations ✨
Hey, thanks for this video, i finanly made this deep conditioner, and it was great for our hair! my daughters and i are grateful, because now i can control what goes into our dc, your blog is very detailed, and the added benefit of giving us different options of ingredients, that was super. thanks alot
I love love your facial structure 🤩 I’m literally obsessed with your channel, can’t wait till I’m done with my store bought products at home before I start whipping up mine ☺️
Hiya! Love this recipe and can't wait to make it! Just wondering if we can use BTMS50 as the emulsifying wax, and if we can skip the protein altogether? Will any of the proportions have to be changed?
Hello Elise, I enjoy your videos so much I find myself looking forward to getting your notification on my phone on late Saturdays, early Sundays. Your videos are very detailed and informative. Thanks for sharing.
I made this deep conditioner last night. The blending was so satisfying just smelling the coconut milk powder and watching it just come to a creamy fluff. I made a large batch and ran out of coconut milk powder by a very small amount. I added bamboo powder. I want to thank you for this recipe it is going to be so beautifully conditioning. I’m going to test it on my hair today 🤞🏽
Woah your are such a QUEEN. I can't stop watching your videos ! I'm obsessed with them. There is so much i formation and give so much details in a clear and simple way. Thanks again !! Send u love from London !
Wow,all your videos are great Elise,I most confess you gave me the spirit to start making my own product,I have you to thank for that, but pls can I use coco butter in place of Shea butter?
Wow I'm so glad to hear that Abigail! Absolutely, particularly when it's only small quantities - you can easily substitute butters for your favourite 😊
Anyone get the same consistency as the video or have the same success? Cause out of the hair mask, and the hair cream only this conditioner has gave me hell 😩 (loved the cream disappointed that the cream molded after only two weeks) the mask has been perfect tho. Now when I discovered this page I binged watch all the hair videos then spent almost $400 on supplies and ingredients. Now this deep conditioner was the first thing I made. The texture REFUSED to work. Both times it was the exact same, and the second time I even bought a new scale thinking maybe my old one wasn’t calibrated and the measurements were off. But I got exact same consistency the second time around. It’s crumbly and it separates. The more I try and mix it the more it separates. I used the exact tools and no substituted ingredients. I use the conditioner anyway the best I could given the consistency, but when I use it, it just sits on my hair. It won’t wash out. Maybe I’m using too much (bc texture isn’t right). But after two or 3 washes I eventually have to wash out with shampoo which defeats the purpose. I might have to use store bought deep conditioner cause this one just won’t work for me. If you read this far let me know if you had any success , maybe the third time will be the charm for me.
I love this tutorial Elise, and I can’t wait to try it thank you so much for making these tutorials. I would also like to request that in addition to a shopping guide that you have on your website, could you please add US sources.
I made it today and it came so beautiful BUT when applied to hair it felt rough and not soft at all, it was very hard to detangle and my hair was sooo greasy when it was dry. Im gonna lower the % of the butter and add a conditioning ingredient. Thank you for sharing
Love your videos! I've been looking into making a protein conditioner and was thinking of using quinoa protein. Would I be able to swap out the protein without affecting the formula?
My hair really loves honey and I’d like to incorporate it more in my hair care products. Any suggestions on how I could modify your formulas to lessen the coconut oil and add honey?
