- I bought a crash damaged 2022 911 Porsche GT3 from auction to rebuild in 24hrs but failed. Over the past few months ive been finishing the build in hopes to get my warranty back from Porsche but then i made a huge mistake.

Can people chill out on the comments to the bodyshop please guys 🙏 I’ve used them for years always done a mint job and all my cars. 1 mistake which was rectified by them instantly is no sweat 😅. The car looks mega and that’s all that counts 🙏

I personally never made a comment on the body shop, however i will just say, i do completely realise why they didn't tell you about the damage,
Is it skammy/dishonest, maybe... however its a one off mistake.
Thats just how all businesses operate, if they all admited to every one of their mistakes, they wouldnt last long financially, it just shows that you all have never owned a company before!!

That's quite a cheeky move from the body shop. I wouldn't be happy if someone who I pay to do a job, causes damage, and then tries to hide it by sloppily repairing it and never owning up to it, until confronted by the customer.
Always be honest even if you mess up
They should have definitely confessed straight away. "We screwed up, but new part is ordered and on its way."
That way you get return business 9 times out of 10.
Yeah I'd be pissed, wouldn't be going back to them. They owned up to it he says, yeah only after they'd been caught out.
The thing that makes it worse is they would have taken full payment and smiled in his face, knowing what they had broken and thought they would get away with it. Something similar has happened to me at a different bodyshop, which im going through legals at the minute but I never thought a high profiled RUclipsr like Matt would experience this, especially when he documents everything and has a massive audience....Madness! I just hope the bodyshop learns from this L. Honesty is 🔑

Quick tip Mat, on all VAG cars, Porsche aswell, partnumbers for left hand side parts end in an odd number, and right hand side parts end in even numbers, so example 5VE 425 301 for left, and 5VE 425 302 for right. Hope this makes it easier in the future.
They could have boxed in wrong at the factory, which does happen regularly !

That body shop was cheeky, broke the light, tried to fix it without saying anything, got caught, good job you record everything, I wouldn’t trust them again!

The way that car seamlessly peeled a layer of grass and rolled it up like a carpet...the driving skills...pure perfection. Never seen a driver able to do that with such finesse. Bravo!

This would‘ve been the last time I visited that body shop. Not because they damaged the light, but because they tried to hide it. That‘s a no-go!
Calm down they owned up after yes its wrong but im sorry compared to most body shops in the country the work they do it fucking incredible

I’m sure Ben pointed this out - it takes anyone a minimum of ten laps to learn a track. Working as a racing instructor at Palmersport for many years - I was asked a simple question on my first day, if a professional racing driver gets in the driving seat next to you, what do you do? My immediate response and naivety was “let them crack on” to be immediately corrected. They won’t know where they are going, as instructors we knew the track better than anyone. Point is. 10/10 for the send but having seen a roll over at 170mph which had less lateral force than your off, two things, roll cage and full face helmet / hans device on track if you’re even thinking about pushing limits of the cars. I’m sure I speak for everyone, we’d hate to see anything happen to you. I’m sure you’ve learnt your lesson. Just hope others are able to take it onboard as well. You were unbelievably lucky there. Keep up the good work.

It would of got found out when he took it to Porsche saying it had water damage they would of took one look at it and declined it saying it been broken and repaired so not there fault and matt would have had to pay for it. I would never use that body shop again so untrustworthy on a car like that and not tell no one as they know it would go to Porsche for inspection and i bet they would of found that and fail it warranty.
Did they really think they would get away with it such bad business name and shame them so people know not to go there as a risk with matt like that what do you think they would do with your car lucky he has vids to back it up as if he did not they would have not owned up to it.
I’ve always wondered how much of a difference driver training would make to how these cars perform and how the driver feels about the cars. I love these videos and in the interest of Matt and family and us being able to enjoy these videos for years to come, I hope we soon see Matt’s journey as a driver as well as a mechanic. Not that a better driver would make the mistake of going for it, referring to a comment from memory was a bit silly for a cold run in a nice car!

Fair play to Matt for not taking it badly about the body shop breaking the light. I would be fuming if I’m honest you. I wouldn’t mind a little thing but when the part costs as much as them lights do it would annoy ya.
Yea and think if he did not have the vids to back it up can bet they would never own up to it as if they risk that with matt what would they do with your car i would never use them again and name and shame them so other will know what they are like. If they just owned up to it said they patched it but if it not work we will pay for it there would be no problems but hiding it till they got found out is just wrong how many more have they done like that to other people not have vids like matt does to know it was them shameful behaver from the body shop and people should know what they are like.
@@giggity4670 He would still have the bills and everything proving that he bought a new light. And the bodyshop were the only ones who took the car apart between him putting the light in and him realizing that it was full of water.
They should have admitted they caused some damage to the light as soon as it happened that is very bad move from that body shop not to say anything until they got found out
My running theory is that Mat has ran out of crash damage exotic cars to rebuild in the UK so he has turned to making his own supply

Looking at the replay that was real lucky it didn’t roll. Back in the day I was lucky enough to have a track day in a Lotus(!) but got kicked off for “reckless disregard of human life”! Sometimes you just want to keep pushing the envelope but sometimes you need to take a step back and ease up a bit. You got a great life please keep yourself safe buddy 👍🏻

According to the g-force graph you have lifted your right foot in the same moment when you turn left. So the balans of the car goes forward making rear axis light and that initiates the drifting phase. It’s good that you and the car are OK.

That's two crashes you luckily walked away from Mat. You did not find the limit of the car, you found your limit at reading the road and not being fully prepared with a couple of test laps at slower speeds to find the limit of the car. Why on earth did you decide to race the vehicle before its inspection and reinstatement to the warranty? Love your content and really admire how you have developed over time. You are obviously a generous guy as well so FFS don't kill yourself and listen to that other voice in your head, you know the sensible one. take care m8 and make many more videos in good health.
I think he needs to worry more about Hana killing him for putting her through this stress twice in a month, all jokes aside glad he came out of it unhurt and as someone who was a former adrenaline junkie it might be time to start ignoring that little voice that says "what's the worst that can happen".
In order to be good at extreme sports like bmxing you need to have some mental blocks missing. I used to skate alot and my friends that were good had no sense of self preservation. Makes sense though.
