Looks like a pretty fun hunt! Wade was quite the little helper too - glad you got to spend his birthday with him out in the field teaching him what hunting is all about!
It was so much fun! He asked me tonight if we could go again, but not on his birthday this time because his birthday is a million days away! haha. He wants to go tomorrow :)
Always good to get the kiddos out and experience hunting at a young age like that! Keep the sport and tradition alive. Good job guys! Looks like a blast
A birthday hunt that will never be forgotten and a great hunt at that. Thanks for sharing it with us brings back great memories of the things that really matter family and friends.
That’s a bunch of good eating right there and down in my old stomping grounds. Seeing Wade out there made me reminisce on a lot of great times with my kids at that age. You all are raising them right and it is great to see. Another mighty fine video and adventure.
Awesome video probably one of my favorites because there is nothing better than seeing a child introduce to hunting a BIG congrats on a great day with your son!!!
That’s great that you brought your son along. I have two boys myself and we have gone out a few times and have also been working on the “fun” of hunting first. As always enjoying the season so keep up the great work.
Awesome hunt guys! I really enjoyed seeing your son out there with you, it’s all about creating memories with the ones we love in hopes that one day they will pass on the tradition to their kids. Keep them videos coming!!!
That’s awesome! Love that you took your son along! My dad started taking me deer hunting when I was 4! I hope to share these experiences with my future children!
That’s so frickin cool Chase and his boy, just love it ,way to go you guys. I remember my boy at that age just great memories. I don’t know about everybody else ,but the episodes just keep getting better and more personal. Ok whats next!!! Thanks for putting in the effort.
Loved this episode!!! I have two children of my own they are 4yrs old and 5yrs old. They both love the outdoor and going on adventures with me. This reminded of them! Keep it up fellas.
Another great one guys. Love that your son, Wade, was able to celebrate his birthday in such an awesome way! He seems like he’s gonna grow up to be a tough sumbitch, actin like that shiner on his eye was nothin! Lol
Awesome hunt again guys, I look forward to the new videos everyday! This series is making the off season much more tolerable and keeps that fire in all of us hunters burning white hot. Luckily turkey season is only a couple of weeks away!
Great seeing that little man out there with dad! Those cranes are crazy huge, I've never seen this before! Oh-and those coyotes; that crane hunt would've turned into a coyote hunt for me for sure!!!
Wow, you guys were shooting down pterodactyls! That's crazy! I keep seeing sandhill crane hunts, and I'm definitely going to get after them one of these days.
I was coming up with all sorts of “crane commander” comments right before you said anything...too funny! Great minds and all that...as usual a great video BUT I have never seen anything like this. I’ve heard of crane hunting before but never seen a video.. Thanks guys for showing a little different side of the conservation “coin”
What a cool bird. Looks like a lot of fun. I'm with one of the other commenters I'd love to try some of that crane bacon Randy Newberg was talking about! I'm enjoying the past two videos being over 30 mins!
Brings back memories. I got to hunt with my uncle down near Wilcox on one of our last hunts together maybe 35 or so years ago. I got lucky and shot a Greater Sandhill as part of our bag. When we brought the birds to the check station the biologist was a bit ticked because we had gutted them before hand. He said they couldn't determine sex. Whoops!
Awesome man. I always think about putting in for sandhills when we see them out in the fields around Duncan, AZ. Just need to do it. By the way your little hunting partner looks like a tough hombre. 👍👍
I see the cranes in Duncan and Franklin in the fields 100s of them I drive for Vista Recycling I pulled the trigger and put in this year I got drawn now to find a place to hunt
Reminds of my first Canadian goose hunt with my dad. We were hiding in some long grass at the base of a hill. Hit the first flight got one; than another flight came in from the other side I put my goose down next to a post. Set up for the next flight they seen us a flew past... Just then my father yelled "your bird" "your bird"!!! I looked back and an ospray was flying off with my goose. I'll never for get that.
Well I gotta say that crane hunting is the only reason I had to stay in Texas, but seeing as how other states have a season, I guess I better tell the ole lady to get ready for a move
He look`s like a boy that`s being shown the right way to live , and being told the right stuff that is what is wrong with this world there need`s to be more of that or we will have more of what is happening right now . I love to see father and son ,the old way tough and respectful way`s way to go guy`s!!! That is what we all need to do save America!! love you guy`s keep it up have fun that is what it`s all about! thanks!!!

