I just want the Community Day research tasks to be the featured Pokemon encounter. Who wants "Catch 3 Beldum" to give you two Pinap berries? I ran all over the place looking for encounter tasks. The vast majority of the rewards were pokeballs, dust or berries.
What I dislike in general, within an event that there are tasks that are not event tasks, it used to be all researches were event researches.. from what I remember atleast
I think getting a shundo of said pokemon would be the "end game" for that pokemon for a lot of players and is not want Niantic wants. They would prefer to keep players playing for certain pokemon. For that reason I don't see them making it any easier to get a shundo.
One million percent this. When the community gets what it wants Niantic loses money because that’s one less player endlessly tapping away at the game. This is why they also introduced shadows and drip feed shiny shadow pokemon. This also explains Dynamax having its own pokemon being able to use the mechanic.
yes it was awesome so many people. I don't know why Count Jinsula is so grumyabout it, maybe was the only one in the world who didn't get a Shiny beldum hahaha
I think a small thing they can do is add beldum encounters from party play tasks, easy ones like what they did for dusk/dawn crown pikachu for gofest, I feel like that would make more people meet up and stick together during cdays.
I like this idea a lot. It'd be cool to see Beldum as an encounter through party play. In general, during the Community day, the Pokémon for that day should be a common encounter through party play
It was a good Community Day. :) Family stayed near ours, so we didn't venture into the city where the usual group was meeting, but we still saw the occasional lured up Pokestop (that we didn't lure), got plenty of shiny beldums and I even managed to catch a hundo, so now my steel starting 6 for a raid is complete (and I even have a strong bench) XD
I got 15 shinies by playing all 3 hours. I also got 2 96s and enough XLs to max one Metagross to Lvl 50. Unfortunately my IVs on the shinies weren’t great with my best shiny being a 12/11/13. I already had some metagross before this but I didn’t have the shiny so that was nice. Really happy with this event, maybe the bonus could’ve been a little better, but 1/4 hatch distance wasn’t terrible.
Count!!!! I had a fun time playing in my car as it was stormy out in my country buuuuut I got a shundo from the go plus+ with a pokeball no less! Was so stoked
I was grateful for the 1/4 eggs and insane GPS drift that allowed me to hatch all my old eggs (some even leftover from go fest) without actually leaving home at all
the guaranteed lucky trades and pokemon from rewards are great ideas, because the IV floor will be higher and people that dont grind as much can still have a chance to get a good IV or even a shundo. BTW wtf your name is on your outro song??
Beldum's Day brought players near, For Metagross, both strong and clear. Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash in play, Made this Community Day worth the stay. Jinsula’s call: make moves elite, For PVP and raids, both compete. Niantic, listen, and bring the hype, To keep Community Days feeling right. Shundo hunts could raise the thrill, More IV chances would fit the bill. Lucky trades and tasks, a dream, To keep excitement at the seam. Community’s core, don’t let it fade, Ambassadors could boost the trade. Local events with bonuses tight, Would keep Community Days shining bright.
I usually just play until I get the Shiny Pokémon I need. That happens quick so honestly my comm days last around a half hour if that. I’m satisfied as long as I get the whole shiny family.
Just a thought. Why not use the party feature? Like during com day there is a party leaderboard on different tasks. Top teams(parties) at end of com day get some juicy loot.( not berries!) hehe. Even tho I live more rural, its seems like a fun little extra competition. The idea needs work tho ;)
I had been sitting on a shlundo beldum for over a year, waiting on this exact moment. Happy to finally have a shlundo metagross for when the mega releases ❤️
Lost out on a hundo yesterday. Clan member found one and put it in chat. We drove over there within 5 min..... but the weather changed. Why do spawns change when the weather does?
Loss time about 30 minutes total because of jagging had to restart so many times in first hour. Things stabilized after that but the lag…..weather was weird not many people out.
Dope vid Count, this was my favorite since Gible back in 2021, also had over 3k Beldum candy and down to 700 lol i got like 15 shiny Metagross with meteor mash
Got a 15/14/15, then just went on a grind for xl candies. I don't have stardust, but I can max him out. They should let party play boost shiny chance during comm day. Gives a boost to something we want, and doesn't have any real bearing on the game. Or to be controversial, let the whole party be affected by dialgis/palkia
Already had a Hundo Metagross from a random wild Beldum I caught like 3 weeks ago, so this Community Day was purely focused on shiny hunting for me. Caught 8 shinies but none of them are great. Still, it was a very fun Comm Day.
Honestly, I say it was a top tier community day that I myself have been asking for for so long. I was able to catch a ton of them rack up a bunch of candies which was my main focus outside of trying to get my first hundo one which unfortunately I did not succeed but the three things I would say Is to make the field research about the pokémon itself. Nobody cares about the Pina berries. Yes the stardust is good and the Great balls and ultra balls are useful because you're catching so much you could run out of them, but I found myself only finding maybe two or three tasks that rewarded me with the pokémon Aunt. The research task has a higher chance of giving better IVs. The next thing I would say is yeah I agree. Put the pokémon in one star raise for the same reason as the field research tax it gives better IVs. And the last thing I would say a reduction in stardust trade cost would be nice, especially for people who are trying to reroll the pokémon and do a bunch of trades afterwards.
I got plenty of shinies, none great, but I was under odds sadly. 1 in 40. First check was a shiny, took 130 catches before I found a second shiny. The first check being shiny was pretty cool though.
I caught 9 shiny beldums without even really trying walked around a pretty big park in my area and then put up coupe lures and the shinys just came to me then did two pikachu raids after doing Soo many and the bugger finally shine and it was female. Finally hatched 2 charcadets today.
Got enough XL candy to max out my first candy and I'll probably have enough to max out my second one when I transfer all 400 or so beldums tomorrow for spotlight hour
I feel ya on the com days getting stale. This one with beldum was a nice breath of fresh air. The other com day this month of poplio is also really exciting! Has great pve and pvp implications with the new move primarina is getting. I would like niantic to go back to the voting system they did for a while. Give a list of 4-5 potential com days and have us vote on which we want (ofc with giving us the move each different mon would get).
I got enough XL candies to power up my shadow Metagross up to level 50 and my gf caught me a 15 15 14 beldum while I was driving so that one goes up to level 50 too!
My biggest problem with yesterday was that the weather was great from 11-2:30 (which if Niantic would reinstate the 6 hour CD would have been just fine by me!), but at 2:30 there was a downpour for about 10 minutes. 30 minutes or so it was decent enough to play... and then it poured again and stayed that way most of the rest of the day. I know Niantic can't control the weather, but they CAN control the fact that they could give us a chance to choose our own hours within reason. Like at midnight you get a 3 hour incense that will change all your spawns into the CD mon. Like 11-2 would have been perfect for me... or even 10-1 so I could do grocery shopping after and get home before the bad weather. The people who were having the same bad weather a few hours before me could wait the rain out... otherwise I liked what CD Classic should have been for me.
That fundamentally goes against what the purpose of a community day is, which is to bring people out of their houses during a common time so that they could potentially get together or encounter new players while out. However, it is for the reasons you listed above that I like the Incense Days as their is no expectation to try to get you to meet people & while they already have longer hours one can participate, I still wish they truly lasted the whole day, midnight-to-midnight.
Honestly, to spice it up they should do a vote of random classics that players can vote for, they did the voting system 3 times and it never came back. It should, then at least the majority of the player base are going out for something they collectively want to play
Completely disagree with giving community day pokemon extremely useful exclusive moves, it just punishes people way too much for not playing. During the rocket takeover event I was lucky enough to get 2 shadow swinubs with nice IVs and it was a relief to find out that I didn't need to wait months/ years to evolve them since their regular moves are better than their legacy move
Yeah, & it definitely isn't helped with how rare it is to get Elite TMs to give them their exclusive moves. I caught 2 hundo Beldum when I was just starting out a few months ago & evolved them before I became aware of the fact that they even had exclusive moves that you had to wait to get. Such a dumb restriction.
To increase community play, they could lower trade cost to best friend cost for people who are day 1 friends. Unlimited special trades for only the community day Pokemon. Increase lucky odds for trades with players you never interacted with before. Beef up party play rewards on community day.
I don’t think they should do any of your suggestions, they have enough people playing anyways + what you just mentioned is so stupid for people playing for years before, you think they should just wipe what they’ve been doing with progression and let players have everything from now on, how much fun will that be? 😂

