      I was more concerned about the sound when it was cranking. It sounded down on compression on one cylinder. Bit of dirt behind a valve maybe. Runs mint now though.

      There's one vid on a GS, the common ABS, TPMS, TC fault. I don't see many GSs, only the odd one for a service now and then.

    Good result Steve, the owners should be pleased with that. Are those cam sprockets fitted on tapered ends on the camshafts, no keys?
    What's the difference between the original tensioner and the modded one that comes in the new kit?
    Good interesting content to watch, thanks.

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  Год назад +1

      No tapers, no keyways, they're fully floating. That's why it's important to pin it all before undoing the crank pulley and cam sprockets . I don't know what the internal differences of the tensioner are.

      Yeah, old one is 27mm, new one is 21mm

    Hi Steve I just wanna ask the rotation of the crankshaft pully in MG3 automatic transmission. I only confused, I rotate the crankshaft pully in clockwise and its stop but if I rotate in counter clockwise it rotate smoothly. Thanks for the answer Steve.

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  Год назад

      You should never turn the engine counter clockwise! The timing will jump. If it stops when turning the engine then chances are a piston has hit a valve. Something is wrong and you need to check the timing.

      At the back of the engine just below the starter motor

    Evening mate, im very tempted to purchase a mg mg3. I popped up this evening to check out the 2018 white model you have for sale at the garage. Based on your very sound knowledge, are they a decent car for a family of three to potter around in?

    Seem to have a lot of problems with them MG's

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  Год назад

      No not really. Most of the time they're in for routine servicing. I'm not going to make videos of doing oil changes all day long. I only film stuff that I think is worth watching and that usually is the big jobs, so it make them look worse than what they actually are.

    • @craighorton6387
      @craighorton6387 Год назад

      @@pistonbroke yeah i wasn't slagging your content pal just seen you doing a lot of stuff on these engines thought they where problemsome

    • @pistonbroke
      @pistonbroke  Год назад +1

      I know that mate, the point I was making was that I only film the big jobs like engines and stuff which is a tiny proportion of what comes in on a day to day basis. So I'm probably making them look worse than they are because I only film the big problems.
