  • If you have been taught these sections in another way, that's OK. As the creator of this whole branch of Wing Chun, Grandmaster Leung Ting, famously said: "The sections are only SIMPLE exercises for beginners to understand BASIC Wing Chun principles!"
    Which variation of the sections you are learning is less important as long as you are learning all their lessons for posture, yielding to and using the opponent's force while using an effective footwork. What is important is intent, never training without the proper threat level from the attacker and counter-attacker, and having an intelligent method for learning the sections.
    Practice them step by step, like in the video, stopping between hits. Do each part until they can be performed with full speed and intent, stopping only enough power to not hurt the co-student. He/she is letting you strike for your training benefit, it is your responsibility to respect this and only use enough force for a realistic threat without following through with damaging him/her. Only then move on to adding the next part. When Chi Sau becomes a choreography without challenging each other, it is as useless for combat as a dance.
    The WT sections are a collection of quick and easy-to-learn drills for understanding the basic possibilities and requirements for Chi Sau. The drills teach principles for using sensory input from your opponent in some beneficial ways. They are NOT clever ways to attack an opponent in a fight. They are certainly not sparring, or a replacement for sparring.
    In the 4 (and a half...) Biu Tze sections, the theme is recovering from a mistake. The techniques within these sections can be used by the intermediate student to avoid a certain hit and regain control of the game, but they are even more effective when used by experts to control the game and steer the opponent into positions that allow striking and takedowns.
    The quicker you understand and learn these sections, and (most importantly) move beyond them all, the faster you will master Chi Sau and acquire your own understanding of it. While these sections are great at exploring the techniques of the Wing Chun forms and how they apply in Chi Sau, they may be a bit outdated. There are now other tools that rapidly teach effective Chi Sau technique that also applies to other disciplines like self-defense, MMA and Escrima.

    This is a great display of Wing Tsuns adaptability and flow. I have been a practitioner for twenty years and this is the first video I have seen that shows the true Wing Tsun. Thank you for the videos I look forward to the next!

    Hi, thanks for the positive respons! There are actually 5 BT sections or sometimes the 5th is referred to as the 4 and a half, as it is rather short. We'll try to record that section at a later stage, thanks.

    Hi, thanks for positive feedback. We're planning and recording the complete Wing Chun system including the Long Pole and the Bart Cham Dao. No dates for them yet

    Thanks for the comment! The sections are maps for fitting the techniques of WT forms together. You can train the fighting and tactility skills of WT in a more "3D" way, while also working on the footwork and flowing between striking, takedowns and the grappling stage.
    You can for example extend the regular Poon Sau tests to exercises that encompass all of these stages of a fight. We have a few videos on this in the channel (like our base Chi Sau for kids and young adults), and more are coming!

    Thanks for your comment! One lesson in BT is "failure recovery", a more useful lesson is "failure prevention". If you develop your tactility to the point of "stick-to", the manner by which the elbow is thrown no longer matters because you have already reduced its power and range before it became a problem.
    Whether you hit your friends with elbows in technique training becomes less relevant if you start to combine your technical training with actual sparring to learn more about its application.

    Well i guess this is how people learn step by step. In DVT we dont learn chi sao this way,but still,i'm grateful people upload and share their knowledge. A trained mind can learn from this.

    Every time I see the WT Chi-sau sections demonstrated there are some variations, for example the inclusion of the neck-pulling hand at the end. Interesting, thanks for sharing.

    Thanks a lot for these videos.its really helpfull since there arent many biu tze videos on the internet.i just wanted to ask is this all? are there only 4 sections to complete the biu tze chi sao?

  • @MrSelbstverteidigung
    @MrSelbstverteidigung 11 лет назад

    I mean, that the ellbow-attacks of the both are not really attacks, because of the missing footwork: they just dance. If you do the first ellbow in the 1 biu tze section just right, then another guy can't stand and just turn the body.

    the moment a guy goes for this kind of head lock in a real fight....at that instant you can duck your head down a little bit and use the momentum of his pull to headbutt him in the nose and/or knee him in the groin,i dont understand why the head cannot be used as a means to an end as well, when you feel an opening and the opportunity arises....it can be a real devastating hit,even if he dosent get knocked out(which is 99% of the case)the pain alone from a shattered nose and eyes filled with tears will make his body unable to fuction from the instant shock,giving you the chance to follow through and finish him or better yet create an opportunity for you to run and get away from the situation,there are parts of the body that depending on how they get hit and with how much force....not only cause extreme pain but also disrupt the ability of the human organism to fuction properly

      Description 🔼 above = possible.,
      Not ❎ the 'Glaswegian-Kiss' variant., Nor the Z.Zidane,
      Requires *Sensitivity drill inclusion for 'Neckline', to use *Sideways* .
      Has lower concussion delivery ratio. HuGEly better to practice upon a modified 'Towel/Jumper' MokJong.,

    you attack with the right ellbow an you have the left foot ahead???? Then you make two steps : first step with the right foot and then with the left. It is very strange.

    The best Wing Tsun masters are Tam Choeng Fai, Wan Kam Leung, Kong Chi Keung, etc. Leung Ting and Robin Tsang Wing Tsun King fu is just to fool foreigners.
    After three to ten years of training in Leung Ting and Robin Tsang Wing Tsun school, we learned simple basic forms of Wing Tsun only, not the technique of Wing Tsun fighting. They only know how to teach the form and movements of Wing Tsun such as Siu Nim Tau, Bridge-Seeking, Chi-Shou, and Biu Zhi, etc, and do not know how to apply these basic skills to real fighting techniques. Therefore, students who had learned many years from the school, cannot fight anyone. There are no outstanding students from their school.

      Wrong about LT. It's a mixed bag. Plenty of crap students cuz LT is all about the money. But the serious schools are there too, and yes they are among the top of the top. Pair drills, energy, timing, reactions, closing gap, all triangle footwork patterns, stance energies to always keep activated, power of fists, palms, penetrating soft body force, sudden jut force, kick patterns with footworks, kick switching targets, kicks and hands working together, it just goes on and on and on. Don't make such a judgement on LT's curriculums/skill sets even though he is a serious Ahole.

  • @JeetKuneDoBelgrade
    @JeetKuneDoBelgrade 11 лет назад

    Maybe not but if you understand the footwork involved before Biu Tze sections then you can easily recognise the footwork they are using. This shouldnt even be viewing this unless you have pre-biu tze knowledge.

  • @MrSelbstverteidigung
    @MrSelbstverteidigung 11 лет назад

    You say footwork, but there is no footwork in this Video to see.
