  • In winter, the temperature is -30°C (-22°F). I have to build a shelter and survive. There is a wild forest around, but I have everything I need for construction! The start of construction is August, there are a lot of mosquitoes and cliches. Hot. Then a rainy autumn and finally a fierce winter! Frost and snow! A blizzard! What will come out of this?.. We need to survive at any cost..

I just spent 3plus hours watching a man create a sturdy, cozy shelter, including a plexiglass window, make some delicious looking meals, ( those pork chops, omg) brew delicate teas, disguise the place like it's not even there, and I don't regret it one bit. I'm gonna hit the subscribe button right now.

My point was that fresh meat doesn't stay edible for very long and that canister in the floor is not a refrigerator.
In the video that I saw, everything was backward even the screws. I had never seen left-handed screws!

Stove is too near the door. If it catches fire, no way out. Stoves need to be in back even near a bed. If you have only one exit, then you'd be in trouble. We lived in the woods and had a 16x16 but your cabin is just right fore one or two. We had at that
time 3 kids and my husband built bunk beds into the wall. i loved the forest. Kids grown with kids now. husband in heaven. im ina wheelchair but love watching you guys build. i have fond memories. As a 77yr old now. God Bless all the builders of this world. Jesus was a carpenter.

Even their meals cooked perfectly and usually meat carrots onions potatoes and one guy did fish lol he caught his own and smoked one for the breakfast. Idk if it's just the concept of someone taking absolutely nothing, with but a few tools and immense skillsets, and turning a patch of land in the forest into a haven that looks livable and lovable simultaneously.

I was homeless for 13years and we spent that time together in a 1986 Dodge Van a long with an RV about the same age. And would wonder, if needed, what we would do without the shelter we had and coming up with ideas like this to continue to live.

Love it ! It reminds me of my child..my old brother , my three sisters, he always took us along to the mountains and just explored in up there, he will build shelter so we have a place to sit and don't get wet when it rained. by brother would trap some wild birds, or we go fishing and cooked them to eat it.....we kids finds some fruits and vegetables.. It's really nice up there....that's why I love to watched this kind of video. My kids learned all these survival in the lakes when we go camping.. they are all grown up now and have a life of their own.. I am retired now and I always thinking about having a small land by the mountain, river or lake... not far to swim and catching fish. I know how to build small place, put up a bed to sleep away from soil or dirt below.....etc. I dream that sometimes to get away from the city life...and write a story about living up in the mountain and got me a dog to be my guard🦮 and someone to talk to 😊😊😊 .❤❤❤❤🌞🌝🙏🙏🙏📄🖊📷🎥 Sept 18,2022

@@georgecamp5811 You are one of the luckiest ppl I know. I have always dreamed of living in Alaska and living off the grid. I just never met the right man who had that same dream. I love it in the country it’s where I was raised and lived off the land. We had cows pigs goats chickens ducks rabbits you name it . Grew our own food canned in the summer to have veg and meat through the winter. I left for college and then went to work and never went back. Now I’m older and retired I would love to live like that again.

I do love how he uses only Dead Fall wood to build his shelters. Even reusing wood he has already made something out of like he did the table he first made in the beginning. Building as he is going and taking his time. I bet his wife is a very patient loving woman to handle being alone at home while he is away doing these projects. She is a lucky lady.

The dugout looks very snug, safe, and warm enough for the winter, but I would worry about anyone trying to survive there for an entire winter. Unless he hunts, traps or does some ice fishing, he has little food. If he has other supplies, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to store dry goods, like flour or rice. He seemingly has no visible source of drinking water except what he packs in with his food. One bad storm that prevents him from getting more food could be disaster. And he definitely left chopping wood way too late. LOL Depending on how deep the snow gets in that area, the air vent and chimney may be too short and that could be dangerous if they get plugged with snow. I hope he has more survival tactics than are shown in the video. I wish him well.

He made a cold cellar, a smoke house and an outhouse. That was fun to watch also. I couldn’t take the noisey bugs…yuk
