The future of the 3 is uncertain because of the rise of SUV's in the American market and Mazda's own focus on SUVs! The current 3 is damn near perfect in every way with the exception of fuel economy and lack of adequate rear legroom. For Mazda to avoid a CVT, they would need to introduce a hybrid model for the American market (Skyactiv-X?). Furthermore they would need to increase the interior room. Increasing the size is questionable because their newest and best selling model the CX-30 is built on the same platform. How do they change the size of the 3 and not the 30 which is too new for a redesign? Meanwhile, there have been no leaked pics or spy shots of a new model out in the wild, so a new model is not coming for the 2025 model year!
