I've had mine since back in Jan -24, running a 7800x3d with a 4090, i upgraded from a 6700k, 2080 and a Samsung 34" Uw. Alot of people just shit talks this monitor alot, probably people who have never ever sat in front of one or are just jealous. Its a great monitor for gaming, and good for watching movie or youtube...
Hi OP, any feedback on using the monitor for office apps, such as minimum viewing distance or any other kind of changes you had to do to make the 80ppi bearable when working with text-based apps. TIA!
I have a few questions if you don't mind answering 1. Does this monitor do well as a single source work laptop for multiple windows placed around the screen? 2. Can you save a custom layout for that source or have to resize the screen? 3. How does the monitor work with teams?
I have recently picked this up for just this purpose and run multiple PC's. First, question, does this monitor do well as a single source with multiple windows placed around the screen. For a windows PC, yes (running windows 11 pro). This monitor is 4k, so with a single input it will do 4k and on the windows pc, I have the option of four windows when i hover over the full screen or window button i have options of 3 or four windows and it places them in the window I select (this happens on my windows work laptop and home pc). The custom layout for the source can be handled in multiple ways, you can default to the os, download use Samsung's easy setting software, use windows power toys FancyZones (free from Microsoft), try out Display Fusion. Please be aware, that If this is a single connection, the source will always default to full screen unless you have a multi-view setting of RUclips, pc, clock, etc. For teams, I had to run two display cables and plug them into the HDMI ports on the Ark, and then set multi-view mode. Multiview allows the ports to display as, side by side, one on the left, three on the right or all four. When this occurs, the display sets the windows into a max of 1080P, I set the display settings scale to 100% and made a teams call and shared my screen. My team members on the call were able to see the screen perfectly and did not have to adjust anything.
The biggest problem with this display is the problem from the original which is you cant have an ultra wide below with the two monitors at the top of equal size as it was originally advertised. I dont want dead space and i dont want 4 small monitors that is why I just stack 2 G9s.

