Need one? What do you mean? Running around looking for my tools is my main cardio workout!
Yeah, I better build a couple.
I’ve built one similar to your first, a bit wider with a flat top to sit/saw on. I call it my Stool Box 😂
Sweet idea! Maybe I will build one this weekend with my daughter.
You’re the man. Seeing that come out made my day leading up to Father’s Day. I’m excited to build both.
I make totes in all sizes, really fun to make! Need to try that second one
My dad made me (and himself) a box solar to the first one over 35 years ago. I still use it. After all it has my name stenciled on the side :)
A couple of five gallon buckets one with one of those many pocket tool bucket liners have served me pretty well.
Funny thing is it's so simple a bunch of Freshman in High School could do it. I know, because I and so many others did lol! Woodworking class was always so much fun to me, apart from the sawdust 😂.
Hello and welcome to The Woodwright's Shop....
Thats the tool tote Roy Underhill had on PBS back in the day
I’m doing fix-ups in my new house. I have about 15 tools in a cut down cardboard box and several scattered around the house. This is exactly what I need.
Make the top of tote flat as it gives you a place to saw 😮
I use a wood tote my dad built in Jr. High in the late 60s. He used it a lot as a tote, but eventually became a catch all box. I keep the tote empty and use it as a classic tote for project needs.
Im making one with my son this week its gonna be his first to start collecting tools in
Thanks for plans )
Dovetail those corners and dado those short panels to accept the spacer and you got a friendly intermediate project you can hone your skills on 😝
Thanks 🎉
Thanks from Guatemala
Free!!.?? I'm in!! I love totes!
Compound dovetails ftw
When ever I need more tools than I have hands, I attach them to my Belt and I wear my working pants with multiple pockets... then I walk were ever I need to go. Then I think I need a tool tote... and forget about it until the cycle repeats😂
Oh hey, is that the St. Roy tote?
Or a 5 gallon bucket
After having two sons, I'm still waiting to be dad like this.
Built on years ago and had Norm Abrams sign it. Then like a dumbass I got rid of it because I was tired of dragging it around when I moved.
Home depot bucket
Three words five gallon buckets
Could it be thinner to be less heavy? Would like to make one for my wife.
The thinner you make it the less stuff you can put in it. You could make one out of sheet aluminum much lighter. Or you could buy one from harbor freight or home Depot or something like that made out of canvas, nylon, and/or plastics
@@xXVintersorgXx aluminium would be nice, but I'm from Brazil, the only thing I have here easy to find is wood.
12mm ply or slightly thinner wood will work fine. It all depends how much weight you want to put in it.
make it out of white pine - its not heavy
Weighed mine - 3.4kg (all 3/4 inch dried pine). Surprised it was so heavy, but also surprised how many tools these can hold. Its a great project and you could make a smaller version. These hold a third more tools than the more common one at the start of the video.
Commenting below
Make it out of aluminum so it doesn't weigh 20 lbs empty