Hi Nicole, you can easily substitute glycerine for honey - please see the section here on humectants for more info: wholeelise.com/blog/strengthening-deep-conditioner/ The coconut milk powder is also optional 😊
I made a fue of your recepies and they are so amazing 😍. I woned to ask with what can i substitute the Hydrolysed Wheat Protein? I do have colodial oatmeal and was wondering if it will be posible. And if you have other ideas i woud be really grateful. ❤❤❤
Hi Elise, how can I use natural powder herbs in my deep conditioner recipes and I like your youtube video a lot keep it up good work 👍👏💛how do I prevent it from being spoiled to boost the preservative
Thank you hun! Cetearyl alcohol like cetyl are more co-emulsifiers so you'll need to use it in conjunction with another emulsifier but it's fine to substitute cetearyl for cetyl if that's what you have 😊
Thank you so much , your channel is fantastic and you have such an inviting presence. I’m just in love with the products I have created from your channel. Just wondering if you could use bentonite clay to this mask as well adding it to your homemade shampoos? Also would you advise making this in bulk? Thirdly I’m in aure of the amount of knowledge you know and your ability to pass this knowledge on to your views in such a clear and precise way. I absolutely love natural products and ingredients and the satisfaction of making my own products. I am always keen to expand my knowledge in this field and it has been happening slowly but I do find it can be overwhelming sometimes and also unless I write things down I can’t retain all the info, which I find very frustrating. I was wondering if you had done a course? Or some type of study in the field or is it all self taught? Would you have any resources you would recommend?
The one huge question no one asked...how long did you blend this conditioner? I feel like it's taking forever. Maybe I should fridge it to chill it faster? Then blend it?
Hi Elsie, i just found your youtube and im totally in love!!! Count with a new active subscriber!! But I have a question, Can we do a mix of both masks you made in both series? Would it be stable enough to add the amount of oils with the water stuff? Thanks, sending love!
Hi! Elise.Thank you so much for such detailed and informative video.i want to make this amazing conditioner but hydrolyzed wheat protein or any other hydrolyzed protein is not available in my country.international brands don't deliver here.kindly suggest a suitable substitute for it as i want to make it as it is to enjoy whole benefits of this amazing conditioner.
Elise, I am absolutely in love with your formulas, more so now they are getting more advanced. Quick question, the coconut milk powder; is that cosmetics grade or can you use one that you can by off the shelf? Kind regards Ameena
Thank you! I purchased mine from cosmetic ingredients suppliers but it wasn't specifically labelled "cosmetic grade" so I can't say for certain if there's any difference. But I would recommend you'd go for cosmetic if you have that available 😊
Would you recommend using deep conditioner on a very young child? My daughter will be 1yr old on the 24th of this month (january) and has 4C high porosity type hair like myself. My hair is in locs though, so I haven't had the luxury of learning about my hair type and texture 😅. I try to keep everything I use on her or feed her, natural. And I've been conflicted with conditioning because of her age. But her hair seems to stay dry despite using oils to moisturize. I've even tried using Shea butter to condition the hair strands but it's as if nothing I've done thus far, help 🥹. Any ideas?
Hello elise! I followed your instructions completely.. but some how in my 2 containers of conditioner evolved mold.. how is this possible? I do leave it in the shower but with the lit on. And I used enough preservative
Can you make a video on a clay hair wash that has the consistency or a similar consistency to this deep conditioner? I love clay washes, but I hate the mess that is generated from the runny consistency.
I'd actually wouldn't recommend it as canned coconut milk tends to have other ingredients like stabilisers and preservatives already added, in addition to some solid matter which might affect the final formula. Using coconut water is probably an easier substitution 😊
And you'll keep buying it, spending more money during the year, whereas you can buy the ingredients and make more batches than you can buy during the year. On top of that, you control the products that go into your product, that you need for your hair. Think about it.
Hey Elise, can this be made to use as a leave in conditioner? I’m really struggling to find a formula (leave in conditioner) with Hydrolysed Wheat Protein. Hope to hear back from You soon
yes you can, its in her blog, but this was to replace the coconut milk powder, i have no idea if it can replace the hydrolysed wheat, i replaced mine with silk amino acids.

I always add hydrolyzed proteins to the water phase per my manufacturer, 'making cosmetics'.
OMG this was amazing. I took notes the whole time. Quality content keep it up girl loved it 😄
Thank you so much Faith!!
I just made this. It's cooling and my husband is begging to try it first 🤣

Are you a chemist?
what volume/weight did u get in total? thanks a lot great tutorial
Hi dear this conditoner used on root scalp or only hair pls reply, when to use after bath or before bath pls explain
