I ordered my GCI TTTF and it's on the way. Last year I didn't over seed because we have been in a drought for three years. Trees are dying even. I had a big oak I had to have cut down and the guys said they are backed up like crazy, that's how dry we have been. It happens every so many years in SE KS I just planted new grass when it started the next summer. The first summer I hit it hard with water and people would stop and even came to my door to ask what and how I did my yard. The next summer I didn't spend the money on watering other then to try and keep the roots alive best I could. This summer same dry, dry so I've lost even more grass. It was let it go or over seed and pray the drought is over next summer. That's what I'm doing.

I’ve been in the same situation here in Concord, NC after full renovation with GCI Cool Blue last fall. I think I may overseed with GCI TTTF this fall and give up on the KBG. Being from KY, I love KBG, but without an irrigation system, and with the cost of city water, airbus a tough proposition here. After a brutal 6-7 weeks we started getting rain frequently in mid-July. Common Bermuda, Nutsedge, and white clover have all been trying to come back. I sprayed Sedgehammer a few days before tropical storm Debby dumped rain the last few days.

If you're running a line that far, you might want to consider fiber. It looks like that's probably further than the max distance for twisted pair wire. Typically cat5 will only go about 320 feet. It's digital so an inch further than the max and you just get zero signal.

Just a thought to all who are overseeding this year who to those who run above ground gardening beds. Instead of traditional black cow/peatmoss combo or the mushroom dirt, try coconut dirt. The quality of mushroom dirt from our local landscaping/excavating company has gone downhill, meaning its got more mulch in it. I believe they are trying to stretch it out or just fool most,"shrinkflation". I found coconut dirt and its absolutely incredible. My flower beds and garden absolutely love it. I ordered enough for my spot overseed this year. Its pulverized coconut hulls. Neat stuff that absorbs and holds an incredible abount of water, buyer beware, its expensive

7 days ago I spread compost on my lawn in the Asheville NC area and overseeded it with GCI Turf type tall fescue and also some Kentucky Bluegrass seeds. I’ve been watering it frequently and lightly to keep the seeds moist. Now I’m noticing 3 to 5 inch white circles on the compost. I think it is actinomycetes from the compost. Is this something I should be concerned about hurting my lawn? Should I treat it with fungicide(s)? If so which fungicides? I've just changed my watering to less run time and also the last run time of the day has been moved to earlier in the day so it won't be so wet all night. Thank you in advance for your advice.

I have dry 'hot spots' in the yard due to the dense clay soil. They either need the all day soaker rains or flooded with a garden hose to keep up with the rest of the yard. This yard probably needs 2" of rain per week so it don't dry out. Ideally had I known about this during the home build and final grading of the lot, I would have had spent the money on getting all that clay dozed out and had premium top soil put in, that is more grass friendly.
