    Isn’t the transmission fluid flammable?

This job is kind of mechanics burning hazard . Would it be possible to have some sort of special isolated cover tool to perform this job? It doesn't seem to be safe for drainage even with gloves on.

It definitely has the potential to burn you. Maybe long welding gloves, or a hot pad from the kitchen on the pipe.

@@MasterJacks for over 80 Celcius kitchen long gloves wouldn't hold tolerance. Perhaps titanium costumized ones should be the expensive solution. Bad designing from GMC as usual.

It really is poor design. Not just for checking the fluid, but running the pipe right under transmission. That's adding a lot of heat, and makes maintenance difficult. They've been doing it for years

What are your average outside temps right now? What kind of driving (city/towing/average speed)?

@@MasterJacks right now summer times is 90°F-100°F, during the week i’m driving 40mph to work and back, but on friday i’m going 70mph-80mph for 2 hrs back home. and no i’m not towing anything , i haven’t yet and it’s marking me the 198-210 mark.

@@edwinmuniz1263 that does seem on the higher end for the type of driving you describe. It may just be related to your outside temps right now. I see 165-185 in the 80-90's. I'd check the fluid level and not sweat it too much if the level's okay.

@@MasterJacks i was wondering if the 3.0L diesel transmission be running warmer than the 5.3L gas transmissions. asking in general. If u have any knowledge in those transmissions (talking gmc sierra) because one of my buddies has a gmc sierra 5.3L 2021 and his stays @174°F - 176°F while on long distances and when i’m long distance in my 3.0L it stays @198°F -200°F
