To my mind, this is the best and only version that absolutely, perfectly captures the haunting mystery of this Bruckner Kyrie: conducting and choir that is attuned to the universe, music, and composer. I want this performed at my memorial service(s), the one(s) I schedule before I die, starting in a few years, so I am adequately grounded and prepared for the final years, days, or moments of my life until I pass on. I could listen to this daily. I have been looking for this for years. It was included on an inexpensive compilation CD I bought around 2003 from KMart in the USA, Quiet Moods. This and other pieces on that CD got me through a stressful internship year.

I'm singing this in October. I have this video permanently open in my browser at the moment and it brings a tear to my eye every time, so undescribably beautiful it is. And a wonderful performance.

Nailed it guys - great performance. If anyone is in Wales next weekend, the BBC National Chorus of Wales are performing this in the Hoddinot Hall in Wales Millennium Centre.

The music is beautiful, but the choir is laboring under overly bright light. These are likely LEDs and the glare they emit is harsh and unnatural.

Lol. A third category composer. Hollow and shallow music. Listen to Mahler, slum one!
