The vast majority of grazing methods and systems are quite prescriptive in application. Prescriptive systems always limit biological potential. By implementing the Three Rules of Adaptive Stewardship we can optimize soil health, forage biomass production, livestock performance, and net profitability. B Horizon Dust Storms should be far more of a emergency than COVID. Watching this from NZ where unfortunately you would have to look hard to find a recovery academic. The same problems here with soil degradation. Any change here is from the bottom up.

I thought it was a horrible change when commercial buyers caused change with the packing sheds to now outlaw animal manure, so around us if you want to commercially sell your orchard produce you can't graze.

The info graphic at 1:12:00 and the explanation from Mr. Williams isn't making sense to me. We want to increase root growth, right? If increased grazing stops root growth how does increased grazing benefit us? Green usually indicates a positive, but his explanation seems to be that the red numbers are the positive end of the proposition. What am I missing?

We don't want to remove 100% of the forage in any grazing. The point is to take 50% or less forage per grazing in order to encourage root growth as opposed to stopping root growth.

Debt load on US farms is highest ever. I never understood why farmers, outbid other farmers to keep land prices excessively high. I gess you can blame anticipated inflation.
