Thanks Discourse!!! The reality is, I didn't realize my Mcdonalds Haloween themed Orks looked similar to Guys Orks until he pointed it out... then I asked him if I could exploit this fact for clickbait purposes lol
I think you touched on a point here that a lot of people miss. It is far better to find a scheme you have fun painting for an army instead of a fast technique. No matter how fast the technique when applied over the unit it becomes a slog. Having fun while painting means you don't care how long it takes it which makes it fly by and you complete it. Nothing worse than forcing your hobby to become a chore.
First time viewer here! The Midwinter Minis clickbait appeased the algorithm gods and your video popped up. As someone who is just getting back into mini painting as an adult i love how professional and artistic your style is, and you explained everything in your workflow so well! The part about cmyk color theory and then being able to see how you apply it was amazing and even just the magenta and yellow layers gave such a vibrant and lively effect on their own. I cant wait to see more from you and i hope i can learn a few things and try that cmyk method once i can afford new supplies.
such a wild style of painting, i absolutely love it!! the whole way along it looks totally insane but every drop of paint looks totally deliberate at the end they look just awesome
Came for the ClickBait, stayed for the Quality Content~❤️ Lovely video Dana - I really love how you take the time to talk through your inspirations, color choices, and how you develop your pallet. That extra context really elevates the entire paint-job!
Your painting style always reminds me of impressionist paintings, in the best possible way. And I love the color schemes (even when you are 'stealing' them from Guy lol!)
I myself did a warband of (fantasy) orcs during Orktober, also in a Halloween color scheme. Green for the skin, a muted purple for the tunics, splashes of pumpkin orange here and there, and burnt sienna for the leather and rust effects (so a more desaturated orange). I'm still a beginner painter, but I think it turned out better than I expected. I even experimented with free-handing individual designs on all of their shields, including some drawn flame effects I'm pretty proud of.
Another great one, Dana. I really like these collaborations! Guy's makeup is pretty close to BillionDollarClownFarm's "Crow-inspired" orks so I'm guessing the IP wars are about to kick off (just kidding!). Thanks so much for the work you put in to these; I always enjoy your videos.
Very cool take on a very cool scheme 😉! I imagine it's pretty straightforward airbrushing over a white-ish basecoat, but I'd love to hear how you did the small osl details on the dollhouse!
me after spending way to much time painting lots of detail on my previous orks: my kommandos are going to be my introduction to speedpainting. dana’s beautiful orks: you sure about that?
Those ork boyz look well mint. That'[s how these minis are supposed to look, not with all that realistic weathering. I see enough of that boring stuff in real life hah . Cheers Dana. Keep up the good work.
Mom... she's doing it again... she's calling the Ork fortress a doll house!!!! You are to adorable Dana!!! Besides chopping all your barbies hair off... im putting black ink in all your girlie colors... bahahaha
I love orks and kommandos in particular. You have given these an incredible look (even if there is a little nod to Guy there - or was it Gene Simmons?) I learn so much from your videos that I take into my own painting. Thank you and please keep these up.
nice colours and bases, awesome as usual and better looking that that other you tuber, will you be doing Warcry Red Harvest, will allow you to update your theory video.
Oh shoot, I am totally going to call these products playlets moving forward. I remember wanting the Batman Animated Series Batcave when I was a kid but was too poor to get it so me and my older brother built one out of cardboard boxes it was massive when we laid it all out in our room it took up the entire floor space.
With how little I'm actually playing the games these days, I've been calling my hobbying "pretty much dollhouses with dragons and killer robots" for a while ^^ Kriegsters next? :D
Not only did you steal from me, you also did it better than me. How. Very. Dare. You.
Oh she very much dared!
I dunno Guy that Gargant is honestly breathtaking ✨☠
@@DanaHowl do you have enough accumulated scrap to outdo his?
LOL. Now you need to steal her...technowave?...oh wait...you di...
Theft is the sincerest form of flattery, I think the saying goes.
*Guy does anything*
*Dana:* Don't worry, bro, I'll just take that off your hands, you got kids to look after.
I love when the ork dollhouse is included.
RIGHT? I think an Ork Dollhouse should come free with every purchase of anything
@@DanaHowl agreeeed
Your not krumping unless your ork boys can have a nice home to go back to

Your channel is great Dana. So fun, chill and very unique among other painting channels I've seen. I love your approach so much!
Thank you Andrew!
You make it look so easy! I love this scheme - stolen or not (pfft, nothing original these days anyway!). They look incredible.
Thanks Discourse!!! The reality is, I didn't realize my Mcdonalds Haloween themed Orks looked similar to Guys Orks until he pointed it out... then I asked him if I could exploit this fact for clickbait purposes lol
@@DanaHowl Thats hilarious!
all good dana we are just happy to have another video from you, nomatter the thumbnail

