    Hi Bill.
First off, thanks for all your videos and help.
Personally I am getting in a mess with where to put my folders.
    No rude answers mate!!!
I and a few others do not use a PC a lot and it is not second nature to know how to do this.
Also it is now clear to me that there are three types of firmware which can or should be updated...
    Tx firmware
    SD card firmware
    Module firmware.
This little surprise can be daunting especially if our folders are not set up in the right place.
Can you please do a video on how to set up folders and keep this firmware tidy?
Nice and slow please so us older farts can cope!
    Cheers
    Peter

Thanks for this video. I went through the steps and when I exited the bootloader screen after flashing, my radiomaster didn't reboot. I was unable to turn the controller on again or get into bootloader mode. I ended up opening the radio and removing the little battery. After doing that I was able to get into bootloader up again reflashed the software and again after completing the process, it won't turn on. Any suggestions? I must be doing something wrong..

Hi Adrian, firstly insure you are flashing the correct firmware and have you also updated the SDCard contents? Is your radio running OpenTX or EdgeTX?

@@the-happy-RC-flyer I am currently running OpenTx, but I started a ticket with RadioMaster and am going to switch to EdgeTX. I had saved my SDCard contents, but not sure what updating means. At any rate I will follow the instructions RadioMaster sent me and let you know how it goes.

Bill: ty for a rapid response. Im on my fourth day of trying to update my new TX16 S max. So far i ve lost the basic settings that came with the radio and the few models i had in it. Mostly struggling with losing the file after saving, which is why im trying to setup my quick access like yours. Dragging and dropping files isn’t smooth with me, when i drag to where i want to drop, it shows a red circle with a line thru it saying no can do. J

John, try left clicking the file then right click it and select copy then go and paste the file where you want it to go. In OpenTX Companion set up your radio and choose the folder you want the back up to go to be saved and restored from. Check this video you have put your comments in it should help you set up the folder in Companion.

Hi Bill, Question concerning disconnecting the radio from the computer. Is save disconnect on the right bottom corner necessary or is disconnecting the radio by only pull the C USB connector allowed without damaging the software

    • @the-happy-RC-flyer
      @the-happy-RC-flyer  3 года назад

Guss that is a good question.
I do not normally “Eject” my TX from the computer and never had any problems . When you plug your TX into your computer I am sure you have noticed two drives pop up. One is the TX’s internal memory which we do not touch and the other the SDCard. I have just tried ejecting my radio from my computer and all you need to do is eject the SDcard one and the other closes too. I would say it is good practice to eject the drive electronically before unplugging your TX from your computer. Great question!
I bet I forget to do it in my videos though!

Hi Bill, been watching channel, lots of good info. Have a question my jumper t18 is a week old I turned it on this morn and the open tx screen froze, had to unplug battery to remove it then
I got bad data. Is there a fix for that?

    • @the-happy-RC-flyer
      @the-happy-RC-flyer  3 года назад +1

Ron I would suggest you flash OpenTX to the radio. You cannot us OpenTX Companion as the T18 is not supported yet.
You can download the firmware from the jumper website put it on your SD card in the FIRMWARE folder.
Then start your radio in bootloader mode, hold both horizontal trim tabs in and turn the radio on.
      Then select Write Firmware.
Select the file you download and placed on your SDCard.
If you radio does that again please try holding down the power button to turn it off without unplugging the battery. Not sure if you tried that first.

Hi John if you mean my folders here they are:
I give each of my radios a folder then the following sub folders
      :
      Amber Sounds
      Firmware Releases (OpenTX)
      Internal Module Update Files
      Lua Scripts
and finally SD Card which has sub folders SD Card Current In Radio & SD Card Releases
Each of my Quads has a folder for its relevant files CLI dumps and firmware updates etc.
I have a folders for Custom Sounds, Model Pictures, OpenTX Companion (for releases), Receivers, TBS Crossfire, TBS Tracer and finally a folder for Sym files.
      A lot of folders!
It is important to back up your firmware and radio settings just in case something goes wrong which it can sometimes. I also back up my radio each time I change the settings on my models.
      I hope this helps.

It sounds like you have not copied 2.3V0035 to the SDCard. I would suggest taking the SDCard out of your radio format it and copy the card contents to it again. Test it if ok copy you custom files to it sounds and model pictures if you have any.

@@RadBudaspectrum-photography You need to set up your AUX Channels in your radio and the basics are on a 2 position switch Armed / Disarmed switch and Flight Modes Acro, Angle & Horizon on a 3 position switch.
      AUX 1 is Ch5
AUX 2 is Ch6 and so on
So let me give you an example:
AUX 1 Ch 5 for Armed / Disarmed
In your radio go to INPUTS line 5 click Enter then move to Source click Enter actuate your preferred switch click Return
In my radios I use SF to Arm / Disarmed the motors.
Now in your radio go to MIXES click Enter on CH5 and hit Return
Your Arm / Disarmed switch is set up on your radio.
You now need to allocate / configure these switches in Betaflight.
