    Since the pandemic started we have had to work very closely online with her physical therapist twice a week. During that time, I have learned so much. Here I am going to show you what our typical session looks like.
    Exercises I share:
    Climbing Stairs (alternating feet and with one hand)
    Kicking Towel Rolls
    Kicking a Ball
    Catching a Ball
    Putting things on a high Table (squats)
    Scoots (Backwards and Forwards)
    Blast Offs

    Hi! Just subscribed! Frst of all I want to thank you for putting up this video and all the videos you made to help parents like us. I have a down syndrome 2 yr old baby boy that I love love so much and care about. If you don't mind me asking, how old is Naomi starts to walk? And what are the things you thought her at home to help her develop her muscle tone to really walk. Can you send me videos on how you taught her or her physical therapy during her early stage of walking. I want to help my son as early as possible. I know you understand what I mean. And when did you start teaching and helping her in developing her speech. What are the initial steps you did to help her develop more in this challenging part of her development. Can you send me the videos or Playlist of those early intervention in her speech and physical therapy. My son is doing his speech and physical therapy twice a week but I need a mother like you to share your knowledge and experience. Thank you for your understanding. We're currently residing in Cyprus 🇨🇾 and I think there in the US you have more advance techniques and strategies to help best a child with ds.

      Oh, I have some videos on that. The biggest help is getting an app to help them talk. We are using TD Snap. I do not know if they have your language though. But any similar app. After using it for some time she has started to say some of the words.
      With forming words, I use a lot of hand gestures. Also drinking from a straw helps with formation, specifically the "G".
      Here's a useful website too: mommyspeechtherapy.com/

    I know your trying and doin your best. But you are asking her to perform tasks that she doesn't even understand she needs to be able to comprehend or understand. Teach her beforehand so she knows what your saying

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  4 года назад +5

      You would be surprised at what she does understand. All of these exercises she performs weekly with the therapist. If you can show me a specific point in the video or time frame, I can be more specific, but she does play games and purposely misbehaves because she doesn’t want to do something. She knows how to manipulate. For example, she knows how to kick a ball. She does this all the time when asked. However in this video, she didn’t want to kick it, she instead plays and trying to mess with me. If your around her a lot you would see what I mean. But trust me when I say, she knows these exercises. She just wasn’t 100% working with me.

    • @kristyniewierski4553
      @kristyniewierski4553 4 года назад +2

      How do you know what HER daughter understands? I’m sure her mom knows exactly what she understands and does not. Naomi is acting like a typical toddler when she’s not doing what her mom is asking she knows exactly what she’s supposed to do and at that moment in time she want to do what she wants ? Just like any other toddler.