I think you were just unlucky i was getiing usually 1 beldum and 2 Item quest rewards
I actually liked the pinap berries. Just means more candy. Helps offset the cost of feeding every beldum I saw with a pinap.

Nice I didn't get a shundo but I got a shlundo metagross on Lucario raid day but I did catch a nundo and regular hundo meta so I was pretty happy

Finally got my first comm day Hundo since the 2 squirtle comm days in July 2023.
The research tasks that rewarded items were lame haha
5pm - 6pm - raid hour with 4* eggs. Every gym.

Niantic just waited way too long to run this Beldum CD
Caught tons of mons, got 3 shiny & 1 hundo who I immediately evolved & invested enough stardust to make it Master League material so I am very happy ❤
If you only got 3 shinys you did not catch tons of mons.

I played in a big area and didn’t find a single research task that rewarded beldum in the full 3 hour run 🙃😒

Yeah, ComDays have been stale for years… I love your ideas for improvements, especially the guaranteed ComDay Lucky Friend trades!

I had like 20 shinies and a few 94 iv beldums which i didnt mind..would have loved the shundo or hundo😅
highest iv I caught in the wild was a 96% and it was also SHINY 😮❤ close enough to a shundo for me. its maxed out 💪
😂 I was bummed they did not include any XP or stardust bonus and I found that out after I bought the ticket 😂

The CA Pokestop is not nothing. For small towns it’s an extra research task and gift. And large cities it doesn’t follow cell restrictions.
