relatable! there is so much pressure, here in Canada too, to go to university right after high school. it really feels like your life is going to go down the toilet if you don't get a degree lol. I dropped out of my 2nd year 5 years ago now. I realized I just didn't want to do the thing I thought I wanted to do 2 years prior and couldn't handle school at the time due to mental health issues. at this point, i may pursue a degree again some day (probably part time), but it was 100% the right decision and I don't regret withdrawing from that degree at all. I have still learned constantly the last 5 years without school. congrats on your decision.
this made me feel so much better thank you! just hearing that someone else who did the same its happy and has no regrets is very comforting ❤️i completely agree and so glad that when you changed you mind, you actually listened to your feelings! mental health should be just as much a priority as physical health 💪🏼
Massive well done for realising so early on that for you, a degree in Economics will not help nurture your creativity and desire for a career in the arts. I have always been a creative person but can honestly say that the pursuit of a science degree at university made me almost.. forget about that creativity and I left uni feeling like a shell of the person that I was in years gone by. It's been two years since I graduated and I'm part way through my masters degree now and rediscovering that creative flair has been an uphill struggle. I desperately want to pursue a creative career path but feel that I've led myself in the wrong direction. University wasn't a mistake, and I don't regret going for a second, but I wholeheartedly agree that at 17 it is very hard and very rare to know what you want to do for the rest of your life. Your degree does NOT have to dictate the life you lead post-uni, but I completely understand the inner turmoil that so many people face when making the daunting choice between what your head says is right and what your heart really wants.
Gemma i agree with everything you said! so glad you’re rediscovering your creative side, that makes me so happy :) and you’re right, your degree doesn’t define you and you can do WHATEVER you want when you’re done! thanks for your kind words x
Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
I can totally relate to this. When I was studying, my school also made it out like university was the right and only option for the students. They never gave us any guidance as to what else student can do, other than go to university. I'm happy that you've realised that university isn't for you and doing your own thing now girl!
i'm more than halfway through my undergrad but i've been having such a hard time staying positive and motivated. i know post-secondary school is really helpful for some people who are certain about what they want to do, but like you said.. a lot of the time high school school pushes it on us and makes us feel like it's something we HAVE to go forward with. i'm starting to feel like i'm on the wrong path and that it's not right for me which can def have a way of making you feel torn and miserable af. thanks for this, it was honestly super helpful and interesting. and more of a side note, but your editing is seriously on point and you're so pretty too! i subbed :) looking forward to more from you! xx
Victoria Istrate thank you so much, it honestly means so much to me that I can help you in any little way! I really hope you find your way and everything goes well for you, I’m sure it will ❤️
I’m in university right now and I’m a fresher, I already feel depressed af and soo lonely. Secondly, I agree...the school pushed students to chose university. They never talk about other options, it’s always university. And when students consider other choices other than university, they would make them feel like they’ve chosen the wrong path. All I can say is that I chose university because of my parents, I don’t know what I want to do in the future lol
It’s a brave thing to drop out tbh, or at least the way I see it. I love staying at Uni of Sussex, but there are some people out there that realise that uni isn’t for them much later down the line and it’s probably better to realise that now than any later🤷🏽♀️Good luck though!! X I’m sure you’ll end up somewhere where you’ll be the most happy✨🦋
Rihaboo thank you so much ❤️ I completely agree, realising sooner rather than later was lucky! hope everything goes well for you too, I’m sure it will x

So glad you are pursuing what you want to do!! I'm looking to go to Uni of Sussex (or a uni in London) in September 2020 to do media but don't know if I'm going to pursue that path yet :/
This video was so good for me I'm kinda going through the same thing and it was just what I needed and also I really like the way you talk about it it's strong and makes people (including parents and close ones😊) respect your decision and I just learned this is what I should do thanks for teaching me that ❤ I hope you always be successful and happy in your life 🥰😊💫
You do you. I want to go to college (to get more knowledge, lol) but I’m going to wait a while after high school,:so I can get a nice break from school.
I’m not sure where you’re from but have you heard of community college? It’s better to start there because there’s not as much stress as in university and you can take your time to transfer rather than not going to school at all.
honestly you just have to say it, it's so scary at first but it really helps to just talk, she may not agree but she may also be able to help you but you'll never know unless you try!
Damn let me tell you are not alone... Its the fucking worst. I'm in accounting as well and hating every bit of and what Coco described was just how I'm feeling everyday it's just not for me, my parents don't understand it a d are still insisting its crazy this is the second year doing the same term as last year because i obviously failed and this built up hate is turning into self hate and self harming its some scary shit, i want to get rid of this mindset of if i don't have a degree I'll get nowhere... i need to fix that ... I hope you brought it up to your parents and went well
I think accounting is miserable in general I have no desire to pursue it I just picked it bc I had no idea what to choose and I was decent in math. I dont know why I'm trying so hard to end up miserable.
Hii im your new sub! Glad that i found your channel. Eventho im not contemplating on dropping out college, but i love how your vids are full of contents and quality. Plus your editting skills and you have a great personality too 😍😍😍😍 wish you happy new year and a successful life!!
I am seriously considering withdrawing from my university, and am having real trouble with how I should address my parents with the matter? How did you break it to your parents? xx your video was loads of help, thank you!
it's ok to be nervous but the hardest part is just initiating the conversation, once you're in it, it feels like a weight of your shoulders already! i actually told my dad first spontaneously when i was having lunch with him by saying something like "i've recently been having doubts about uni and am not sure if i want to stay" and then we chatted through it you may want to have a bit of a plan, maybe have some pros and cons and options for if you do drop out so happy i could help x
I'm considering dropping out cause Arts in College cripples my creativity in my Arts real hard! Mhm cherry lips, do they have that sweet sour cherry flavour🍒💋
hey sorry if you said this in the video but how far were u into the course when u dropped out , i have been at uni for just over a week and i am really not enjoying it idk whether its me just feeling lonely most of the time here and homesick or uni and the course im doing is not for me. i have only done one day of lectures and i have no motivation to carry on with it because it was a course that looked interesting at the time i feel like now i have to pursue it . when actually i really like music and singing, but never thought i was good enough. idk how long i should wait before i should consider dropping out very similar to your situation.
