  • In this video, Pete and Ell take a look at the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 in the UK and give some first impressions. This is the tent we will take with us on our section hike of The Pennine Way in August.
What do you think of this tent?
Excuse the dead cat mic cover that kept sliding off into the frame during the video
Filmed on the GoPro Hero 9 Black

It'll be good to see how the tent gets on with the p way personally I'd take something a bit more robust, good look from Yorkshire

I love mine, so easy to put up and very light.

Some things are definitely worth the price! Wait to you see DCF and Hilleburg tents 😅😅

So how did this tent hold up against the UK weather? Particularly interested to see how the water resistance performed, as the low HH ratings on most of the ultra light tents always sounds fairly inefficient!

Have you checked out our Dartmoor video? If not, please do! You'll be surprised how this little tent handled. If I'm being honest, I would NOT be comfortable taking this up to the Lakes or Scotland, unless I know there will be 0 wind!

Wonderful review. I think there’s a caterpillar trying to eat your camera… but remarkably little wind noise ;-)

haha! Oh yes, that's Frankie, the caterpillar. Don't worry, we have upgraded the audio for the next backpacking season. So make sure you're subscribed for more videos this Spring -> Autum.

At the time we bought it, it was out of stock in the UK. We actually had to have our family send it from the US. Also, when we eventually go to Australia it will blend in with the landscape there.

It's not a true cross pole design unfortunately, wouldn't personally be confident in strong winds..
Nice all the same, ticks "most" of my personal preferences. 👍

You’ll be surprised actually! We’ve used it in pretty heavy winds before when camping in UK winter and it held up really well, however, we used 1 trick to help. Would you be interested to see what that was?

You’d be surprised! We took it out during a Christmas Eve wild camping trip in the South Downs. Strong wind and rain all night. Handled it like a champ. Would it work in Wales in Mid winter? No.
