Watching River Rescue - a perfect antidote to the mayhem of the World. Thank you for taking on complex projects and doing much more than planting trees. Managing the long term issues is vital.
Thank you SO much to Ecosia for all the work they are doing to repair the Earth! I have been using Ecosia for many years. As soon as I heard that they were planting trees, I downloaded it. I loved it that when I did a search, there was a counter so I could see how many trees "I" planted.
@Ecosia You're most welcome. For context, the reason that I found this to be one of the better videos is that it went well beyond the usual summary style Ecosia utilises. Brevity obviously has its place, but in-depth explanations/exposés provide the necessary contextual evidence of successful ongoing project work in progress that are what a charity, NGO's, or similar, need to keep their contributors engaged and to recruit new contributors.
I use Ecosia since years and planted over 300 trees so far and many more to come! Thank you for the great work you guys are doing! your videos always have great vibes that brightens my mood 💖💖
Thank you so much for watching and for the lovely words ☀️ It brightens our mood to get this kind of feedback. Thank you for making any of this possible (the work with TreeAid and all of our other, amazing partners!)
I have learnt so much from this documentary, especially how not to destroy the purity of the rivers. Bringing back a river is a miracle. Our adventures are around rivers and trees, most of the time, so I know how important your projects are. I always wish you the best in preserving our planet and wildlife.
Mark Shepard has noted that the savanna is the most productive regarding biomass. If the natives used biome appropriate, food producing trees and shrubs in an alley cropping system they could increase food and livestock feed resiliency, use less water, create better soil, etc. And by the way, very nice tree diversity at the end.
Totally agree, it has almost nothing to do with climate change. Our land and everyone around us is pretty baron. We applied these principles and within 3 years the place is completely different.
Really appreciate the great work Ecosia and their planting partners are doing. Please keep it up, and please find ways to channel more money into planting rather than operational costs.
The tree buffer is something that was implemented in Canada during the Great Depression, and it saved the bread basket of our country from the wind carrying all the soil away. Its great to see it being used in other places.
I'm certainly switching to Ecosia now that Google's on the AI train, it's incredibly sad and frustrating but I suppose that was the big push I needed to switch!! I'll take positive climate action over AI bs any day and every day 🙌💚 You guys do such beautiful work
Same here!! I had been using it before every once in a while, however due to this I finally downloaded the app [which I didn’t know they had] and am going to use it solely for my searches. :]
Really cool to see Fátima dealing with the reality of going to a place like Ghana. Crocodiles hiding, boots full of water, kids waiting to swim in the water... One of my favorite video of yours so far.
Thank you Ecosia! And especially Thank all of you good people, that use Ecosia for years and "spread the word" among your friends, colleagues and your local community. Ecosia is one of the BIG easy methods in the world, with which everyone can make a BIG positive change for nature, animals and humans.
Nice work, must be very satisfying to see the changes made and the smile on peoples faces when they can thrive in their communities......it's not a losing battle anymore but a winning strategy. The playing and laughing kids says it all.
It makes me very happy to see those ecologcal and humanitarian improvements around the world... thank you ECOSIA... I'm motivated using your search engine every day! 🙌😃
I support you so much, I've even bought trees in your websites a few times, I hope much more people know you and support you so you can continue with your work . Kisses from Ciudad de México💟
I am so glad, that I went to Ecosia. Seeing and hearing all of this gives me hope and...well, it just feels good. Thank you. Thank you and everyone, who supports this and helps to make the world a better place.
Your team is completely amazing we are so grateful my son and I love using your search engine and feeling good about who we are always supporting by searching for anything we need.
Thank you so much for all that you do, not just saving trees but also human lives and families! Let's all try and tell at least one person about Ecosia, let us as users take part of the action the best way we can. Tell your friends at school, at work or wherever else about Ecosia, many people would want to know! 💚
Awesome video thank you for your work ! We do riparian planting combined with agroforestry in Cambodia and it is really such an important way to protect riverbanks.
They should be able to graze up to the water's edge where there is grassland or sylvopasture, and a rocky watering point is great for allowing cattle to drink and then taking them away to graze. Trees surrounding farms and sylvopasture keep an area cooler while helping provide food and shade - but better grazing practices can improve the soil and instead of using fertilizers, farmers can corral the cattle at night in the same spot for a week, then use that space for gardening and farming. Every week can be a new spot to farm or garden.
