Evans is absolutely on fire with these robotic retro 80's DOS promos. wow!
I remember one time I was playing drums and I was suddenly able to play a very fast and complex song I was listening to. All the times prior to playing it I was forcing each note from memory, but this time I was relaxed and I truly felt the music passing through me. In an effortless way (like I wasn't even present in my own body) I was able to play these swing parts perfectly, and seeing Eloy now I realize it's the only way to play those parts at all. In those few minutes I was able to play like that, it was a euphoric experience to tell the truth and once it was over I actually had to take a minute to process what happened. That only ever happened ONCE to me and I've never been able to replicate that feeling or performance since then. It was like my mind had placed the last of 10,000 puzzle pieces and it unlocked something inside me that I can't explain. Thinking about again I can't even comprehend what my own body did, the actions and thoughts I had at the time don't make sense to me. Anyway this just reminded me of that. Maybe someday I'll learn to channel that energy like Eloy!

My cousin turned me onto Eloy almost a couple years ago now and I just marvel and thoroughly enjoy watching & feeling what he puts out, lays down, pounds, thumps, grinds, grooves, runs thuddingly (haha!, just made that word up).. he’s may new favorite.
I dig Joe Nunez as well. Check out Soulfly in Warsaw in ‘05. Porrada! ;)

What a show, it was amazing, I had the honor of taking an immersion drum course with Eloy, and it was really amazing, how he knows how to teach in a simple way the most complex things that probably alone I would never be able to learn or would take too much. time. Que show, foi incrível, eu tive a honra de fazer um curso de imersão de bateria com o Eloy, e foi muito incrível, como ele sabe ensinar de forma simples as coisas mais complexas que, provavelmente sozinho eu nunca conseguiria aprender ou iria levar muito tempo. Foi como eu falei pra ele, adimiro muito ele como músico, como baterista, como professor, muito obrigado.
Essa mistura perfeitas de ritmos latinos com outros estilos musicais é o que almejo atingir um dia, isso é incrível demais!
