I mean Alex was one of my main influences when it came to writing my own basslines during my live shows era. I used to study how he would throw in sneaky little pattern variations from one part to the next and adapt it into my own work. Still do actually.
In regards to the track. You've really got to pay attention to the slight changes between repeated sections as I stated above. Alex likes to twiddle his basslines so they don't quite sound identical from one verse to the next, even if it is just a one note switch or a hammer-on. I'd possibly put this one up there as one of the more tougher blur basslines to nail if you intend to copy the subtle changes.
I'd not be surprised if during the actual recording he improvises on the spot and each take is different.
