I bought these lights but came with no instructions. After watching part 1 & 2 I am very confident on the procedure to follow and planning on attempting this when the sun shines in the UK. Great video and thank you.

Thanks, yes u need new wire everything like in video and u have to remove original Ambient light

These have been the most detailed videos I’ve seen on how to do this thankyou so much I’ve had my set of ambient light for over a year but couldn’t find a way on how to code and install them ! I have a 2016 bmw 340 is the coding the exact same way? And the 16 pin connections would I have to do that as well because I believe I have nbt !

@@cookzthebarber1899 doesn't matter, find 4 empty pin and plug them just be careful from other side they should match colour to colour
@@yourambientlight the problem is the assembly doesn’t come out as easy as it does for the f10 on your video I was hard stuck on that part but I got the coding and all thanks to you
I tried pulling the assembly cover off but it doesn’t peel back to reveal the wires

Hello... just one question... I want to install ambient light on my car but I don't have ambient light at all from the factory... is it possible to code then via CAN box as you showed in your video... do you have to connect all the lights via CAN box or... thanks

Hi! There is no possibility to upgrade the software for more colours? On my 535d 2015 I've only Classic and Modern colour.
Control box will give you that

If u have 1 colour from factory have to remove and stick behind
@@yourambientlight Thank you for your reply. Does that mean if I don't have the light package from factory I don't have a pre drilled hole？I don't want to do any damage so I ask these questions. Also I noticed, f10 of all years share the same door lining part number. So I assume they all should be the same, i.e. with a hole from factory？
@@jasony486 bro if u don't have from factory u have hole a f10 have ,just if u have u have to cut and remove optic tube and holder if u don't have is better because u don't to remove anything, just stick stip behind

Hey man, thanks a lot for this video! I did everything the same, but when I started the car, none of the lights are working (the idrive controller is working though).
The module is powered, I've checked the module to the lights connection and that's okay too...
Do you have an idea what could be wrong?

@@petarsotra2710hey did you order a new module and it worked? I just installed mine and has the same exact issue as you, when I connected my module it literally caught on fire lol. But are you NBT or CIC?
@@dizzro Yeah, the seller sent me a new one and everything worked properly after installing it. I have nbt.
@@petarsotra2710 do you know how it works for pre lci NBT? Because my car is 2013 but NBT so I ordered the NBT module and it fits my cars idrive but do I have to code it since I don’t have the lighting options that the LCI has

Hi there, i have the original ambient light (only orange) in my F10 2011. can i also install the 9-colored ambient light there, i have the cic system and i don't want to program anything. Thank you in advance.
So u have to remove your original optic tube u not need it
Intro 387 if your system is CIC u don't need to code .u can change colours by pressing button on radio 4 or 5 few sec to acctivate them after 6-7to change colours

Did u installed them.u need cic module for lights, if u connected and they flashing up white color. Now u have to press and hold few sec button 4-5 on the radio fee sec then 6-7

Hey i have a question first sorry for my english, i have installed the same light set for nbt and the leds are on ( the car is closed the ignition is off and the leds all are on dont go off they go off after 5-10 min but if i turn my light switch on 0 the led light is on what can i do?
Hi man,u have to cut brown wire before idrive and run to fuse under storage box
Find ignition that is switched off after u take key of is yellow one 20A
Oh okay because i habe buy the set and its say plug and play they said i need nothing to cut… you mean the brown wire from the box ( that is connected with the idrive controler ? On your video i dont see the cut

Hello. I have done everything the same but in the end my idrive controler not working and ambient is not lighting. I have worked with car battery unplugged. What can be ghe problem? I have checked some fuses but I don’t know which one is the right one . Thanks

Is possible but u will not have access in idrive and u don't need to code just have to pres few sec radio button nr6 to change i have video with black f10 that's 2011
@@yourambientlight my car is 06/2014. I have nbt id4. I think if nbt after 09/2014 have this option, it’s just software. So it could mean that nbt need an upgrade. ?

I have a 525d 2013. NBT. The seller says I should buy CIC because controls can't be coded in on models older than 2014. I just can't believe that. Is it true? Also I have every module in bimmercode to code it just like in the video.

@@tarakonas13 Installed nbt, coded it in, but for some reason it didn't work. Seller sent me the manual on how to convert the module from nbt to cic so it wasn't all for nothing

Salut, astăzi am reușit să le montez și eu pe mașina mea. Un f11 din 2017 cu lumini ambientale din fabrică.
Cele noi stau aprinse și pe timp de zi față de cele originale care se aprindeau doar seara. Este vreun mod de a le face să se aprindă doar seara când se aprind și farurile, exact că cele originale? Mersi frumos
Nu poti numai manual,sa ke syingi sau sa aprinzi ,daca ai codat si masina e nbt poti din meniu ,daca CIC atunci tii apasat pe 1 la radio
@@yourambientlight da da am codat totul cum ai făcut tu, great video💪. Deci este normal să stea aprinse tot timpul. Am observat că rămân încă 10 secunde circa și după închiderea mașinii.

Trebuie sa scoti tot,si sa face aceiasi procedura,plus ca tuburile trebuie sa le arunci ,la fel ca plasticul ala care tine tubu,succes
@@yourambientlight N-am de gând să mă bag în așa ceva, dar o idee despre cum aș putea să leg un tub de neon (sau altceva), care să pară cât mai original, pe bord? Curent mă gândesc că pot lua de la luminile de la picioare, să se aprindă doar când se aprind și cele de pe uși, etc. Mersi anticipat!

Hi I came to install the lights and find that my idrive has 10 pins but connector to module appears to be 4 pin. When you powered up the lights do you see a red light inside the module and does that flash and then switch off or does it stay on all the time.
Also I find that the first 4 wires in 10 pin and 4 pin are the same. Can i hook the 4 pin wire to this and plug the module in
@@depakkumarmistry7051 it should blink also u may need to check dose dip switch 1down 2 up is cic or nbt if otherwise cic i both down is nbt button control

@@Toliani4 wasnt possible, you need to have the nbt iDrive, otherwise it wont work. Or maybe you could do an update.
@Muzafar Sadat you can buy unit for the CIC and you don't need to code, to change light you gonna have to press buttons on your radion unit
