205 isn’t bad on the right tyres, I’m running Yokohama AD08R in this clip. I’m avoiding going too wide, in an attempt to hone my cornering technique 👍🏼
The car has had a few upgrades, mainly for durability / endurance on track days - engine power is near stock though (+10 bhp from a decat manifold and remap) and I’m running 205 width tyres in this video. Anything specific you want to know?
Not at all - most “base spec” 86s in Japan and other markets run 205/55/16 tyres, as do the Gazoo Racing one-make race cars (toyotagazooracing.com/jp/86brz/) so there’s definitely no need for a wider tyre if you pick a good compound 👍🏼
The auto shifts better than US tests indicate, not sure that 205 tyres would be optimum though. My thoughts would be a but wider with a soft compound.

Did you upgraded something? Or all stock.

Why you running 205 width tyres? It is smaller than the stock tyres. Wouldn't it be a little bit small?
