- My love for Russia began in Siberia. Every summer, I would go to the Krasnoyarsk region and Khakassia to see my grandparents. This is where I first got to know this wildly beautiful, vast, and deeply misunderstood country. Russia has always felt like home to me, even when I moved around from one country to the next. But two years ago, I packed up my life and moved to Moscow. It was the best decision I have ever made. 🇷🇺 This is my cross-cultural adventure, a journey that will never end. It’s been a crazy one, especially as a half American living in Russia. But I hope you will join me along for the ride!

I for one, am delighted to see a positive portrayal of Russia. I spent 6 years as a teenager in rural Quebec, Canada and scenes from Russia look similar. In a world that seemingly wants to hate and cancel, Russia needs one more champion... and Sasha is that one!

Russia has never attacked the U.S., but the U.S. did invade Russia -- in 1918, along with the U.K. and 12 other powers -- and our rulers have been quietly waging war against Russia ever since. Much of our $35T debt is due to this war, but war also carries a high "opportunity cost" -- loss of potential friendship and cooperation.

We are only around 9 generations away from a time when I doubt Russia or USA or for that matter much of the world will exist.
Nat Geo predicted, rather accurately, that there are 400 years of *proven* oil and gas reserves remaining, at current usage and population levels. The global population level is increasing, and countries such as India and China are industrializing. So I'd comfortably take 50 years off that prediction.
Once the oil and gas starts to run low, no more medicine, fertilizers, auto-transport, technology etc.
The 3rd world war will be a fight of a scramble for the remaining patches of energy. UNLESS some bright sparks discover an efficient way to harness thermo nuclear fusion power in the next 200 or so years.

I am so excited to watch your videos, Sasha! Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch your previous channel, but I'm glad I'm here for this one! As someone who also never felt like they truly belonged in the countries I grew up in, I identify with you. I unexpectedly also felt at home in Russia even though, from my knowledge, I don't have any family from there. I only lived in Russia for two years before my now husband wanted to come to Mexico for a time, but we both know we want to go back there to live. I look forward to watching your videos and enjoying Russia while in Mexico 😊

Siberia looks so beautiful. My wife and I were blessed to go to Russia once. We stopped in St Petersburg on a cruise. The city was so beautiful, I wish we had more time. I'm so sad that we can't go back now :( We've always wanted to see Siberia

Russia is "deeply misunderstood" only by those who have spent the last 200 or so years trying to destroy Russia, seize its mineral wealth, and use its geographical position to dominate Asia and the world. Those who approach Soviet Russia with a friendly attitude -- as I did in 1982 -- have no difficulty understanding. Russia does not need more territory, but when attacked or threatened, as it was in 1941 and 2014, it responds. That's understandable.
