Brings back memories. I got to hunt with my uncle down near Wilcox on one of our last hunts together maybe 35 or so years ago. I got lucky and shot a Greater Sandhill as part of our bag. When we brought the birds to the check station the biologist was a bit ticked because we had gutted them before hand. He said they couldn't determine sex. Whoops!

Reminds of my first Canadian goose hunt with my dad. We were hiding in some long grass at the base of a hill. Hit the first flight got one; than another flight came in from the other side I put my goose down next to a post. Set up for the next flight they seen us a flew past... Just then my father yelled "your bird" "your bird"!!! I looked back and an ospray was flying off with my goose. I'll never for get that.

Hey guys they look like they taste good. Ever heard of them being in Australia? I've got four in my backyard they hang around the dam. There's only two types in Aus and one is similar but much smaller with a turkey like neck. I'm just curious it odd to see a bird I've never seen before let alone a family.