What’s that big water refuge or huge hunting property called that’s kind of famous in AZ!?!? It has like super good hunting for all types of birds and shit.
Hey guys they look like they taste good. Ever heard of them being in Australia? I've got four in my backyard they hang around the dam. There's only two types in Aus and one is similar but much smaller with a turkey like neck. I'm just curious it odd to see a bird I've never seen before let alone a family.
They call it Fur2Feathers. New outfit, great guys, super passionate about hunting cranes. Josh and Nash are both on here. They can chime in and get you what you need.
How much does a hunt like that cost? I've heard about sandhill crane hunts and that's awesome that you can hunt them in AZ. Not far from soCal. Looks like Imma have to apply for some AZ hunts next year!!

Awesome hunt and perfect way to get kids into hunting. And crane is some of the best tasting meat out there!
We agree with you Tyler!
Lol that's cool, I have vague memories going deer hunting in the truck when I was 4 or so. Fell out the truck and got a bloody nose
Didn't know Arizona had this species of birds. Need to add to my list of animals to harvest.
Love me some bird hunting. Keeping my eye out for an Organic Sandhill Crane shirt, and the return of the Organic Canada Goose shirt.
Maybe one day Jacob!

There's life outside of Texas!? haha
Some flocked Don Mintz, you don't see too many of those decoys.
Those things are Dinosaurs for sure!

Good choice of weapon there Chase, but I couldn't keep my eyes off that shiny new pocket knife.
He was proud of it for sure!
3-1/2” of BB always sitting for the third shot! For when you need to reach out and touch em on their way out! Three tags go fast with cranes in SEAZ.
Yes they do! too fast. That's why everyone should have a party app
just let me know when we are putting in
That was awesome. Nothing like some father son time. Watching this hunt just sealed the deal for me. I’m doing this hunt. Can you hook me up with those guys info? Thanks again for a great video.
Thanks Bob! send me an email chase@themountainproject.tv

Thanks Adam! shoot me an email and i can get you the info. chase@themountainproject.tv

They are very tasty, Dale! I'm not sure about them being in Australia. I guess it's possible
I’ve never been crane hunting and plan on doing it this coming fall. Can you get me in touch with Nash? I want to do this right.
For sure man. Nash and Josh are awesome
I want in on this.
I wouldn't use those sunglasses sitting on your cap would you? Lol
Excellent idea!
How much does one weigh? I’m looking at them through turkey hunter eyes, they look taller but a bit lighter than a gobbler(?).
7 pounds average. Not as fat as a turkey
Please excuse the language but, that kid is gonna be one tough sob
Trying to raise him that way
Yea duh just ask Steve Rinella! Good work! I love me some sky bustin birds!
Thanks Aaron!
Our cranes will block the son..!! Woowoowoooooo ..!!!!!

You have to draw the tags and then it’s a few hundred per day
Whats the name of the guys outfit down there? Interested in hiring them to do this if I draw tags this year
They call it Fur2Feathers. New outfit, great guys, super passionate about hunting cranes. Josh and Nash are both on here. They can chime in and get you what you need.
They remind me of a sack of potatoes falling outta the sky when I drop them. Tenderizes the breast meat real good!!!
hahaha, it's a big bird that's for sure
How much does a hunt like that cost? I've heard about sandhill crane hunts and that's awesome that you can hunt them in AZ. Not far from soCal. Looks like Imma have to apply for some AZ hunts next year!!
Do it! They get $300/day. and you will only need one day!

Hate the be this one, but 5 y/o in the front seat and not in a car seat. Do right by that boy ..wouldnt worry about him cutting himself with a knife.