1,999 for the 55" gen two currently
There's some hardware upgrades in there for sure but I wasn't able to find aa reliable resource for it. From what I understand the Multi View update is not just simply a software fix, but a hardware upgrade on the internals. The media box which you connect your inputs is completely different than the 1st Version
I ordered one on Black Friday….
Let's goooooo 🔥💯👊🏼
what is that wallpaper?
Finnally a review i have been waiting ❤
Should I get this or the g9 49inch monitor?
I'd go with the OLED G9. I think that's my favorite monitor for 2023 overall 🤙🏻🔥
go with oled g8.. oledg9 is tooo wide, also many games are not supported for that ration. + corners in games in pxel flled and stretched . + in normal productivity,, the far corners are not easily visible without moving side ways.
i returned g9 n got g8.
also if you can wait for an year,, there is 3rd gen also coming in ark. many problems like 2 audio not working are being fixed
So they couldnt make an update for the previous? besides the usb c its the same SH$T
lol
It's an effin joke, right? They won't even make the Gen2 One connect Box compatible with the Gen1 Monitor, Samsung have actively made it incompatible to stop anyone that bought the Gen1 from being able to purchase a Gen2 Box and have multi-view like they should have in the first place. You have to purchase the whole thing again, so not only did they rip me off in the first place by selling me a dud product but they are trying to rip me off again. Yeah, no thanks. I'll never EVER buy anything Samsung again so long as I live.
Why do u wanna spend money on ANOTHER one? Is the gen 1 not enough for you??
@@charlesa3505 _Why do u wanna spend money on ANOTHER one?_
We don't.
_Is the gen 1 not enough for you??_
The Gen 1 does not support Multi-View from multiple HDMI, you can only use 1 and then Samsung's own crappy apps so it's useless for that. So many people complained that they fixed it but instead of releasing an update for all the people that bought a Gen 1 Monitor they released the Gen 2 with an upgraded One Connect Box that supports Multi-View but actively made the updated One Connect Box non-compatible with the Gen 1 Monitor to purposefully stop anyone that has a Gen 1 Monitor from purchasing it and enjoying real Multi-View. Considering the Monitors themselves on both Gen 1 and Gen 2 are identical they are just screwing over everyone that bought a Gen 1, including me. So Samsung can go fcuk themselves I'll never buy anything from them ever again and I'm pretty sure lots will have the same opinion. I hope they go bust!
How to use that KVM switch
you need to download Samsung's Easy Setting Box software on your PC --> www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00091282/
@@araltasher Thanks a lot for help Samsung documentation is really bad and their support team told me that the monitor has no KVM
Lmao yeah the community is a better help imo 🤣😂 the tech support is usually a hit or miss with help haha
With all four screens, does it stay 4k?
The main display is 4K, so when you use Multi-View you’re splitting the overall 4K resolution. Long story short, you can run 4 HD screens at max 🤙🏻💯
@@araltasher how do we use the kvm in multiview i have been trying to figure it out for a while
@@araltasher So if i Play PS5 with Multi-view on that, i can only Play in 1080p?
@Tactic_Rush yup indeed
@@araltasher Okay Thank you. Hope one day all four screens can run in 4K.
Ill do some more reserch on this gen 2 might get it still.
Yo, happy to answer any questions you might have 🤙🏻🔥
Love this beast of a monitor bro, the colors looks beautiful 😍
Yeah I mean was this sponsored by Samsung?
Lol I wish, but people like to assume 😂
@@araltasher yeah you certainly have a lot of Samsung products lol! I'm a Samsung fanboy myself but I criticize them a bit too much. I don't think they would ever work with me.
@@araltasher in that case what I would do is separate a part of the video where you mentioned some negatives. I mean even if they are nitpicks it makes it seem more genuine. That is just my two sense of course
Bro I can't wait to see a video about your design and programming worflow with this new setup 🔥
You and me both! 🔥🫱🏼🫲🏽😂
I love the portrait mode
Do I listen to my inner voice of reason, or impulse buy it rn???🤔
buy it now, its on sale on samsungs website
Hi brother, just wanna ask a very basic question. Does this gaming monitor still require cpu? Or it’s inbuilt?
Huh????? It's a monitor - are you asking if you need a computer to use a monitor?
Is $1853 (after taxes) a good price point and it is it worth it for this price?
Well in the uk, we are being robbed at £2500. Not interested
@@ox3965 yeah, everyone outside us/korea is being robbed all thanks to taxes.
Yeah I just paid 2k + tax (then -5% for card used)
"... built for gaming in every way possible..." - lacks g-sync.... Pick one
This isn't a review, but a sales pitch. What a joke.
it is disclosed that its paid. more useful to see the features displayed than the samsung website but not the video to go to for an unbiased review.
Honestly I just want a monitor that has the multi-view support this monitor has. I love ultrawides, but I want to be able to split up my realestate and have programs recognize the splits as virtual inputs.
> First Impressions: Don't Buy Until You See This!
Got me to click on this but since the monitor did not have any downsides, downvoting this video. Clickbaiter
please is it an OLED monitor??
No, it's a VA Panel that uses a new Quantum Mini LED technology
Lmao 1799, and it's not oled. 😂😂
@MyNameIsNotPatrick 1800$? That's a good price. They're on sale for 3 grand here in Canada. That said, oled does have limitations..
@@MyNameIsNotPatrick2500 on sale. First gen is 1799
@nicotinedr3ams730 I ended up paying 2k at Best Buy. Yeah my colleague gets stuff cheap with his military discount also
oled ?
A quick google search would have told you "no"
@falxonPSN 😂 lmao
@@falxonPSN only took 2 or 3 letters to answer it, but if you wanna be sassy, yea, you'll need more
Domt buy this monitor its not worth it because the 4k is stretched out and looks bad . Or the oddesey 49 oled either it's so dim and the colors suck on it and text looks like crap
Trust me I bought it expecting a screen like my tab s8 ultra but it was far from that and had to return the 49g oled and I herd the 4k on the ark is so stretched it's basically 1080p if ur up close
What's a better alternative to the g9 49inch?
@@frankspaetz9310 honestly I don't know.. I'm just gonna hold out for now. Maybe somthing better will come out
@nicotinedr3ams730 the thing with big TV size monitors is that they look good from far away but sitting up close they aren't great unless there like 4k or 5k displays.. But that might just be me being picky...
You must have got a defective display because I own this monitor, and my experience is vastly different than yours.
I love this thing! I had a Gen 1 and then upgraded to the Gen 2 to get the new features, and I couldn't be happier!
Well I want one, but will not buy one. Uk price extortion at £2500
Wait for a discount. They usually go on a sale during special holidays 👍🏻💯

when money is no longer issues
not oled
Fly the Flag
Samsung must've paid you really well to be all up in your guts by the way you singing praises about this garbage!
Dang, who hurt you, dude? First, you complain about "Wast[ing] [your] damn time watching this garbage" but then you go ahead and leave multiple hate comments? lol
@@araltasher It's youtubers like you that give the rest of them a bad name! You purposely made this video in bad faith and wanna put on the "I make these videos for fun" act! You're no different than the next click baiting youtuber that just takes money and free products for clicks and views! And then you wanna pull the Disney card and blame the audience for your garbage content!
Lol I work a full time 9-6 bud, so not a “youtuber”. Not really sure how you qualify to be a youtuber anyway? I make videos, cause I’m passionate about good cinematography and this is my attempt on learning and honing new skills. So I make videos about things I like. I also don’t charge for a subscription or ask money from the people who want to support me, so I’m not sure what you’re upset about. You’re also still yet to talk about what didn’t work for you about the is monitor, which I’d be happy to hear. Cause that’s what the comments section is about; open discussion.

OMG . GARBAGE PIXEL panel .
Better other monitor on the right of the video
