- This film shows a day in the life of my 5 pet rats Alfie, Bertie, Oskar, Theo and Charlie. You will see the rats exploring the house, being naughty, stealing food, eating, sleeping and grooming and having lots of fun.

It takes a brave and humane person to love and care for an ephemeral being like a rat. Their short life spans are sad, but really teach us the true meaning of love.
Animalier We are brave, we have to be. But you're right, it is entirely worth it. Wouldn't be without rats.
Rats live for 1-3 years and if you own several it's easier to get over the passing
Animalier lol. Yeah. love. ( i have three rats and two of them dont like being touched by humans. but they like food. so its okay if i feed them. xD )

certainly not in my experience! I've lost several rats and it never gets easier.
Animalier its all relative. to us it is a short life but from our rats perspective they live long happy lives
Derek Riley if your rats are only living 1 year then you arent giving them the care they deserve and no it never gets easier

They are too funny. Just lost my first ever baby in late October, the most friendly one acting like a mini dog. probably most heartbreaking thing I experienced yet.
I can really relate to this, I was always devastated when I lost one of my rats. Eventually it got too much for me and I gave up having rats which is a shame as they are such great pets. But the short life span is really difficult to cope with.
I have 7 rats Peter and scabbers age 2 brothers and ichey and scrathey age 2 sisters and new baby rats 9 months rattail and claw sisters and my grieving wormtail she lost her sister 8th August 2023 trying my best to help her change her cage around new toys just to make sure she ok as we Al miss fang her sister
OMG I had a pet rat named Charlie that died so when it said Charlie I about cried. May she rest in peace :'(

I get jealous you have so many rats and fan! Iam 66year old in nursing home and in electric wheelchair so I can't take care of them! It is not forbitten to have Pat's even Rats!Thank you very much for the nice video, I love them very much! Only when get visit what they don't know they get in the cage locked up!

I can't imagine being without my three little boys. They are so lovely. I have named two of mine Bertie and Oskar in honour of your little beautiful boys. Your little Bertie and Oskar make me laugh I love where they are being weighed and having words in the end. I just love it. Thank you for sharing them with us. They get a thumbs up from me. The Christmas video is such a delight to watch and they are ever so sweet as well. You have trained them very well. By the way my third boy is called Roland as in Roland the rat that used to be on television.
Thank you. It is nice my videos are still making people happy (and sometimes a bit sad as well). It was great having all my rats as they enriched my life so much. But in the end I could not cope anymore with losing them after only a few years and have decided not to have any rats anymore.

Thank you. Yes they know exactly the part which is food and where your finger starts. Even when they are overexcited because they get some really yummy treat they realise very quickly when they reach the fingers :-)

Rats The best pets ever! At the start of sleep the 1 arm stretch is so cute. Theo cute Dumbo ears very cute, I have 3 the out grew they pod because all of them wanted to be in together and they stopped fitting so now they sleep in a big ice cream tub but not the same.
Always sad when the die. Wish they each lived 10 years. Each one is so different, my 3 little brothers are so different from each other as you and every other rat lovers know. The aren't just Rats, they are Binky and Jack and Dobby, or Marnix or Zeddy, as we could see with your Charlie and Theo all so different.
I agree, rats are the best pets! And they have such a lot of character. I miss having rats, after Zouma died I did not get any new rats as it is better for my health as I suffer from allergies. I still have budgerigars which are quite nice as well, but still not the same as rats.

What adorable rattles! I am starting to love them as pets,as I started watching videos about pet rats, they are so, so smart and cuddly! I have 6 guinea pigs, so I have my hands full, they are very high maintenance. One day I would love to own some. I just subscribed to your channel! Yay!
Nice. I had guinea pigs at one point as well but once I switched to rats I never looked back :-)
Loved them stealing the newspapers, too cute! I never let mine free range because I was always afraid someone would eat something that would make them sick or get lost or they'd get stepped on
+smm855 I have rats for a long time now and never had any accidents while free-ranging them. I think they really enjoy having some time outside the cage and with some care and foresight it is quite safe for them.
I don't let mine free range either because I have 2 Chihuahuas (dogs).
Theo and oskar looks exactly like my two rats, so cute!

I have 4 rats and 2 dogs. When I want my rats to run loose. I have to make sure the dogs are not in my room.

So cute, I have 4 sisters but one is suffering right now, only a year and a half old, almost not able to breathe anymore we'll make her leave in peace tomorrow, that breaks my heart but seeing her suffering is worst. Tears came watching your video.
That is really sad. I lost several rats due to breathing problems, most recently my rats Mickey, Timmy and Charlie. Mickey was only 8 month old when I had to put him down, Timmy and Charlie survived until they were nearly 2 years old. Seeing the suffering really is the worst, it is heart-breaking. I don`t know why rats are so susceptible to breathing problems :-(.

Aw! I wish I could let my two girls roam free all the time! They are too mischievous to be left unsupervised for too long though. They love to gnaw on plastic things, and sometimes fabrics. Luckily my kitchen is free of that in their reach, so they run free in there instead :3 Your rats seem very lovely~!
