  • Where does my clothes come from, how did it end up in my wardrobe and what do I pay for? That’s often an untold story that not many us of know.
As you probably already know, we are pretty passionate about sustainability. While we always strive towards using surplus or vintage garments in our production, we also try to seek out new and better solutions.
We also wish to be as transparent as possible. (di)vision basics has become a reality as we learned that every day, clothing companies go bankrupt. A bankrupt company sometimes means a warehouse full of stuff that can’t be sold. Perfectly fine stuff just gets piled away in some dusty warehouse and forgotten for years.
This is where (di)vision comes to the rescue! We wish to save these perfectly fine garments from their gruesome destiny as landfill and give them a second chance. We simply buy the bankrupt stock from a third party seller and turn them into (di)vision basics items. We wash, distress, screen print and basically gives them the luxury treatment they deserve.
Buying this kind of stock often means we have to buy very large quantities, but at a low cost.
So what are you paying for?
As a small company there goes a lot of time into finding these items for you. We need to make sure they are in good shape, multiple sizes and colours and they are shipped from a nearby country. All of our prints are made in Copenhagen by hand with high quality, water based ink to minimize our footprint. Last, our basic products are prepped up with a one-off treatment with wash, distressing and new labels to give them a new perception.
So basically no clothes were made making these clothes.
Please, enjoy your (old)new item from (di)vision basics.
    It’s been waiting for you...
