I love the MCU but the way they treat some of they’re characters is just so disappointing Thor is a whole joke character at this point, it still nice to see him fight and stuff but his power gets overshadowed by characters like Dr strange, Captain marvel, scarlet witch who he should be close to if not greater than in power. The Phoenix isnt an evil entity, it wasnt trying to kill Thor. It was on its way to planet Earth and Thor got in its way. It couldve annihilated him with a thought but instead tanked his attacks and then roughed him up a bit and then went about its business. In the most recent issues of Avengers its just been revealed that Thors real mother was actually the 1st known Phoenix host Lady Phoenix. So the Phoenix Force itself has a connection with Thor and so we can look back retrospectively and understand why it didnt just atomize him. The issue also said that the Phoenix Force created the Gods.
