    Legendary player. Philly can be a harsh place for Eagle's players. Even the best got booed and carried disappointment into retirement. Dawkins is one of the few universally beloved players. His talent mixed with intensity and work ethic made him a beast on the field. He also brought all the intangibles you want from a player. He was a true leader, totally dedicated to the game and the team. He gave everything he had on and off the field. The best part? Dallas and Giants fans hated him with a passion. You can count the number of game changing free safeties on you fingers and B. Dawk is one of them. Statistically and taken as a whole, he may be the best to ever play the position. I will always fondly remember his time here. Thank you, Brian Dawkins, for everything you did for us.

    If ray Lewis and Brian Dawkins ever played on the same team the way they got their teammates fired up, the defense would be legendary.

    He will forever be the shining example of what being a Philadelphia Eagle should be about. An absolute class act. It's a shame the spirit of that defense left when he did, showing just how valuable he was.

    Dawkins is a good man and a man of God. He played with so much heart and passion. i was upset when the Eagles gave him to another team. The Eagles will never find another hype man like him. He gave us his all and what we do? "trade him away". Brian Dawkins is bigger then Donovan mcnabb in my opinion. He loved the game and was well respected by our city.

    Look at the intangibles Brian brought to the team. You can't put a price on that. To this day, I still cannot believe he was allowed to leave for Denver. If there was ever a guy to "overpay," it was Brian Dawkins. The Eagles are still not right. This debacle is why Ray Lewis not a Dallas Cowboy.

  • @scubarulz
    @scubarulz 11 лет назад

    Maybe, but Reid for the most part didn't have a clue what the D needed. Hell, he made a O-Line coach (Juan Castillo) a doggone D coordinator?!!! What the Hell! Hubris or stupidity, fact is the void left by Dawkins and Jim J. departures was as wide as the Grand friggin' Canyon. Still hasn't been adequately addressed. Love the guy! Greatest all-time Eagle when you include the intangibles. The passion, drive, Wolverine fury. Seems outta place on ESPN, however. Articulates well, but football gods

    should not hang with psychophantic mortals at ESPN. Needs to be on an Eagle sideline in some capacity, or coaching and mentoring young people. We'll never forget Brian Dawkins contribution to Eagles football. Canton should skip the 5 year retired rule for admission to it's hallowed Halls.
