Had a real tough time removing this crease, although I wasn’t going to let it get the better of me! Think I deserve FREE ice cream all year round for saving this panel!
I follow many Dent guys like me around the world, I've been a dent man for 25 years I'm ALWAYS learning different techniques. I've bought and and are using knock down tips and screw on tips that you've suggested and now I'm able to say yes to most train wreck dents and It's increased my business!! Thank you Jake!!!
You never stop learning, I've learnt loads of different techniques watching RUclips videos of other Dent Guys. You never master this trade, I'm always trying to do things differently:-)
💯% Quality Repair. I like to keep my heat gun on the panel consistently so that it doesn’t keep cooling and having to heat. The consistent heat seems to help. The video editing is top notch!!
Thanks Steven, yes one of those heat gun holding gadgets would come in handy sometimes, I'm always juggling all my tools when carrying out these repairs. Keep up the good work on your channel, it's always interesting to see how you guys in the US carry out your repairs. I hope you're busy over there, all the best, Jake
1st Track Dents - I’ve watched a couple of your projects. Nice work! Juggling? Man, I’ve gotta say between tools and shooting a video with all the thought about video angles and lighting you do very well. Just doing the work an extra hand or two would help and you add in the video management too.
Thanks Mark, it has rained here all day for the last 3 days, so I kept myself busy in the dry editing this one. Not sure what's more difficult though, doing the actual job or editing the video! 😁
Excellent work! I am also happy and impressed that the owner actually bothered to have the dent fixed. I see a lot of small delivery and service trucks and often times they look horrible. It's nice to see a business owner that takes pride in not only his products but the appearance of his fleet. I've seen some ice cream trucks locally that you wouldn't want to approach unarmed.
Wish I had a PDR guy in my area as skilled and confident as you. I have a dent at the top of my tailgate and the PDR person I spoke to near me said toss the tailgate and get a new one. I don’t care if it’s looks new when done just want the dent mostly straightened.
Hey Michael, sorry to hear that. Sometimes the top of the tailgate can be a difficult one to do because of the way the panel hinges, trying to get a good view of the dent, place your light and work the tools behind can be a challenge. sometimes the dent can be small or not that challenging, just trying to get on it properly is the problem. Maybe that's why the other dent tech's are struggling with it possibly. I hate walking away from an easy dent just because I can't get on the back of it or can't get it in a position to be able to see it when working it. Keep trying, you may find someone who knows a trick or two. Good luck. Jake
Im a panel beater for years, and i find it very interesting to learn this method of repair, i know its not going to be easy you have to put a lot of patience and skills to do this job.thanks for this channel its amazing how you do this.big thumbs up for showing it to us.
Once again, an amazing repair..!!! Purchased a franchise many years ago and training techniques were nothing to your skills..!!! I understand how exact you have to be, and you are..!!!! You've saved the owner a lot of dollar..!!!$$$
My main dish when having breakfast is to see two of his videos every day. You are a great teacher. Thank you very much. If your videos had a Spanish translation, you would surely have millions of fingers up. (I like it) Mi platillo principal al estar desayunando es ver dos de sus videos todos los dias. Eres un gran profesor. Muchas gracias. Si tus videos tuvieran una traducción al español seguramente tendrías millones de dedos en alto. (me gusta)
I've seen some of your older videos on a different channel and you've inspired me to purchased a basic kit of my own. I still can't believe the time and patience needed to do proper PDR, but I am glad that I can make somewhat presentable repairs, and saving money from taking my cars to the shops! Thank you so much, I just subscribed after a few videos on this channel. Greetings from the tiny islands of Palau!
Great work. It also explains why wraps are better than paint when it comes to stripes and secondary colors. It can be replaced a lot easier than painting it over.
Major props to you mate. I dont know anyone in the PDR game that has this level attention to detail. I thought knocking back those remaining micro dents from the initial pull would have been impossible!
@@1st_track_dents To be honest, even after you highlighted the textured area, I still was unable to distinguish it from the the texture of the colour...
@@Timberwolf69 Thanks, sometimes us PDR techs spend hours on details no one else can see. As long as I can walk away knowing there was no more I could do, then i'm happy. Thanks for watching!
What a great sales point! He lost less money not just with price of repair but the time he would have wasted with the vehicle sitting at the body shop decreasing his sales. Awesome job!
Thanks! Yes this was super challenging due to it not being original paint, but I was pleased with the result, thanks for watching and for your positive vibes! 👍👍
dude you are very good at what you do, I look for inspiration in your videos. I am a beginner sometimes I think about giving up, and I see your love in what you do. I will continue even if it falls several times thanks.
In the beginning there is always a lot of failing, you have to just stick with it. It took me years to get to the level that I am at and I am still always learning. Well done for not giving up too soon and I wish you all the best!
Thank you. Ive been working on a dent like this and a similar method. Its not going as well once it came up. the part were you took it from looking bad to clean is what I am lacking. I am a rookie and it's starting to show.
These dents are very tricky to do, trust me this one gave me a big headache and I nearly gave up on it several times! having the experience of doing a few similar dents makes you stick with it. Good luck and all the best! 👍
Jake you already know you're amazing my friend you always do an outstanding job with your craft and your videos like I said they're just so detailed so much information
THIS VIDEO HELPED MY REPAIR 💪🏻👍🏻 Thank you Jake- this video saved me ALOT OF HASSLE I had a similar repair this week, on an ice cream van- on the front wing over the bodyline- 2 tone! RAINING inside a lock up 🤣🙈 uncanny! What I took away from Jakes video presentation was that the metal was different, thinner (horrid) also the paint was very thin from when the conversion took place and was painted up. So I took extra care and spent a lot of time steadily removing the damage and with Jakes knowledge I made a super successful repair. Thank you Jake, well done and look forward to your next BlockBuster! Martin
It saves working time to the fleet, but it is also super green, no dust, no solvents, no paint, minimum amount of electricity, but a lot of craftsmanship!
brilliant repair again Jake,i actually just got out hospital earlier in the week after major operation and your videos are a great way to rest and get better so huge thanks as always.
I would have thought you would have preferred watching something much more relaxing than someone taking a hammer to a car lol! either way, I wish you a speedy recovery 👊
Spot on, brilliant!! .... In the old days people used P38 to bring the detail back, now it's all paintless ... My neighbour has aske me to do her pickup truck where she hit a post, not much of a dent but I will give this paintless method a go with the glue way slide hammer of doing it.
Brilliant. Been watching a few of your videos and seeing what I can learn! Bought pdr rods but they aren't thick enough! Will buy more like yours but just bought vcds as I need something else to do while we're in lockdown. 👍
that was such a sharp crease and stressed metal, I would NEVER have thought it could turn out so amazing. That texture is nothing in comparison to the original damage!

@Михаил Громов Спасибо, рад, что могу помочь!
@@frogmanvc This was a tricky one, as you need to use a lot of force to move the metal back but that always risks stretching the metal further:-)
Would love for you to add your time on the dent.
