Traditional farming communities in Korea developed a system called JADAM, which has been proven to be used to make the land more alive. Namely maximizing the use of plants that have certain ingredients that are adapted to local conditions, livestock manure, mineral salt water, and other materials that are easily available nearby, then connected and integrated with the food chain system between plants, animals and humans, including the use of microorganisms. . I have started applying it to several areas of land that have been damaged, because the humus has been lost due to mining activities on the island of Kalimantan, Indonesia, where the condition of the soil is very similar to the condition of dry desert soil and is almost rocky. This effort is showing very good results and if this is tried to be applied on the African continent and other desert lands, it seems that it will slowly improve naturally and bring benefits that move very quickly. Greetings from me in Indonesia and it would be very good if the JADAM system which was pioneered by agricultural experts in Korea is implemented. Please see this method which has been widely broadcast on many RUclips channels, as a reference. Good luck and greetings to a healthy and green earth.

The people of Africa can survive and thrive with the right tools and simple equipment. What they don't need is international organisations lecturing them or supplying them with weapons and ammunition.
They need to reduce tillage and instead incorporate covercrops and graze as a village, not as individual households, to improve the surrounding vegetation. Regenerative practices begin with reducing tillage, and include water structures when necessary.
Except that tillage has to be done prescriptively. Meaning, the soil is so compacted that they have to mechanically move that soil and incorporate some fertilizer. Whether that is natural compost or not, it depends on availability and the particular situation. Till, incorporate manure/compost, and follow the regenerative principles.
Has there been tracking of depth of aquifer as measured at wells, before and after projects? I guess my question is whether the retained water affects soil moisture below depth of crop roots. Presumably it would take at least several years to see a noticeable difference, if at all. Does someone take up the task of measuring precipitation on a systematic basis?
Good job keep up the good work, you have to push the desert back. It will cool down the area and it will bring rain. Trees have been neglected for decades 👏
