    I dont think its a "fatal flaw", maybe its a feature. Some people, like me, hate RGB/ARGB. Its a useless feature and very overrated.

    PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING
    The fatal flaw for me isn't just that it has no RGB or ARGB. The fatal flaw is that there is a header on the board that looks EXACTLY like a 3 pin 5V addressable RGB header. This is actually only a 3v serial port (UART) and if you put 5v from a controller into it, bad things could happen.
    This is a pretty daft thing to overlook in my opinion, but i am interested to hear your thoughts.
    On the Discord we get a constant stream of system builders that have plugged connectors into the wrong ports, and i think this will also be one of those boards that it will definitely happen. And if it doesn't kill the board, the disappointment of informing the user that it has zero rgb support is going to be a real hard pill to swallow.

      I wasn't able to fit an RGB connector over the square pins of the UART header of my ASRock board. That said, people in the Discord have a talent for making things fit that aren't meant to.

    • @chrisrosenkreuz23
      @chrisrosenkreuz23 11 месяцев назад

      So did you try to do it like you said you would? Bard says you can control ARGB through UART. The fact that it's 3v instead of 5v makes me think it will just make the leds glow less bright. I have just bought the ASRock B650M H/M.2 Do you think this one is the same in that regard? Most that could happen is the fans breaking

    • @npip99
      @npip99 11 месяцев назад +9

      I don't see how this is an issue at all. If you're just plugging pins into pins without looking at the labels or anything then you're committed to playing Russian Roulette. If you do try to check the labels, you'll notice it doesn't say RGB.

    • @chrisrosenkreuz23

    So nice to see a complete review on this board. I had no idea about the RGB and am glad it is addressed.
    I bought a BeQuiet! 500DX case which has its own RGB in it, but is minimal.
    One thing to note is that the RAM isn't recognized and you need this to change manual in the BIOS.
    I had bought Kingston Beast 2x16 5600 mhz and it read only 4800 mhz.
    AMD 5 7600 chip and Liquid cooler II AIO

      @@Dailyrider94 It was just a bug where the EXPO profile setting to make the 6000mhz cl30 work didn't work and my task manager kept on showing only 4800mhz or so. I'm sure it's fixed with the newest bios update, make sure your ram is listed on ASRock's website. Other than that this combo, ryzen 7600 + 6000mhz cl30 + rtx 4070 is the best midrange combo you can buy on sale, at least in europe. It's perfectly adequate for 1440p 165hz, every esports game runs at constant 165fps, and every AA game on ultra settings with at least 60fps with dlss and frame gen, if necessary. You can't go wrong with Ryzen 7600, it's the best CPU for the money, with performance being on par with a much more expensive i5-13600k/14600k.

Price/performance, nothing beats it. 2.5 GB Lan, only two memory slots (big plus), decent VRM's and the top PCI-E slot is in the right place for a mATX build. Nice review, tyvm:) Oh, the lack of RGB headers really does not concern me: if they had to cut costs, that is not a bad place to do it.

      most user don't even read the manual or the writing on the motherboard, they just see what fits where, our discord it littered with tales of this happening. This is why i am concerned about it. sending 5v down a 3v header might not be enough to cause a fire, but it could damage more sensitive components on the 3.3v rail

    Okay so, wait
    This might sound like a dumb question, but I am a certified dumbass when it comes to computer parts
    What exactly is the downside of a lack of RGB headers? Does it mean the RGB just won't turn on? Does it mean I can't control the RGB? I'm just very confused.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  11 месяцев назад

      Yes it has no ability to control any additional argb or RGB devices. But more concern is from the port on the board that looks like an argb header and could be used to connect argb devices but could burn out the port or the devices

    • @scumbaggaming9418
      @scumbaggaming9418 11 месяцев назад

      @mikesunboxing Okay, so, assuming I have a moment of lucidity from my caveman brain and don't plug into the port that looks like an ARGB header, the main downside is that there is no control of the RGB?
      I'm not sure I understand. As in, even if I installed software to change the color of the RGB, the software just wouldn't change the color of the RGB?