This is truly inspiring! I'm very glad to have changed to Ecosia and I would urge everybody to do the same. In a world filled with so much bad news it is - literally and metaphorically - a breath of fresh air to learn about these great projects that are doing so much good for people, ecosystems and the whole planet.
Such a wonderful video. I appreciate seeing the profits in action and learning more about these important topics. Everyone who uses Ecosia already, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! I'm telling EVERYONE I know. The more we support them, the more they can support our planet and the people in it. We are one family after all ❤
On entend dire que vous êtes un moteur de recherche écologique mais je voudrais rajouter que votre impact social et humanitaire est tout aussi significatifs! 🌳🌳🌳👏👌
Amazing work here, so great to see. There are so many organisations now doing similar projects and its so good to see the changes which benefits local communities and the world as a whole 😊
There is no singular way to properly plant a tree as it depends on the species and the local ecology. My suggestion would be to take hikes through natural forests (young and old ones) where you live and to make observations. What trees grow there, what species grow alongside them either as groundcover or an understory, how animals utilize the trees, etc. Once you know what conditions a tree survives and thrives in it'll give you a pretty good idea of how to plant it and how to ensure that it becomes a useful part of the environment.
From tamale- Ghana, i was having these same thoughts and watching some videos has led me here. Thank you for your work. The north's climate is worsening making it difficult for even farming to be lucrative
It's so good to see this happening in other countries, many around the world complain about the fires that occur in Brazil. However, the forestry code here is the most advanced. While European countries build and plant at a distance of 2-4 meters from the course of the River, in Brazil there is a minimum range of 30 meters for small rivers and a distance of up to 500 meters for large rivers such as the Amazon River. fun fact: 66% of BR's forests are as they were when the Portuguese arrived here
Technical works is interesting to see, but also very nice to watch the local interview, reaction to the work that improve their life and their collaboration
Fatima's movies motivating me to move ahead to propose and implement regen actions, I am very excited by her emotions and performance! Very cool, clear and interesting too
Does ecosia have a tiktok? I suggest that videos like this are uploaded. With Palestine, Congo, Sudan, more and more people are eager to make a change and ecosia is simple enough that everyone can.
What a great video Fatima. So nice to see you still so é passionnée at Ecosia after all this time, bringing effective educational information to the world easily and powerfully.
They actually have that shown on a semi-recent update, "Why is my personal counter gone? We want to highlight the impact of collective climate action and focus away from individual impact. This means that your personal counter will be gone while we work on new ways of highlighting our collective impact as a community. Traditionally, individual carbon footprints have been used by Big Oil to distract from the real climate culprits. That’s why we will be shifting our focus to collective action and the systemic changes it enables."
What Ben said :) (thank you Ben, we were responding other comments and saw this now!) Indeed, we want to highlight the community effort more but, don't worry, our team is working on other ways to show you your impact. In the meantime, hopefully these videos work a bit with that, too?
Hey Ecosia, i've been a happy user of your services for years now :) have you ever considered producing a coupe of videos with Mossy Earth? Since they have more then double your subscribers and much more views, a collaboration might be a nice boost for your awareness
You should help people to conceive rich edible forests all along the world. The rivers have a stream bed but also a flood plain, when you plant dense too much trees everywhere on the banks of the stream bed and around, the river is not allowed to slow and have his mobility to meandering in his flood plain and irrigate the land properly and have wetlands.
ngl aside from the trees providing shade for the water and undergrowth you guys should build multiple temporary dam’s Ik you already know all this. I’m not sure but beavers probably aren’t very common in that part of the world but “natural man made” damns work just as well
If you can't tell from Robert's surprise plug, we're so proud to be working with Ecosia 💚
Keep up the good work 💚🌱🌱🌳🌲
We are equally proud to work with you, @treeaid ✨
Don't mind the mic issue. I actually enjoy the getting to hear the sourundings as well. Gives much more perspective and atmosphere.
Thanks for the feedback, Stef 🙏🏾

"You can't change a habit without providing a solution" hits home quite strongly for me.
same, have paused and think about this a while, very good point
I know, that sentence hit me too, with its sense and simplicity.

thanks for watching and for appreciating the complexity around landscape restoration!

Ecosia always make great videos. But to my mind, this is one of the best that I have seen.