Love it when members of the miniature painting youtube community do mini crossover cameos in each others' videos!
I think this is the most I’ve ever seen Dana smile during a vid. Unnerving 😉
I can only contain my multitude of teeth for so long
Nice shout out to elminiaturista, his OSL and airbrushing skills are insane!
Yeah I'm a big fan!
Very nice and vibrant. I think you really tapped into the sillyness and happy go fighty nature of the Orks of old :) Thanks for the vid!
I love how the metallics turned out. I am going to steal that
But they were, all of them, deceived, for another Sand had been made.
***DARK SAND HAS ENTERED THE CHAT***
The drybrushing metals idea is fantastic, definitely going to start incorporating it to my routine :)
I fell in love with these "McDonald Orks" and I am in the process of copying your schemes on my own set of Kommandos. Thanks so much for this video.
I’ve been waiting and hoping for this video!!! Thank you so much, I’ve always loved guy’s ork color scheme of orange and purple.
Dear Dana, This is absolute joy to watch! Thank you ! 😊
Great to see you expanding on the CMYK process, it made the Ork skin so simple but effective. Definitely something I may explore.
I love Dana!! She funny and clever and good at paintings! 🥰🐶
such a wild style of painting, i absolutely love it!!

they look just awesome
They look absolutely stunning. This video was fantastic.
Amazing results. I love them Boyz!
Thank you for sharing your method for these awesome minis! Will definitely be steal...using it as inspiration for mine!
Guy should wear that makeup for the next month of videos!
Or the next year of videos!!!
I love Guy, Dana & this colour scheme! It's brilliant.
Looks incredible :) and 90min per figure is INSANE for that
I adore the vibrancy of all of your stuff! Always inspiring me to be a little more brave with my paints :)
Dark Sand!? Who are you, Nega Dana!?
Awesome ! Thanks for sharing this dana 😊
Yass! !! Been waiting on this one
Great video. Will definitely come back and watch again.
Great video love the scheme, great cameo from guy @midwinterminis nice to see the makeup return, it should be in every video
Came for the ClickBait, stayed for the Quality Content~❤️

Another classic Dana vid. Hell yeah.
I love the dollhouse, their inhabitants and the friends they have over, looks brilliant!
That Ork skin with the yellow skin is great, def using that next time I do orks!
Your painting style always reminds me of impressionist paintings, in the best possible way. And I love the color schemes (even when you are 'stealing' them from Guy lol!)
Love your very talented work!
I love your style - it's so different from the Heavy Metal stuff

I read: "Crow-inspired" orks
I see: the not-too-distant future, next Sunday, A.D.
Really inspiring for my Ork Kill Team! Thank you
Magenta ink and Iyanden Yellow is a stroke of genius. I'll have to remember that when I do my orks
So great to see another collab between you and Punished Venom Guy
These are your best pieces imo. Even up close they look really painterly and creative. Great job !
Good looking Orks! You should get a black light and check out how it makes those look...
You paint so differently and I love it
great work Dana, I really like your videos

Wait wait wait...dark sand? I just bought my first bottle of pale sand because of you Dana. Is there no end?
The metals look awesome. I'll have to try that method our myself
I really enjoyed the "beef" with Guy haha.
these are ridiculously well done.
These look great, i think I'll get round to building these now because I'm looking forward to painting them with this scheme
These are amazing, Love them!
me after spending way to much time painting lots of detail on my previous orks: my kommandos are going to be my introduction to speedpainting.
dana’s beautiful orks: you sure about that?
Amazing, as always.
Oh man look at that Guy liner
Dana: I hope Guy doesn't send a cease & desist...
Scary Guy: Is my corpse paint a joke to you?!
Cool, will definately borrow some ideas from your painting style for mine.
Yep. Definitely calling Terrain my dollhouses now.
Those ork boyz look well mint. That'[s how these minis are supposed to look, not with all that realistic weathering. I see enough of that boring stuff in real life hah . Cheers Dana. Keep up the good work.
what is the purple /orange paint?
Thank you. Intrigued by the magenta base for the skin.
That color scheme looks amazing!

Everything is cooler with a bit of purple!
The orcs look great. Will definitely be referencing some of this process to do some post-apocalyptic minis : D
Those orks just kept getting better and better.
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Dana Howloweenie!
Awsome result.
That skin tone looks amazing. I'm not sure why, but it reminds me of the Battletoads of all things.
Everything dana says makes absolute sense and looks amazing as usual. And as usual if I tried it I'm sure it would look awful.
So good! Thank you.
Dope Video Howl. Stay Waaaghed up
Ho jeez, these look remarkable!
That striped shirt look make me wanna do an Orc BloodBowl team with Rugby Sweaters
Beautiful job! Inspiring, and thanks.

Skin tone method was like magic, how does yellow turn to green on black and white zenithal?
I think its just an illusion? if you desaturate a cool yellow it looks green
Love these! Should have sculpted some of the McD pails and put them on some of the bases :P
WOW yes thats an idea for next time
Not got round to painting my set so this is an awesome inspiration of ideas (aka stealing the theme).
Dang it now I really want to make my jiangshi ork commandos
I've been looking for inspiration to start painting my orks. I might have to "steal" this. Also, liked and subscribed
Any suggestions on how to replicate the airbrush base coats without an airbrush?
Orktober in November. Darn it i failed shame golf at about +20 and black friday sale of dominion did me in twitch twitch.
"An Ork painted this after all so it doesn't have to be perfect"
Ouch, shots fired.
I remember having one of those McDonalds candy buckets
Really nice!!
"A dollhouse for them to live in!" ... YES!
With how little I'm actually playing the games these days, I've been calling my hobbying "pretty much dollhouses with dragons and killer robots" for a while ^^
Kriegsters next? :D
Let us not forget the sacrifices of the kriegsmen
It's a different style but it totally works!
I totally had those pails!!
how the f I ended here, I have no idea but, I am here for it:)
