Good tutorial. However... 2:42 The oil filter retains quite a bit of oil before it is opened. If you've already reinstated the sump plug, the old oil from the filter housing will simply end up back in the sump, or it may even spill out over the engine if removed too quickly. It's not a massive amount of oil (maybe 200ml or so), but that's around 5% of the total oil this engine holds. Instead, replace the sump plug AFTER you have opened the oil filter housing, which will allow virtually all of the old oil to drain out of the sump. Try it yourself and watch how much extra old oil comes out of the sump plug hole when you open the filter housing. You don't even need to pull the filter out completely. Just crack open the filter housing and let air push the old oil down through the engine and out the sump plug hole. For clarification, I'd say the correct sequence would be... 1. Remove oil filler cap and dipstick (helps oil flow out faster) 2. Remove sump plug and drain oil 3. Open filter housing (leave to drain for a further minute) 4. Replace filter element and o-ring 5. Replace sump plug and dipstick 6. Add oil to correct level and replace filler cap 7. Run engine for a minute or two, then recheck oil level. Top-up if necessary now that the filter and housing has been primed.
I know Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Austin Payton thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Fantastic Video - Clear, Concise & Easy to Follow. Thank you good sir! If you were thinking of creating any more Corsa D maintenance/DIY videos they'd be greatly appreciated.
Great video and I have found it very helpful but just for a bit of constructive criticism - if you could get rid of the annoying interlude music it would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't help and you have to continually adjust volume due to the volume difference between your narrative and the music.
Best to keep the container that was used to catch the old oil from the sump in place whilst you take out the oil filter or you could end up with a pool of dirty oil on the garage floor.
Not too much of an issue with this style of filter but yeah on one like the S2000 where the filter is horizontal it can definitely be messy if you dont keep the oil tray below!
Hy.i jst done changed the cylinder head, waterpump on my corsa d Z14XEP.so the prblm is its over head.the fan is running continuous ,i even opened the thermostat.bt still it overheat...
Sorry mate no spark plug video but its not too difficult to do. I have to change the springs and shocks on the corsa now as a spring snapped yesterday. Vauxhall must make these cars out of chocolate
I've replaced the oil and filter on my vauxhall corsa 1.4 mtk3 but now I've vot the exhaust light on as well as the repair light on and when that comes up the car stalls and won't drive. Any suggestions?
Has your car been using oil? Ive had problems with this corsa where the oil pressure switch failed and pushed oil around the wiring loom causing the exhaust sensor to fail. If you disconnect the oxygen sensor wiring loom connector it will be obvious if there is oil inside the connector.
torx bolt - star shaped recess. Tighten to 10ft lbs. Some have hexagon bolt- tighten to 30 ft lbs. Can't get my torx loose, been overtightened by 'garage'.
Good tutorial. However...

Thanks for the feedback. The editing software i used back then was pretty basic so hopefully my newer videos are abit more audio friendly
