      Stuffing tires that wide on wheels that narrow is a horrible thing to do. Most tire companies only approve rim width 70-85% of tire section width. Other than shoehorning fat tires on so they almost clear, the performance of any tire suffers badly doing that, steering response, cornering stability, tread wear are all far worse.

    I bought a set of used 33's mounted on the same style 15 inch rims, pretty much just for the rims but if the tires hold air, I want to put them on my 77 F100 and or my 89 F150 4x2. Both non lifted, I mostly needed something to hold air and roll the trucks for times I need to work on their resto in my yard, Ever needed Spacers to keep wide tires from rubbing on suspension parts, steering components up in there? Just asking before I waste time trying to mount these fat tires on my old beaters.

    • @GRAPPAHOLICS
      @GRAPPAHOLICS  2 года назад

      Sorry I missed your question! How did that end up working out? From my experience with fat tires on skinny stock wheels you can usually get away with no spacers and it will just rub on the frame/suspension when turning full lock. Spacers typically will cause more rubbing issues on the body and bumper due to the added width. Lots of different possible factors though with different trucks.

  • @loganclark312
    @loganclark312 2 года назад

    So on my bronco I had the raging issue and never could figure it out, I thought it was my lift. But it was actually the pivot bushings on both sides of the ttb, the ones towards center. • @GRAPPAHOLICS
      @GRAPPAHOLICS  2 года назад +2

      These factory wheels are 15in and 7.5in wide and the tires are 13.5in wide. Almost twice as wide as the wheels which is definitely not recommended, but something I have been doing for years as a personal preference. I love the look of wide tires on factory wheels. The bead is not as wide in the center of the tire as the actual tread but this dramatic difference in size does cause the tires to bulge more than normal. This causes extra wear in the center of the tread over time but hasn’t caused me any significant concern on multiple vehicles with similar setups.

  • @shaunbain3305
    @shaunbain3305 5 месяцев назад

    That I beam suspension is the best in oem trucks till today. Them wheels n tires will always slant like that even on a front-end alignment. That's way ford designed it. Plus you will always have more wheels tire stick out on front than back. Cuz front axle is always wider than rear cuz disc and hubs on front. Always be an offset

  • @brandonlaragirl
    @brandonlaragirl 2 года назад +1

    Okay so out of curiosity just to get everything straight. You said stock wheels. So what are stock wheels with? And what is the offset. For example on my F-150 it's 7-in wide with a 14 mm offset. They definitely look good on it though bro

      7.5in wide. Running 13.50 wide tires is not recommended on them, but I do it all the time and love the look

      They should fit fine on the stock wheels but some tire shops don’t like mounting tires that are much wider than the wheels. 33s aren’t too crazy though so shouldn’t be an issue. Good luck. Thanks for watching!

    Please rebuild your ttb, and rebuild everything not just one thing, those ttb will tear them new tires to shreds even if there's only one bad bushing, rebuilt my ttb on my 96 bronco and it drives so much better and dosnt chop my tires up anymore, and find somebody that knows how to align a ttb, there not bad but you gotta roll them back and forth and re-check the alignment a couple times to get it right

    • @JDWard-Jeepster
      @JDWard-Jeepster 2 года назад

      @@GRAPPAHOLICS I live in the Philippines where tire and wheel options can be extremely limited. It is not safe to run a Donut Tire on the street for any length of time especially with the heat over here. That said a donut Wheel is perfectly safe to run IF you can find a suitable street tire to put on it. The problem with that is you have a Limited range of tire sizes. On a 15x4 it would be ideal to run a Smart Four Two tire which is 145/65r15 or possible an early Volkswagen Bug size like a 135r15 ( they had 15x4 wheels also ) But those are impossible to buy over here. The narrowest regular size you can get over here is a 175. I have a 2wd owner type jeep custom built into a roadster style format running 15x4 wheels in the front and 15x9's in the rear. I am probably going to be going to a 15x6 in the front so I can put a 185/65r15 in the front which will look ok being I am running a 31x10.50r15 A/T in the rear. While this kind of combination sounds silly it actually looks pretty good on a CJ3A style Jeep that is 2 wd and slammed to look like a drag roadster.
